LAST COPY FOREVER Out of Print FACTORY SEALED limited edition LP - Collectors Note: This limited edition pressing is now out of print & gone from the last distributor that had any of these pressing left within their inventory. Many of Trane's Prestige recordings don't vary so much stylistically. All are great and different, but Trane's sheets of sound method boast upon much of his soloing during this period. There are two elements that set this disc apart from the rest. One, a diffent, more funky, almost Latin percussion sound that sweeps the tempo along nicely. This album was recorded at the height of Trane's "sheets of sound" period. The opener, Black Pearls, starts off as a fairly typical hard bop tune in a standard A A B A form. However, shortly after Trane starts his solo his genius becomes apparent. Trane's solo is a miracle of light and sound. He furiously attacks the tune with an unbelievable ferocity. He spins long lines that are rhythmically and harmonically incredible. I can only imagine Byrd and Garland trying to follow him, slack-jawed in amazement. After Trane, Byrd collects himself and actually turns in a nice solo that contrasts nicely with Trane's fire-breathing one. His lines are laid back but sufficiently exploratory. Lover Come back to Me is a fast tempoed tune that is ok and Sweet Saphire Blues features Garland on an extended solo turn. Overall though, Trane's transcendent performance on "Pearls" alone is worth the price of the LP. 1. Black Pearls 2. Lover, Come Back to Me 3. Sweet Sapphire Blues

"John Coltrane, Blue Train"

BLUE TRAIN - JOHN COLTRANE, the tenor sax giant had signed with another label when he embarked on this one-off date for Blue Note, an excursion that paid off with an enduring modern jazz masterpiece. Boasting volley after volley of smart soloing and intuitively swinging rhythm work, BLUE TRAIN is a joy, from the coolly precise ensemble entry on the opening title piece through the set's balance of elegant hard bop conversations and smooth downshifts into ballads. John Coltrane wrote four originals, all of them now regarded as standards, and assembled a rhythm section including pianist Kenny Drew, Miles Davis' rhythm section of bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Philly Joe Jones, and trumpeter Lee Morgan and trombonist Curtis Fuller. Coltrane's signature sound, now fully developed but still hewing more to familiar blues and chromatic harmonies than his later modalities, is confident and expansive, and his partners respond vividly throughout. Tracks include: Blue Train - Moment's Notice - Locomotion - I'm Old Fashioned - Lazy Bird.

"John Coltrane, Cattin' With Coltrane & Quinchette"

This is as close as we'll ever get to hearing the President, Lester Young, with John Coltrane. And it is close, indeed, for Coltrane's tenor saxophone partner here is Paul Quinichette, who so successfully emulated Young that his fellow musicians nicknamed him the Vice President. Coltrane's drive and passion are contrasted with Quinichette's relaxed approach. But, particularly in "Sunday," the older man was a clear match in the swing department for the young lion Coltrane. The two have a fascinating "conversation" in "Anatomy," a head arrangement on the changes of "All the Things You Are." Included is a previously unreleased "Tea for Two." Cattin' is one of the most attractive items in the annals of tenor saxophone duos. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. Cattin' 2. Sunday 3. Exactly like you 4. Anatomy 5. Vodka 6. Tea for Two

JOHN COLTRANE - COLTRANE Virgin Vinyl. Track Listings 1. Bakai 2. Violets for Your Furs 3. Time Was 4. Straight Street 5. While My Lady Sleeps 6. Chronic Blues Simple yet complex. This is one of the best ALBUM'S the COLTRANE complied. I believe this is greatest rhythm section ever formed. The artists all are craftman of the fellow instruments. Coltrane was ahead his time and this group put themselves in the history books with this ALBUM. This was the groups debut studio ALBUM and led to a plethora of other greats. This album is straight to the point like the title of the ALBUM. I mean what else do you need to know it's Coltrane.

