After more than 10 years working the Midwest club circuit, Detroit's Bob Seger hit mainstream American pay dirt with this distillation of working-class values and juke-joint rock and roll. The depth and dimension of the music is delivered back to you with all the dynamics and richness of the live recording session. With Mobile Fidelity, you will come as close as possible to hearing the three-dimension quality of the music just as the artist intended it to be. Bob Seger was seven years into his recording career and a regional rock star in the Detroit area when he broke nationally in 1976 with a concert album, Live Bullet, and his best-ever studio album, Night Moves. The song "Night Moves" is a brawny rock ballad about coming-of-age sexually; the album itself built on the experience of Seger's previous work to find him maturing artistically. Seger's a powerful singer who's always believed in the traditional rock trimmings of a big beat accompanied by Chuck Berry figures on the guitar and hammering riffs on the piano. He deploys such techniques with equal assurance on an oldie ("Mary Lou") and on his own heavier rockers ("The Fire Down Below," "Sunspot Baby"). But it was with songs like "Mainstreet" and "Night Moves" that he found a way to address the frustrations and fun of the working class lives of his primary audience. And with the rip-roaring "Rock and Roll Never Forgets," he produced an anthem that would keep them rocking way past the age of consent. Track Listings 1. Rock and Roll Never Forgets 2. Night Moves 3. The Fire Down Below 4. Sunburst 5. Sunspot Baby 6. Main Street 7. Come to Poppa 8. Ship of Fools 9. Mary Lou

"Crystal Gayle, One Must Believe In Magic - Factory Sealed MFSL - JVC Half-speed Japanese Pressing"

MFSL ORIGINAL SEALED LP - CRYSTAL GAYLE - WE MUST BELEIVE IN MAGIC - This is a MFSL Super Virgin Vinyl (so pure that you can see through it if held up to the light) JVC Half-Speed Japanese Pressing. Recording is from the Victor Company of Japan for state of the art audiophile pressings. THIS PRESSING HAS THE ORIGINAL LIMITED EDITION MARKETING STICKER ON THE FRONT THIS IS OUR LAST COPY FOREVER. Must Believe In Magic" was originally released in mid 1977, & commercially, it was a breakthrough album for Crystal--it peaked at #12 on the Billboard charts & was certified platinum within a year of its original release, largely thanks to the huge, million-selling hit "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue". The album really did deserve the success, because most of the album is great, displaying Crystal at her best--as ever, her vocals are consistently sumptuous, & although she didn't write anything here, her expressiveness is one-of-a-kind & she consistently comes up with just the right treatment to get maximum impact from each track--in other words, she very much makes the songs her own. The aforementioned "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" opens the album--it's somewhat jazz-flavored and it's wonderfully breezy with an irresistible rolling piano part, and it's melancholy, yet not depressing--as good as it is, don't let its commercial success fool you... Not only are there a bunch of other great songs here, but the album is also impressively varied--there's the amusingly dramatic "River Road", the stomping bluesy rocker "Green Door", the wistful ballad "Make A Dream Come True", the somewhat frantic Cole Porter cover "It's All Right With Me", the stately, otherworld-ish title track with hypnotic wordless vocals from Crystal, & the punchy, somewhat sneering "All I Wanna Do In Life", all of which are gems. As much credit as Crystal herself deserves, you also can't deny the excellent job by producer Allen Reynolds--there's lots of neat stuff going on like the clanking percussion, flutes, & phasing on "All I Wanna Do In Life", the cool orchestration on "Make A Dream Come True", a combination of fiddle and biting guitar on "It's All Right With Me", & Moog synthesizer (and god knows what else) on the title track. The weakest track is the somewhat ho-hum ballad "Going Down Slow", but it's still got the cool interplay of the phased guitar line & the orchestration. I have a complaint with this album, & it's the same complaint I have with so many of Crystal's albums--it's too darn short!! Clocking in right around half an hour, it really cries out for a couple more songs. Yes, I'd rather have half an hour of great material than 15 minutes of great material & 25 minutes of dreck--I'm not denying the consistent high quality of this album, but it is on the short side. Still though, this is a highly recommended album. Plus, the album sleeve with the checker-board style of the photograph of Crystal with her increasingly