Classic Records

Classic Records use "Classic Quiex SV - Super Vinyl" which is a superior vinyl formula that enhances the records sound to gain more detailed and "richer harmonics" with a "more precise soundstage presentation." Without a doubt, these are fine audiophile albums.

"Norah Jones, Come Away With Me - 200 Gram - 45 Speed - 4 Pieces of Vinyl in a Box Set"

NORAH JONES - COME AWAY WITH ME - CLASSIC RECORDS BOX SET - CURRENTLY IN AN OUT OF PRINT SITUATION - DON'T MISS OUT - THE AUDIOPHILE 45 SPEED BOX SET THAT INCLUDES FOUR 12" ONE SIDED PIECES OF VINYL. THE NOW RARE 45 SPEED FOUR LP BOX SET OF THE SAME TITLE. THIS TITLE HAS GONE IMMEADIATELY OUT OF PRINT. THE WORD IN THE INDUSTRY IS THAT CLASSIC RECORDS PREVIOUSLY RELEASED TITLES ARE NOW OUT OF PRINT. IF THAT IS TRUE THESE MASTERPIECES ARE GOING TO BE PRICELESS. Classic Records' newest formulation: CLARITY SV-P II CLEAR VINYL! The genesis of the new formula came as a result of a visit to High End Audio's self proclaimed Vinyl Guru Michael Fremer's Analog Laboratory. Mr. Fremer demonstrated a Furutech LP demagnetizer. After using the demagnetizer, vocals had so much more texture, bass definition and clarity of every nuance of the recording was vastly improved and there was more low level information than we had ever heard in the recording. Why did the demagnetizer had the sonic effects on a record? Very simply the carbon black that is ADDED to vinyl for LP manufacture contains trace metals that become randomly magnetized and interfere electrically with the cartridge hanging overhead during play. So... if carbon black and the trace metals contained therein caused playback distortion in the cartridge then why not take out the carbon black altogether? Classic Records Clarity SV-P II Clear Vinyl is the answer! Clarity Vinyl represents the ultimate in vinyl formulations because it is comprised of over 90% percentage of the highest quality co-polymer available - a key component in vinyl pellets used for manufacturing vinyl records. Further, Clarity Vinyl has no carbon black additive, common in vinyl formulas for LP's. Carbon Black contains trace metals that become magnetized and cause "electrical distortions" in cartridges during playback that smears the sound. By taking out the Carbon Black, Classic Records is able to dramatically reduce the "electrical distortions" and thus bring more "Clarity" to the playback process, providing a more realistic musical experience to the listener and LP enthusiast. 45 rpm records have long been recognized as providing a higher fidelity musical experience resulting purely from the cartridge being able to extract more of the nuance from the complex vertical and horizontal groove modulations in stereo LP's. Further, Classic Records 45 rpm "single sided" pressings dramatically reduce the mechanical resonances created by the cartridge during playback by allowing these resonances to be more fully transmitted to and absorbed by the turntable platter. Classic Records Clarity Vinyl 45 rpm pressings are designed and manufactured to provide the "LOWEST DISTORTION" in every aspect of LP playback resulting in putting the listener as close to the music as possible. 200 Gram Heavy Vinyl LP by Classic Records has been critically acclaimed as the finest and quietest ever produced. It is a new listening experience that will virtually make you feel as if you were in the studio. Genre-busting artists often disappoint stylistically because they end up diluting the power of their influences while failing to create a fusion as substantial as any of the components. Even if artistically successful, their debut albums often suffer disappointing sales due to marketing and promotional placement vagaries. Tossing music into a pre-fabricated slot is one thing: creating a new one is another. In the case of stylistically ambiguous NORAH JONES, it has all come together brilliantly. This, her debut album, quickly attracted a strong following when it was issued early last year on Blue Note (though it is not a jazz album), and it appears to be building a growing fan base as diverse as Jones' musical influences. If all of this is old news, sorry. The occasion for this review is Classic's recent 200g SV-CLARITY vinyl issue. For cynics in the music business who dismiss the value or commercial viability of careful A&R work (finding and compiling good tunes), of smart, spare production and "high fidelity" engineering, and of simply presenting an artist honestly, the continued success and extended shelf-life of Come Away With Me should be a shock to the system (though you could say Diana Krall's discography has already shocked that system). While Come Away With Me explores new musical territory, it is built upon the aforementioned old-fashioned 1950's record biz ingredients. Key to the album's distinctive country-jazz feel is Jones' Floyd Cramer-ish piano chordings propelled by Lee Alexander's syncopated double-bass beat. Adam Levy's electric guitar lines on the title track ring more of country twang than jazz virtuosity, but the references, as with everything on this disc, are understated. You get the sense that one of Jones' first recorded encounters with the piano was Floyd Cramer's "bent-note" laden "Last Date." The Cramer influence makes even more sense considering the late pianist's eclectic musical background: he played with Elvis, Perry Como, Roy Orbison and jazz/country guitarist Hank Garland. But then, I'm just speculating. Despite the star's piano, guitars dominate most of the arrangements, helping to add another layer of musical complexity Jones' breathy, feline vocals reference neither a Patricia Barber-style hipster nor an early k.d. lang cowboy; the lilting roll to her "L"s and a number of other subtle affectations suggest black vocal influences or maybe that's her racial heritage speaking. From the cover photo even that's ambiguous. Out of desperation to slot her somewhere, she's been compared to Billie Holiday, perhaps because of her pitch and timbre. Whatever the crafty complex components of the musical mix, when Jones suggests "Come Away With Me," on the title track, you definitely want to go. Songwriting chores are shared by Jones, bassist Alexander and guitarist Jesse Harris (who recently cut his own solo recording deal) and there are Hank Williams ("Cold, Cold Heart"), and John D. Loudermilk ("Turn me on") covers. Accenting the unpredictable, the set ends with Jones soloing on the Hoagy Carmichael standard "The Nearness of You."