"John Coltrane, Lush Life"

140 Gram Vinyl John Coltrane's Prestige years began when he joined the Miles Davis Quintet in 1955. Durning the next few years, when he was either with Davis or the Thelonious Monk Quartet, he functioned as both leader and sideman for this label. These recordings document the first part of his relatively short but highly influential time in the spotlight. Lush Life, a combination of standards and blues, treated in the unique Coltrane manner- sound wedded to material in a completely personal way - contains three tracks without a piano. This is the first itme he recorded in this manner, other than when Monk was "strolling", and it offers andother aspect from , and of, Trane. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. Like Someone In Love 2. I Love You 3. Trane's Slo Blues 4. Lush Life 5. I Hear a Rhapsody

THE LAST TRANE - The Last Trane represents the final studio session for Prestige in the productive recording relationship between John Coltrane and Red Garland. Often with trumpeter Donald Byrd on Board, the two made a succession of dates in 1957 and '58 in which Coltrane's genius could be heard developing. His celebrated job with Thelonious Monk had Deepend his harmonic understanding and reinforced his determination to explore beyond the boundaries of standard jazz improvisations. In his remarkable blues solo on By the Numbers, Coltrane both aggirms his roots and announces a new direction. "John Fogerty, And the Blue Ridge Rangers" - Product Image

"John Fogerty, And the Blue Ridge Rangers"

JOHN FORGERTY - BLUE RIDGE RANGERS Out of Print FACTORY SEALED Classic Analog LP - From the first twang of that banjo, I knew I was in for something different here. While some artists in 1973 were rediscovering 50's rock & roll, John Fogerty looked back and paid tribute to 50's country western & gospel! My faves include "Blue Ridge Mountain Blues", "You're the Reason", "California Blues", "Workin' On A Building", "Please Help Me, I'm Falling", "I Ain't Never" and "Today I Stared Loving You Again" (there's one I can relate to way too much). But they're ALL good ones. Some have become standards, done by many artists over the years, like "She Thinks I Still Care" (George Jones, Cher, Michael Nesmith) and "Jambalaya (On The Bayou)" (Hank Williams, Jo Stafford, Carpenters-- probably my favorite, Buzz Zeemer, and Dash Rip Rock-- probably the WILDEST) but Fogerty does each in his own style. I'd love it if he did another one like this, as I can listen to this over and over-- and have been. Track Listings 1. Blue Ridge Mountain Blues 2. Somewhere Listening (For My Name) 3. You're the Reason 4. Jambalaya (On the Bayou) 5. She Thinks I Still Care 6. California Blues (Blue Yodel No. 4) 7. Workin' on a Building 8. Please Help Me, I'm Falling 9. Have Thine Own Way, Lord 10. I Ain't Never 11. Hearts of Stone 12. Today I Started Loving You Again

"John Kay & Sparrow - Collectors Item - The Beginnings of Steppenwolf" - Product Image

"John Kay & Sparrow - Collectors Item - The Beginnings of Steppenwolf"

JOHN KAY & SPARROW - COLLECTORS ITEM - COLUMBIA RECORDS RELEASE OF COLLECTORS ITEMS THE BEGINNINGS OF STEPPENWOLF. JOHN KAY & THE SPARROW - COLLECTORS ITEMS - Steppenwolf leader/founder John Kay is perhaps the most overlooked early contributor to the musical style that would become heavy metal and hard rock. Kay was the first rocker to use the phrase heavy metal in a song, in one of metal's first great anthems: Steppenwolf's 1968 classic "Born to Be Wild." Born Joachim Fritz Krauledat on April 12, 1944, in the section of Germany that was once known as East Prussia, it was the American rock & roll that he heard on U.S. Armed Forces radio after his family moved to East Germany that fueled his interest in music. After relocating to Toronto, Canada, in 1958, Kay became even more transfixed by rock & roll -- leading to Kay picking up the guitar, writing songs, and playing in local bands. In the '60s, Kay founded the Sparrow, a rock outfit who played both Canada and the U.S., but received little attention. The group had fallen apart by 1967, but with a new, harder-edged style of rock beginning to conquer the charts and airwaves (Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and the Yardbirds), Kay decided to pursue this direction with his next band, Steppenwolf (titled after Hermann Hesse's novel of the same name). 1. Twisted 2. Goin' to California 3. Baby, Please Don't Go 4. Down Goes Your Love Life 5. Bright Lights, Big City 6. Can't Make Love by Yourself 7. Good Morning Little Schoolgirl 8. King Pin 9. "John Lee Hooker, Face To Face - Double LP"

