"Linkin Park, Hybrid Theory"
LINKIN PARK - HYRBRID THEORY - ORIGINAL STILL SEALED - WARNER BROTHERS RECORDS 2000 RELEASE
It may be too cynical to assume Hybrid Theory changed its name to Linkin Park in order to appear right next to Limp Bizkit in your local record bin. But rock-rap workouts like "One Step Closer" and "Papercut" do make Linkin Park a comfortable fit with Fred Durst and his ilk. Producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Lit, Eve 6) and twin vocal threats Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda serve up industrial-strength rap and rock melodicism with equal aplomb on this woulda-been-self-titled debut effort. "Points of Authority" aims to sound like Trent Reznor wanking it up with Lars and company, whereas guitarist Brad Delson's Edge-y harmonics help "In the End" and "Pushing Me Away" evoke a dark romanticism akin to A Perfect Circle. Curiously, the band gets by with no bass player, while sample-happy DJ Joseph Hahn's step into the spotlight on the instrumental "Cure for the Itch" suggests a potential for eclecticism that could help Linkin Park outlive its seemingly transient genre

This recording is just so cool! Little Sonny has got to be one of the funkiest harp players ever. His sound is very full and dynamic. His band is one solid, rockin', funkified unit. To me, they sound as though they have fused electric delta blues and James Brown style funk. And, believe me, they do it effortlessly. These guys are first-rate musicians who have honed their style for years in some of the greasiest bars in Detroit.

LOU DONALDSON - ALLIGATOR BOGALOO -
Excellent funky work from Lou Donaldson -- and a groundbreaking record that was the first to feature him playing on Blue Note with drummer Idris Muhammad -- who is listed on the session under his birth name, Leo Morris! Muhammad gives the album that crackling funky bottom sound that instantly defined Lou's later years at Blue Note -- a hard and heavy approach to soul jazz that's had incredible repercussions in the world of hip hop, as well as soul and funk. The rest of the group features soul jazz burners Lonnie Smith on organ, Melvin Lastie on trumpet, and George Benson on guitar -- and the album includes the highly successful "Alligator Boogaloo", plus hard groovers "The Thang", "Aw Shucks!", and "One Cylinder".

"Lou Reed, American Poet (2 LPs) - 180 Gram"
Classic Analog LP Pressing. Features previously unreleased live material recorded in Hampstead, New York, on December 26th, 1972 right after the release of the album "Transformer." Also includes a rare interview track!
LOU REED - AMERICAN POET - 180 Gram Limited Edition - OUT OF PRINT classic LP (made in 2001 EUROPE - high-definition Virgin Vinyl pressing . LAST COPY Collectors Alert: Many of these Titles will never be available again. Their license to produce these 180 Gram Masterpieces with Universal Records International has Ended. This means that this specific title is now out of print and there are very few remaining is sealed condition.
Since 1989's New York, Lou Reed has been a politically correct elder statesman of rock. Early on, though, he was the very essence of cutting edge, a time captured perfectly on American Poet. Recorded for a 1972 radio broadcast right after his return from England where he'd just recorded Transformer with the Ziggy Stardust crew, Lou and band deliver four tunes from that album sans the pop sheen David Bowie and Mick Ronson added. There are superb, near definitive takes from the Velvet Underground canon, a throwaway from his solo debut, and an early "Berlin." Lou actually sings here. The primitively wonderful band is as cool in its own way as the Rock 'n' Roll Animal group, and a hilarious midconcert interview (DJ: "Where's Doug Yule?" Lou: "Dead, I hope") reminds one how lovably vicious and politically incorrect the godfather of punk once was.

"Lucky Thompson, Lucky Strikes"
LUCKY THOMPSON - LUCKY STRIKES
FACTORY SEALED LP -
One of the saxophone legends, Lucky Thompson's style was nurtured in the Swing Era and molded by the innovations of bebop. His pulling-together of the various righteous elements from different persuasions and directions was honed to a personal sharpness in his brilliant series of recordings for Prestige, in which he revealed a talent on the soprano saxophone as well as the tenor. Long out of print, Lucky Strikes is doubly welcome because Thompson has been off the scene since the mid-1970s.

