"Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan, In Session - 2 LP Set - 180 Gram 45 speed - Numbered" - Product Image

"Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan, In Session - 2 LP Set - 180 Gram 45 speed - Numbered"

FACTORY SEALED 180 Gram 45 Speed 2 LP SET - LIMITED NUMBERED EDITION - currently out of print and our last copy. Here's How it was done: Using only the original analog master tapes, the renowned team of Steve Hoffman & Kevin Gray remastered and cut all of the titles at AcousTech Mastering, which features a pure Class-A disc-cutting system. AcousTech is located at Record Technology, Inc. the plant where the vinyl was pressed. It is a tremendous sonic advantage to have the pressing plant plating department & mastering room in the same facility as Steve & Kevin could cut a lacquer and plated immediately. This prevents the degradation of the grooves in a lacquer which is very fragile to quick deterioration. And of course cutting at 45 speed is the audiophile choice for the highes quality. A 45-RPM record is sonically superior to a 33 1/3 variety because of a 35 percent reduction of groove curvature compared to a 33 1/3 cut.. It means that while you can't fit as much music into a 45, the undukations of the groove that your cartridge has to track are stretched over a longer distance. For these reissues, the music was displaced onto four sides, meaning each side contains about 10 minutes of music. This is the ultimate reissues. The only way you'll get closer to this classic music is to listen to the master tapes or have been in the studio with the artist originally during the actual session. High definition analog vinyl pressing for superior fidelity. The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and ears. The ultimate record - the way music was meant to be heard. Out of Print forever!! In Session, recorded in 1983, is the only known recording of Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan performing together. Its long-overdue commercial release (the album didn't come out until 1999) stands as a fitting tribute to the genius of two of the greatest musicians ever to have played the blues on electric guitar. Now, it's available on vinyl for the first time. Anyone who's witnessed a much-anticipated jam session only to be disappointed - with each participant deferring to the other, the end result being that neither ever got out of first gear -- will welcome this pairing of two giants of blues guitar. Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan obviously shared a mutual admiration, but it simply wasn't in either one's makeup to a) be intimidated or b) take a backseat to anyone. Not without kicking up a little dust. This is such a precious set to any fan of either of these blues giants. In addition to the free-spirited jams, there are priceless episodes of conversation between each song, both men exchanging accolades and King giving the much younger Vaughan (though tragically it was Vaughan who died first) some sage advice. This simply is a must-have. Analogue Productions introduced test pressings from their Stax Records reissue at the June 2003 Home Entertainment Expo in San Francisco. Among the exhibitors to show off their wares using these yet-to-be-released 45s was Richard Vandersteen of Vandersteen Audio. "It was a big hit. The visitors packed the room every time we put it on. For once at one of these shows, there was some music that people wanted to hear. I mean, famous, classic music sounding incredible. It's just great old music that sounds much better than it ever had before. The people just loved it, and we loved playing it." - Richard Vandersteen, Vandersteen Audio -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. Call It Stormy Monday 2. Old Times 3. Pride And Joy 4. Ask Me No Questions 5. Pep Talk 6. Blues At Sunrise 7. Turn It Over 8. Overall Junction 9. Match Box Blues 10. Who Is Stevie? 11. Pepper was beginning to incorporate into his playing some of the new freedom being pioneered into jazz by John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman. The result was even greater daring in his playing style. On Intensity, Pepper tests the boundaries of conventional harmony while observing the traditions of melodic improvisation which he never abandoned. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. "Art Pepper, New York Album - 2 LPs - Numbered - 180 Gram - 45 Speed"