"Norah Jones, Feels Like Home - 200 Gram - CURRENTLY SOLD OUT"

NORAH JONES - FEELS LIKE HOME - LAST COPY FOREVER This 200 Gram Heavy Vinyl LP by CLASSIC RECORDS VIA BLUE NOTE JAZZ LABEL has been critically acclaimed as the finest and quietest ever produced. It is a new listening experience that will virtually make you feel as if you were in the studio This sensational follow up to Norah's "Come Away with Me" features the same mixture of great songs with Norah's sexy and alluring vocals. Produced by the legendary Arif Mardin and cut from the original two track ANALOG master tapes on the all tube Bernie Grundman Mastering chain makes for a great record with lots of vibe. This release features a deluxe gatefold cover and is not to be missed Norah Jones took the world (and the Grammys) by storm with her debut album Come Away With Me. Now, she's back for one of the most-anticipated follow-ups in recent memory. On Feels Like Home, Jones again teams with producer Arif Mardin, engineer Jay Newland and her close-knit touring band. She's written several new songs, gathered a few more from her bandmates and also covered Townes Van Zandt, Tom Waits, Kathleen Brennan and Duke Ellington. Jones plays piano, Wurlitzer electric piano and pump organ and features her stripped-down core group of guitar, background vocals, bass and drums. We needn't describe Jones' singing. Everyone recognizes it by now. The arrangements aren't quite as mellow as Come Away With Me, but the music still centers on country, pop and jazz colors. "I'm glad that people liked the last album," Jones said. "It was where I was at the time, musically. This is where I am now. That's what a recording is for me, like a snapshot. We had so much fun making this record." 1. Sunrise 2. What Am I To You? 3. Those Sweet Words 4. Carnival Town 5. In The Morning 6. Be Here To Love Me 7. Creepin' In 8. Toes 9. Humble Me 10. Classic Records has proven to be an Audiophile Company second to none in the new millennium. But Classic Records, unlike other top Audiophile Companies, does not place Limited Edition numbers on their LP jackets. 2 years ago, Classic Records changed their vinyl weight from 180 gram to 200 gram. These First Editions have become some of the rarest pressings in the Audiophile Collector's Market. Just try to find them at any Audiophile Retailer. You might still find some limited inventory of MFSL or DCC pressings but I will bet my bottom dollar that you won't be able to find any of these 180 gram Classic Records First Editions. They are simply gone from the market and Mymusicfix has seen these First Editions sell for over $300. In the long term, First Editions will be what Collectors seek. This 180 Gram pressing was tremendously limited before Classic Records shifted their vinyl weight to 200 Grams. When you take that into consideration, what will this First Edition Audiophile Pressing be worth in the years ahead? It could be one of the most collectible pressings ever in this 180 Gram First Edition. How rare and valuable are each one of these 180gram sets now still Factory Sealed? Priceless! ROUGH MIX, Pete Townshend's 1977 collaboration with former Small Faces songwriter and bass player Ronnie Lane combines the loose rollicking folk-rock of Lane's former band, Slim Chance, with touches of country, folk, and New Orleans rock and roll along with Townshend's own trademark style. Lane's tunes, especially the beautiful ANNIE possess an understated charm, while Townshend with songs such as MISUNDERSTOOD, THE Meher Baba-inspired KEEP ME TURNING, and the strange love song MY BABY GIVES IT away, delivers some of the best material of his solo career. Guests on this recording include Eric Clapton, John Entwistle and Charlie Watts.

"Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin IV - 200 Gram with bonus LP"

Classic 2nd Edition 200 Gram LP. LED ZEPPELIN IV. This Classic RECORDS OUT OF PRINT RARE Limited Edition 200 Gram factory sealed Audiophile Mastered LP (from the Original Session Tapes) was mastered by both Jimmy Page and the guru technician, Bernie Grundman. PLUS BONUS OF THE 1984 ORIGINAL RELEASE OF THE HONEYDRIPPERS EP VINYL LP - this title has a small cutout in this original release jacket cover. THE HONEYDRIPPERS VOLUME ONE ORIGINAL 1984 EP VINYL LP - I think Smokey Robinson first sang that line in "Second That Emotion." That's true here, because after you listen to this one you'll want more than five songs, and you'll want a Volume II. Whether you're a Led Zep fanatic intrigued by another Plant/Page pet project, or a nostalgic type attracted to the crooning vocals and big band sound, this is a keeper. I'm the former, and I have to say Robert Plant's vocals are transcending. Yes, it's the guy who sang "Whole Lotta Love" leading the Spectoresque wall of duop sound in the first track here, "I Get a Thrill." The Phil Phillips classic, "Sea of Love," is covered nicely: It sounds like Page & Co. took an iron to the Phillips track. "Rockin' at Midnight" is unleashed big band fun, and "I Got A Woman" does fine justice to the Ray Charles effort. And on "Young Boy Blues," Robert's voice is ethereal, matching his "Sea" try and reminiscent of earlier croons with and without Led Zeppelin, like "I'm Gonna Crawl" and "Big Log." Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and company show that great rock musicians are great musicians, period. The string sections, big band sound, beautiful arrangements, and gorgeous guitar solos underscore the tremendous talent that recreated this music. It's true that Volume I was intended to be released without the artists' identities, but fat chance with such a fine ensemble. The LP is lush, well produced, and easy to listen to. My only gripe here is that I wanted more, and indeed Volume II was never to be. Still, I must recommend it -- if you don't like it, I assure you that someone else you know will 1. I Get a Thrill 2. The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and ears. The ultimate record - the way music was meant to be heard. This is the famous version of Porgy and Bess that was supposed to have Gladys Knight singing the part of Bess. When Ray Charles offered the part to Gladys, having just come of the hit "Midnight train to Georgia", her manager at the time, would only allow her to participate if she owned the masters. According to Ray, he said, "well now you know that just won't be possible" to which her manager responded that she wouldn't be available. Ray told me that his mother taught him the meaning of "NO" and hence he asked Cleo Laine, who did a beautiful job of singing the part. Ray was also in top form as this 2 LP edition mastered from the original analog masters shows very clearly. Now available on 200g Quiex Super Vinyl Profile for the first time. A must have! 1. "Miles Davis, Kind of Blue - 200 Gram Vinyl"