"Maddona, Music"
MADONNA- MUSIC - Limited Edition classic LP high-definition pressing for superior fidelity. The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and your ears. The ultimate record -- the way music was meant to be heard .
On her last outing Madonna wowed both critics and the public alike. By brilliantly combining electronic beats with strong melodies on Ray of Light, Madonna took pop music in a bold, new direction. Madonna's new album Music picks up where Ray of Light left off, but ultimately this album will not be remembered as adventurous as its predecessor. Madonna sticks with the same formula that made Ray of Light a critic's darling, and that's certainly not a bad thing.
It would be easy to be misled by Music's first single and title track. The single Music, currently in heavy airplay on radio stations around the country, is a quirky, fun little number with simple, easy-to-digest lyrics. It brings to mind some of the happy-go-lucky music of Madonna's past. Music the album, however, sometimes gets deeply personal and strangely moving at times. It is older, wiser Madonna that we find here, one we can relate to and empathize with. "Many miles, many roads I have traveled, fallen down on the way," sings the one-time Material Girl on "I Deserve It." Suddenly Madonna doesn't seem so much like a glamour icon here as much as a world-weary soul-searcher.
Style-wise the album is still punctuated heavily with electronic loops and beats. "Impressive Instant" is an incredible sonic whirlwind, and "Runaway Lover" is headed straight to the dance floor. There is however more use of acoustical guitar here though than on Ray of Light. For the first few seconds of "Don't Tell Me," you would think you were listening to a John Denver song until staccato beats punctuate the song to a magnificent effect. There is heavy use of vocal manipulation (ala Cher's "Believe") throughout the album. Sometimes this is distracting, as in "Nobody's Perfect," a beautiful ballad that suffers from over-production.
On Music, Madonna continues here collaboration with electronic-mastermind William Orbit, as well as bringing in French artist Mirwais to produce some songs. On this album though, we the audience are more familiar with electronica thanks to Ray of Light, so nothing seems as new and shocking as than on that album. Most of the songs are heavily produced with beats and synthesizers, but they rarely mask the underlying melodies and emotion.
All in all, Music is another highly accomplished effort from Madonna, and one of her best albums. High-tech wizardry aside, this is still very much a Madonna album- sometimes light, sometimes challenging, but always entertaining. "Selling out is not my thing," she sings on "Gone," and she hasn't. More a continuation of her foray into electronica than a new effort, this album makes a nice bookend to Ray of Light, and it certainly deserves a spot in your LP collection.

"Madonna, Confessions Remixed On The Dance Floor - 3 LPs"
MADONNA - CONFESSIONS REMIXED ON THE DANCE FLOOR - Limited Edition classic 3 LP high-definition Virgin Vinyl pressing for superior fidelity. REMIXES BY JACQUES LU CONT - THIN WHITE DUKE - MAN WITH GUITAR - PAPER FACES & STUART PRICE.
The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and your ears. The ultimate record -- the way music was meant to be heard. So few artists are available in Limited Edition Factory Sealed LPs – so few pressed (usually less than 1,000) – don’t miss out.
MADONNA is back with her new album Confessions on a Dance Floor and it is an amazing album and one of her best!
HUNG UP - This is the first single off of the new album and is a huge hit in the clubs. The song has a sample from ABBA's song Gimme Gimme Gimme (which I have never heard) and has MADONNA singing about someone she is hung up on. The song has a very great groove and it's definitely the most commercial song on the album. With the chorus line "Every little thing that you say or do I'm HUNG UP, I'm hung up on you." and lines like "Ring , ring, ring goes the telephone, the lights are on but there's no one home" the song gets stuck in your mind and you find yourself singing these catchy lines. No Madonna song has as catchy lines since "INTO THE GROOVE" which had Madonna sing "At night I lock the doors and no one else can see". Very strong single that will keep the dance club crowd on there feet. EXTENDED VOCAL 7 MINUTES & 57 SECONDS AS WELL AS EXTENDED DUB SAME LENGTH & TIME. DISC 1 SIDE 1 & 2
GET TOGETHER - This is a great up- beat song (borrows a bass line from Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You) with a very laid back trance like feel to it. The song has Madonna singing to a person she really likes asking "Do you believe in love at first sight?" Even if it's an illusion she states she don't care. "Can we get Together? I really, I really want to be with you. Come on check it out with me, I hope you, I hope you feel the same way too." Put some head-phones on and close your eyes and the Great retro dance beat along with the trance feel take you to another world. SIDE 2 - 6 MINUTES & 17 SECONDS
SORRY - This is rumored to be one of the new singles from the album. Madonna sings "I don't want to hear, I don't want to know please don't say your SORRY." to someone she is probably never going to forgive. The songs chorus samples the bass line from The Jacksons' 1981 hit Can You Feel. Sure to be another huge club and commercial hit. DISC 2 - 7 MINUTES & 23 SECONDS
I LOVE NEW YORK - Great dance song that has MADONNA telling us how much she loves NEW YORK and hinting towards George Bush and his home state. Singing, "If you don't like my attitude then you can just f off. Just go to Texas, isn't that where they golf." Very awesome dance song with a very punk rock feel to it. This is also rumored to be a single off of the new album. DISC 3 - 7 MINUTES & 42 SECONDS
LET IT WILL BE - this is a song that has a raw feel to it with a funky house groove and a retro 80's feel to it. This song samples the string opening (played on a synth) from her own song PAPA DON'T PREACH. This song has MADONNA singing lines like "Now I can tell you about success, about fame, about the rise and the fall, of all the stars in the sky, Don't it make you smile? Let it will Be. Just let it be. Won't you let it be?" DISC 3 - 7 MINUTES & 28 SECONDS