160 Gram Classic Analog LP Pressing JOHN LEE HOOKER - FACE TO FACE - NOW LONG OUT OF PRINT & TREMENDOUSLY RARE 160 GRAM SEALED DOUBLE LP SET LP - ALSO COMES WITH THE BONUS OF THE BOOGIE CHILLEN CD. Mr. Hooker certainly isn't the only artist to release "new" music after his death. But his LAST ALBUM sure-enough is better than almost anyone else who has. Rather than a plodding, macabre effort to cash in one more time (you know the ones I'm talking about), this LP is as vibrant as, well, life! Following Mr. Hooker's recent success formula once again, a stellar cast contributes. And oh, mama, what a lineup: Van Morrison, Elvin Bishop, Jack Cassidy, Johnny Winter, Warren Hayes, Dickie Betts and George Thoroughgood. With these backing musicians, even I could sound passable. But behind Mr. Lucky you can imagine the great results. Serious performers only, if you please. My personal favorite track is "Dimples" featuring a duet with Van The Man and Elvin Bishop on second lead guitar. But that choice might just change on repeated listens. There ain't a dog amongst the 15 tunes here, and how often can you say that about a ALBUM anymore, even on so-called "Greatest Hits" packages? Track Listings 1. Big Road 2. Dimples 3. Loving People 4. Face to Face 5. Funky Mabel 6. It Serves Me Right to Suffer 7. Up and Down 8. Mad Man Blues 9. Six Page Letter 10. Stop Jivin' Me 11. Mean Mean World 12. Turn Over a New Leaf 13. "John Lennon, Live In Toronto with Calendar - Original 1970 LP"

THE PLASTIC ONO BAND - LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO 1969 - this is our last copy forever. This is the Apple release still sealed LP (decades out of print) with the calender inside the sealed LP. Analog vinyl pressing --the way music was meant to be heard. This is Apple release with the 1970 John Lennon Calendar inside sealed jacket. You will definitely be one of the last people in the world to own an Original Factory Sealed piece of John Lennon musical history. The opening six tracks are excellent and display John at top form. Much better than LIVE IN NYC concert recorded years later. The songs included are: Blue Suede Shoes - Money - Dizzy Miss Lizzy - Yer Blues - Cold Turkey - Give Peace A Chance. Side One remains great for its spontaneity and passion. The band consists of John Lennon (Guitar, Vocals) - Yoko Ono (Vocals) - Eric Clapton (Guitar) - Klaus Voorman (Bass Guitar) - Alan White (Drums).

"John Lennon, Unfinished Music No. 2 - Life With The Lions"

JOHN LENNON - UNFINISHED MUSIC NO. 2 - LIFE WITH THE LIONS - THIS IS THE ORIGINAL ZAPPLE RECORDS RELEASE - ALMOST 40 YEARS OUT OF PRINT - Probably the most avant garde, adventurous work ever released by a major label, this is a mind expanding, terrifying album. From the epic Cambridge 1969 (running a wonderfully epic 26 1/2 minutes), the creepy No Bed for Beatle John, and the John Cage tribute Two Minutes Silence (it is NOT the best song on the album because Yoko shuts up, as some reviewers have said), it's an album you are not likely to forget. Reportedly, it was made after Yoko's miscarriage, accounting for the agony. The stuff that nightmares and pain are made of. Yoko's vocals on this album are some of her best work. John's distorted guitar compliments them superbly (especially on Cambridge 1969). This is the best of the "Unfinished Music" albums (Two Virgins and Wedding Album being the other two). Track Listings 1. Cambridge 1969 2. No Bed for Beatle John 3. Baby's Heartbeat 4. Two Minutes Silence 5. Radio Play

"Johnny & Edgar Winter, Together Live"

Classic Analog LP Pressing. Individually, Edgar Winter and his brother, Johnny Winter are powerful artists, but combined, they are virtually unstoppable. In this live set, the brothers are having the time of their lives, digging deep into their bag of favorites, and pulling out smoking renditions of the Same and Dave classic "Soul an" and the Righteous Brothers "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling." The history of roll and roll continues with Little Richard's "Tutti Frutti" and "Good Golly Miss Molly" and Chuck Berry's "Reelin' and Rockin'. The Winters go Detroit on Mitch Ryder's "Jenny Takes A Ride, and pay homage to the king, Elvis Presley, with "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Jailhouse Rock."

"Johnny Cash, Original Golden Hits Volume II"

JOHNNY CASH - 11 ORIGINAL GOLDEN HITS HITS VOLUME TWO FROM RCA/SUN RECORDS SUN 101 R143754 - FACTORY SEALED LP - Johnny Cash was a country legend even during his lifetime, although, or perhaps because, he was very different from the numerous country singers with checkered shirts. When performing he chose to wear black as a symbol of solidarity with the oppressed and those who had no rights. His chosen outlaw image was just as convincing as the train-like boom-tiddy-boom sound of his rhythm group who lent their typical sound to many of his 500 songs.