Classic 200 Gram LP, voted the #66 album of all time, perhaps the best jazz lp ever made. This is the one Jazz Record owned by people who don't listen to Jazz and with good reason. The band itself is extraordinary (proof of Miles Davis masterful casting skill). Listing John Coltrane and Julian Cannon Adderley on Saxophones, Bill Evans on Piano, and the crack Rhythm Unit of Paul Chambers on Bass and Jimmy Cobb on Drums. This recording was originally recorded at the wrong speed on Side A. When the tape was played back at the correct speed, the transfer was too fast but by accident, it was found that the second back up Master Tape was correct and had been sitting in the vaults since 1959 and is what is included here. Coltrane's artistry on Tenor is counter poised to Adderley's funky self on Alto Sax with Davis moderating between them as Bill Evans conjures up a still lake of sound on which they all walk. It was the key recording of what became Modern Jazz, music free of fixed harmony and forms the pop songs. In retrospect, every note seems perfect and every piece moves inexorably towards its destiny as one of, if not the best, Jazz Album ever made. Kind of Blue, the most successful Jazz album in history is back in print from Classic Records. Hear this masterpiece like never before on Classic's new Quiex SV-P 200-gram Super Vinyl. These are very limited and certainly won't last long. Grab it this time before it's out of print - Again! "Miles Davis' 1959 Kind of Blue is a truly revolutionary concept album that's also a giant hit. Instantly appealing on a dozen levels, it's still a best-seller after nearly a half-century." - Fred Kaplan, The Absolute Sound, December 2005 (included in Kaplan's "Best-Sounding Jazz LPs") -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. THIS IS OUR LAST COPY FOREVER OF THIS EDITION Classic Records has proven to be an Audiophile Company second to none in the new millennium. But Classic Records - NOW OUT OF BUSINESS, unlike other top Audiophile Companies, DID NOT place Limited Edition numbers on MOST OF their LP jackets. What Classic Records did change for Collectors of the finest vinyl pressings was establish a First Edition element to Classic Records Audiophile pressings. SOME Classic Records titles that were only produced in 200 Gram pressings had Out of Print and Very Limited Edition Collector's First Edition WITH ORIGINAL COMPLETE SEAL packaging. IN DREAMS was Mastered and cut, for the first time since the original issues, from the original two track analog masters engineered by the legendary Bill Porter. All Tube mastering and cutting on the Classic vintage Stereo cutting systems at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Authentic original artwork, and labels. Pressed on Classic 200g Quex SV-P at Record Technology Inc. This third Orbison release came on the heels of Lonely and Blue and Crying and includes the hits "Blue Bayou" and "All I Have To Do Is Dream." This Bill Porter recording directly onto two-track stereo offers two perspectives - mono from a fold of discreetly recorded stereo channels and a stereo presentation directly from the master. Porter intended the recording to be presented in Mono and as such recorded the channels discreetly so that the blend in combining (mixing) the two tracks makes for a perfectly layered musical presentation which supports Orbison's astonishing vocal exquisitely. The stereo version is the rarer original and is quite wonderful in its sonic presentation. 1. In Dreams 2. Lonely Wine 3. Shahdaroba 4. No One Will Ever Know 5. Sunset 6. House Without Windows 7. SOME Classic Records titles that were only produced in 200 Gram pressings are now Out of Print and Very Limited Edition Collector's First Edition ORIGINAL SEALED Pressings. These First Editions have become some of the rarest pressings in the Audiophile Collector's Market. Just try to find them at any Audiophile Retailer after the next few months. You might still find some limited inventory of M-F-S-L or DCC pressings and some of these 200 gram Classic Records titles will now become that rare in the collectors market. They are simply gone from the market and Mymusicfix has seen some these First Editions sell for over $300. When you take that into consideration, what will this First Edition Audiophile Pressing be worth in the years ahead? It could be one of the most collectible pressings ever in 200 Gram First Editions. How rare and valuable are each one of these 200 gram sets now still Factory Sealed? Priceless! Mymusicfix has a very limited amount of these now Rare Factory Sealed pressings. We're sure you may not have known about some of these titles existed. Have fun collecting these Masterpieces! These are tremendous titles and artists that Mymusicfix still has in these 200 Gram First Edition STICKERS but we have very few pieces left of each title and prices will continue to rise as inventory continues to dwindle. Pressed on Classic 200g Quex SV-P at Record Technology Inc. It would be an unpardonable oversight to overlook the contribution of Joe Melson to Roy Orbison's meteoric rise to stardom. If you glance at the list of titles which comprise this album, you will see Joe's name appears as co-writer on no less than five of the songs. These include "Only the Lonely", and "Blue Angel." Together, they developed the style of writing which has served as such a perfect vehicle for Roy Orbison's voice. Other tracks include: Bye-Bye Love - Cry - I Can't Stop Loving You - Come Back To Me - Raindrops - A Legend In My Time - I'm Hurtin' - Twenty-Two Days - I'll Say It's My Fault.