ultra-long hair is smile-inducing. Don't expect to find the Razor & Tie label's CD release of this album at a low price. Tracks from this album regularly crop up on Crystal compilation CDs of which there are a LOT. There are also a lot of vinyl copies around that you can probably get at a very reasonable price so you can hear ALL of the tracks from the album in their original running order. "We Must Believe In Magic" is a great showcase for one of the most sublime vocalists of all time, Crystal Gayle. Product Description 1. "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" (Richard Leigh) - 2:37 2. "I Wanna Come Back to You" (Johnny Christopher/Samuel Hogin) - 2:54 3. "River Road" (Sylvia Fricker Tyson) - 3:08 4. "It's All Right with Me" (Cole Porter) - 2:32 5. "Going Down Slow" (B. Bond) - 3:41 6. "All I Wanna Do in Life" (Allen Reynolds/Sandy Mason Theoret) - 2:26 7. "Make a Dream Come True" (Larry Kingston) - 3:06 8. "Green Door" (Bobby David/Marvin Moore) - 3:11 9. "Funny" (L. Anderson) - 2:05 10. "David Foster, The Best Of Me - Factory Sealed MFSl JVC Vinyl"

MFSL ORIGINAL FACTORY SEALED LP - DAVID FOSTER - THE BEST OF ME - This is a MFSL Super Virgin Vinyl (so pure that you can see through it if held up to the light) JVC Half-Speed Japanese Pressing. THIS recording is from the Victor Company of Japan for state of the art audiophile pressings. David Foster was among the most commercially successful producers and composers in all of popular music, lending his signature sweeping power ballad aesthetic to smash hits from Celine Dion, Chicago and Whitney Houston and in the process virtually defining the adult contemporary format. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Foster began studying piano at the age of five, and just eight years later enrolled in the University of Washington's music program. At 16, he joined Chuck Berry's backing band, and in 1971 relocated to Los Angeles with his group Skylark, scoring a major hit the following year with the single "Wildflower." Foster also became a sought-after session keyboardist, appearing on recordings from superstars including John Lennon, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross and Rod Stewart. Foster's production career began when he helmed the 1976 eponymous debut from his group Attitudes; he soon turned to outside projects as well, writing and producing material for Hall & Oates, Deniece Williams, Carole Bayer Sager, Boz Scaggs and the Average White Band. In 1979, he earned his first Grammy Award for penning Earth, Wind and Fire's "After the Love Has Gone." From there Foster's career exploded, and he was soon writing and producing for artists including Kenny Rogers, the Tubes and Kenny Loggins. In 1982, he won a second Grammy for producing the original cast album to the Broadway hit Dreamgirls; he also composed and produced Chicago's hit "Hard to Say I'm Sorry," followed in 1983 by work on Lionel Richie's blockbuster Can't Slow Down. With 1984's Chicago 17, Foster scored his greatest success to date, with the smash single "Hard Habit to Break" earning him a Grammy for Producer of the Year. A year later, Foster wrote and produced John Parr's hit "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)," and in 1986 reunited with Chicago, not only for their 18 LP, which launched the hit "Will You Still Love Me," but also with the group's singer, Peter Cetera, for whom he wrote the chart-topping "The Glory of Love." By now Foster was among the most successful producers in pop -- though reviled by critics, his work was enormously successful on the charts, with dozens of Top 40 hits. However, he was atypically quiet during the latter half of the 1980s, most notably teaming with Neil Diamond on his 1988 album The Best Years of Our Lives and working on a variety of film projects and one-off studio dates. In 1990 Foster began his collaboration with Celine Dion, writing and producing material for her Unison album and generating the hit "Have a Heart." A year later, he teamed with Natalie Cole for her mega-hit Unforgettable, winning three more Grammys: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Producer of the Year. In 1992, Foster collaborated with Whitney Houston on the soundtrack to her hit film The Bodyguard, which netted him another Album of the Year Grammy at the following year's award ceremonies, with the blockbuster single "I Will Always Love You," also winning Record of the Year. Again, he took home Producer of the Year honors as well; additionally, "When I Fall in Love," the theme to Sleepless in Seattle performed by Celine Dion and Clive Griffin, garnered Foster another trophy as arranger. For Dion, he next produced 1993's The Colour of My Love, which spawned the smash "The Power of Love," and a year later, he helmed All-4-One's I Swear. With Dion's 1996 Falling Into You, Foster again took home the Album of the Year Grammy; the blockbuster Because You Loved Me, with the title track the main theme song from Up Close & Personal, was also a nominee in the Record of the Year category. A major hit from that same year was Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart." The solo Love Lights the World followed in the spring of 2000. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide AUDIOPHILE MASTERING OF THESE TITLES Track Listings 1. Whatever We Imagine 2. Our Romance 3. Chaka 4. "Donald Fagen, Nightfly - Factory Sealed MFSL Half-speed Japanese Pressing - CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK"

MFSL ORIGINAL SEALED LP - DONALD FAGEN - NIGHTFLY - This is a MFSL Super Virgin Vinyl (so pure that you can see through it if held up to the light) JVC Half-Speed Japanese Pressing. THIS recording is from the Victor Company of Japan for state of the art audiophile pressings. COLLETORS NOTE - this copy has a round cutout underneath the plastic seal. This MFSL LP was pressed in Japan before Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs eventually pressed their Lps in the United States. The LP was Half-Speed Mastered with the Ortofon Cutting System from the Original Stereo Master Tapes. This MFSL LP has a special static free, dust free inner sleeve and heavy-duty protective packaging. This LP has been Out of Print for 20 years and a bonafide audiophile?s collectible. Donald Fagen's 1982 solo debut extends the sleek, smart pop craft of his work with STEELY DAN into the realm of the concept album, taking the Dan's penchant for intricate plotting, evocative narrative voices, and allusive imagery to the logical next step. Fagen's connective thread is futurist nostalgia for the "New Frontier" as anticipated from the prosperous vantage point of late-'50s America. He romanticizes a brave new world of technology in the sultry diorama of "I.G.Y.," celebrating the coming glories of the Atomic Age. He then filters that view through his own suburban adolescence--a would-be seduction in a fallout shelter, the siren song of a graveyard-shift jazz DJ, a not-quite-hard-boiled noir adventure ("The Goodbye Look") that borrows its title from an early '60s ROSS MACDONALD mystery. Song for song, the set's a stunner and stands apart from Steely Dan thanks to a unique, poignant romanticism embodied in Fagen's yearning "Maxine" and a creamy update of DION AND THE BELMONTS "Ruby Baby." 1. With Mobile Fidelity, you will come as close as possible to hearing the three-dimension quality of the music just as the artist intended it to be. In the Seventies, numerous rock and pop groups attempted to produce a maximum of sound on the stage with a minimum of manpower. The majority of them failed miserably in their struggles to master the Moog synthesizer with its 28 million varieties of sound -- but not so for Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer. Their legendary rock version of Mussorgsky's piano cycle, which was set down for posterity during a live concert in Newcastle's City Hall, towers above all other recordings of the kind. Perhaps their success is due to the fact that the trio steered away from the temptation of creating electronic, grandiose sound effects. Their vocals, guitar and drums produced a highly original and contemporary yet soulful rendering. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track Listings Side One 1. Peaches and Diesel Details Contributing artists: Marcy Levy, Yvonne Elliman Producer: Glyn Johns Distributor: n/a Recording type: Studio Recording mode: Stereo SPAR Code: n/a SLOWHAND was the album which defined the new cool of Eric Clapton, a sultry, laid-back mix of rock and blues, with a heavy dose of country and southwestern regional sounds to leaven the blend. After LAYLA, SLOWHAND was probably Clapton's most popular, fully realized solo disc. The opening number was by J.J. Cale, whose "After Midnight" had been one of the real joys of the guitarist's first solo excursion, ERIC CLAPTON. "Cocaine," with its slow grinding beat, menacing melodic vamp and one-step from perdition lyrics, was the toughest, most rocking number on SLOWHAND, and a major radio hit from the outset. A couple of vocal duets with countryish harmonies set the tone for the rest of SLOWHAND. "Lay Down Sally" was a funky, chicken-fried bit of boogie with a taut, melodic aside from Clapton's twangy Stratocaster, while Don Williams' sweet, soulful "We're All The Way" provided a low-key vehicle for Clapton's tender vocal exchanges with Marcy Levy, as his understated arpeggios toll away in the background.