45 Speed 180 Gram Limited Edition Analog Virgin Vinyl "Low #138 Pressing & below" 45 Speed - 2 Sealed LP Set Of the new releases issued under Art Pepper's name in 1980, So In Love was overall the finest. The altoist stretches out here on a program of standards and blues, backed by alternating rhythm sections from the East and West coasts. Pianist Hank Jones is all one could ask for in an accompanist, and his aching solo on "Diane" sustains perfectly the restive mood of Pepper's opening choruses. Overall, the West Coast team pianist of George Cables, whose great rapport with Pepper is unmatched, along with jazz legends Charlie Haden and Billy Higgins powers the music along with great care and economy. Pepper had climbed to such a plateau of individuality that he seems often here to be drawing his unconscious influences into the light and remembering what it was he loved about them in the first place. On a leisurely "Stardust", he daffodils his sentiments with the grace and cunning of a Lester Young. The title track, a Cole Porter waltz that agitates into a collective improvisation by its climax, offers the best illustration of the wondrous use Pepper makes of John Coltrane. It isn't in this case a matter of piling up chords or of playing more notes, as it is with so many others, but rather of drawing on extreme registers of the horn to express more conflicting emotions, to reach deeper and higher recesses of the viscera and the psyche. Remixed by Rik Pekkonen and John Koenig; remastering by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman. Original Artist House 9412. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. Straight No Chaser 2. Blues for Blanche 3. So In Love 4. Diane 5. The only way you'll get closer to this classic music is to listen to the master tapes or have been in the studio with the artist originally during the actual session. 45 Speed - 2 Sealed LP Set - #140 Art Pepper left a legacy of innumerable appearances on records, but his sessions for Contemporary always seemed to find him in the best company and in the best shape. Here his impassioned alto sax is appropriately applied to the compositions of six saxophonists, among them Benny Carter, Ornette Coleman, and Pepper himself. The presence of Jack Sheldon in a rare performance as a small-group trumpeter was another important factor in the album's success. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. FACTORY SEALED LP Barney Kessel, Shelly Manne, and Ray Brown did not record together simply because they all happened to have won first place on their respective instruments in the Down Beat, Playboy, and Metronome polls. Their collaboration was due to mutual respect, and their sensitivity to one another's musical requirements. Here, in a set composed mainly of pop and jazz standards, they represent the ultimate in their fields, constituting a rhythm section that also provides brilliant solo interludes by all three members. Collectively, Kessel, Manne, and Brown won dozens of polls over the years; this record eloquently tells you why. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. The only way you'll get closer to this classic music is to listen to the master tapes or have been in the studio with the artist originally during the actual session. 45 Speed - 2 Sealed LP Set - Though he moved to Hollywood more than four decades ago, Benny Carter transcends any geographical style; for more than a half century, he has been just what he is called in this album--a giant of every jazz era. Here he displays three of his many talents, principally as an alto saxophonist, but also as a composer on two numbers and a trumpeter on two. The company he kept, with Ben Webster and Frank Rosolino rounding out the front line, and such fellow giants as Andre Previn, Barney Kessel, Leroy Vinnegar, and Shelly Manne in the rhythm section (Jimmy Rowles replaces Previn on two tracks) left no doubt that this album would be a milestone in straight-ahead, small group, mainstream jazz. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. Few sessions made the point throughout his career, though, like this 1976 date that was one of Evans' personal favorites. With longtime friend Philly Joe Jones plus new-to-Evans associates Harold Land, Kenny Burrell and Ray Brown, the ensemble is stellar to say the least, and the players strike a comfortably creative groove on a program that includes originals by trumpeters Thad Jones and Kenny Wheeler, plus Burrell's blowing tune "Bass Face." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. This is the last album Bill Evans made for his first label. That fact alone would give this at least historical significance; and there is surely also some importance to its being one of only two occasions on which the pianist was recorded for Riverside during "live" performance (the other, of course, resulted in the classic pair of Village Vanguard albums). But above all, these two nights at Shelly Manne's club in Hollywood marked the only recording by the excellent but short-term third trio; after the death of Scott LaFaro, bassist Chuck Israels joined Bill and Paul Motian; then in 1963 Los Angeles studio-stalwart drummer Larry Bunker made this brief but noteworthy contribution to the Evans legend. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. "Bill Evans, How My Heart Sings - Numbered"

BILL EVANS - HOW MY HEART SINGS - 45 RPM SEALED 2 LP SET LIMITED EDITION NUMBERED #140 OF THE 1000 PIECES EVER PRESSED. Sold Out Forever Last Copy. 45 Speed - 2 Sealed LP Set - #140 Bill Evans's return to full activity in 1962 came almost a year after his celebrated trio recordings at the Village Vanguard. Just ten days after that classic "live" session, bassist Scott LaFaro had died in a highway accident. Evans, deeply shaken, eventually re-formed his trio with the same drummer (Paul Motian) and Chuck Israels on bass. Their first visit to a studio was for a dual purpose: to make an all-ballad-tempo album, Moonbeams, and this "normal" set at the same time. It was producer Orrin Keepnews's thought that recording eight slow numbers in a row might prove unduly enervating; accordingly, the total two album repertoire was interspersed over three days of recording and the net result was two excellent additions to the Evans catalog. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1.