"Madonna, Who's That Girl"
MADONNA'S WHO'S THAT GIRL - ORIGINAL 1987 SIRE RECORDS MOVIE SOUNDTRACK - STILL WITH THE ORIGINAL MARKETING STICKER ON THE PLASTIC WRAP. ( original release with a small cutout in jacket) - OUT OF PRINT FOR DECADES
Madonna's film career has never really taken off, despite being launched way back in 1985 with Desperately Seeking Susan. In 1987, she starred in the flop film Who's That Girl. The film showed strong promised, but basically flopped worldwide. The soundtrack to the film, however, was the bigger hit of the two and went on to sell 8 million copies worldwide, and includes some pretty big hits. Granted, the soundtrack isn't Madonna's best - I'm Breathless is - but this is a worthy album for any Madonna fan's collection. If you're a Madonna fan and were thinking of purchasing this record without hesitation, beware! The album has only nine songs on it - and only four of those are by Madonna herself. The others are by lesser-known acts such as Duncan Faure, Club Nouveau, Michael Davidson, Scritti Politti and Coati Mundi! Because of this - and because the record says "Madonna" at the top - I will only be reviewing the songs by Madonna...
Who's That Girl starts with the massive UK No.1 single of the same name, Who's That Girl (10/10). It topped the UK chart in July 1987 and was also a US No.1. The song has some fun lyrics and the bassline and beats are very traditional of Madonna's musical style at the time - very upbeat, poppy and fun. Causing A Commotion (10/10) is the next song. Released in September of 1987, the song peaked at No.4 in the UK and was a big hit with audiences at Madonna's "Who's That Girl?" World Tour in 1987. The song has the usual big beats and catchy, funky and melodic beats to groove around to. The Look Of Love (9/10) is another excellent mid-tempo ballad from Madonna, which peaked at No.9 in the UK in December 1987. The lyrics, "No where to run/No where to hide/From the look of love/From the eyes of mine," are not only catchy, but instantly recognisable. The bassline is heavy and the beat has a great "bouncy" feel to it. The final song from Madonna on Who That Girl - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is Can't Stop (9/10). This song is yet another superb pop dance hit from Madonna. It was never released as a single, like the other three songs I have just written about, but it definitely deserved to be. At almost five minutes, it's the longest song on this soundtrack which gives you more time to get into it. The song sounds almost identical to Where's The Party or Love Makes The World Go Round from Madonna's 1986 release, True Blue. The beat is bouncy, Madonna's voice is on top-form and the vocal arrangement is genius. OK, the lyrics aren't exactly the best in the world - but that doesn't matter! Live a little! Get up and get your groove on to Madge!