"Norah Jones, Not Too Late - 200 Gram"

NORAH JONES - NOT TOO LATE - This 200 Gram Heavy Vinyl LP by Classic Records has been critically acclaimed as the finest and quietest ever produced. Not Too Late finally showcases the true vocal talents of Norah Jones, who has been on top of the musical world since her Come Away With Me debut in 2003. That initial release and its follow up, Feels Like Home no doubt alerted the world to the phenomenal abilities of this young singer, but those who'd seen her live reported a command of nuance that never quite came across in her recorded work. Not Too Late, with Jones' vocals more confidently in the front of the mix, is this rising superstar's most solid and fluid record to date. Mastered by Bernie Grundman directly from the original half-inch analog master tapes and pressed at RTI on Classic's 200-gram vinyl. Musicians: Norah Jones - vocals, piano Lee Alexander - bass Andrew Borger - drums Adam Levy - guitars Daru Oda - background vocals -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings 1. Classic Original Master 1st Generation 180 Gram Pressing, "Out of Print, Last Copies." On this BRIDGE recording, Rollins makes a shattering return from sabbatical. He is joined by the youthful Jim Hall, who makes a great partner. The Bridge has many symbolisms (in his life, and literally as the 1600 ft bridge connecting the New York boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn), but musically the Album is a BRIDGE between Sonny Rollins who rose quickly to a position of top rank among the saxophonists of the post-bop era of Modern Jazz development in the fifties and the Sonny Rollins to be of the sixties. This Album is a historic moment in jazz. Tracks Include: "Without A Song" "Where Are You" "John S." "The Bridge" "God Bless The Child" and "You Do Something To Me"

                "The Honey Drippers, Volume One"

Classic Analog LP Pressing w/small cut out in cover. Features the unreal line-up of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck! ROBERT PLANT - THE HONEYDRIPPERS ORIGINAL 1984 RELEASE ( of the long out of print FOR DECADES classic analog ORIGINAL RELEASE pressing with small cutout in cover) THE HONEYDRIPPERS VOLUME ONE ORIGINAL 1984 EP VINYL LP - I think Smokey Robinson first sang that line in "Second That Emotion." That's true here, because after you listen to this one you'll want more than five songs, and you'll want a Volume II. "The Who, Who's Next - Limited Deluxe Edition - 3 LP Set"

THE WHO - Who's Next Limited Deluxe Edition 3 LP SET - 150 Gram Vinyl This is the 1990's original Collection pressing. This album was originally released in August of 1971 and became The Whos most acclaimed work (recently voted the Thirteenth Best Album of All-Time and The Whos only #1 Album ever). Springing out of Pete Townsend's never fulfilled realized "Lifehouse Project" which is cover in the two bonus LP's, it revolutionized popular music by introducing the use of pre-programmed synthesizers and sequencing. Variously informed by apocalyptic visions, sci-fi notions of interconnectivity that neatly presaged the internet and, of course, an unwavering conviction that rock & roll would save the world, the core tracks of the sprawling Lifehouse were recorded, cut, re-recorded and finally boiled down into a collection that seems to represent as much alienation ("Behind Blue Eyes") and overweening cynicism ("Won't Get Fooled Again") as it does liberation and unity. Aside from Townshend's own self-released, multi-disc meditation on the project, this expanded new edition is the most rewarding attempt to place Lifehouse and the over-exposed classic it spawned in their proper context. Six tracks from the album's original, but abandoned New York sessions flesh out the familiar material, with previously unreleased outtakes of "Getting in Tune" and a revealing, early arrangement of "Won't Get Fooled Again" warranting special note. The second disc documents one of Lifehouse's most quixotic elements with the first-time release of one of the series of concerts staged at London's Young Vic theater during the project's gestation, events during which band and audience would somehow mystically become One. Core tracks from the project are interspersed with typical hard-rocking Who fare of the time, resulting in a show whose focus and dynamics belied something very different from the arena-rock cliches that would eventually overwhelm them. But it still produced The Who's Next LP that features some of The Whos all-time biggest tracks including the Seventeenth Best Single of All-Time - Won't Get Fooled Again - Baba O'Riley, Behind Blue Eyes and more. Who's Next set a rock standard that even its creators struggled to emulate. This LP was principally recorded at Olympic Studios in England and had additional personnel of Leslie West, guitar - Nicky Hopkins, piano - Al Kooper, organ. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings Disc One - Side One The Original Album 1.
