"Nirvana, In Utero - Factory Sealed MFSL Gold CD - CURRENTLY SOLD OUT"

In Utero [Gold Disc CD] Track listing 1. Serve the Servants 2. Scentless Apprentice 3. Heart-Shaped Box 4. Rape Me 5. Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle 6. Dumb 7. Very Ape 8. Milk It 9. Pennyroyal Tea 10. Radio Friendly Unit Shifter 11. Tourette's 12. All Apologies Nirvana: Kurt Cobain (vocals, guitar); Kris Novoselic (bass); Dave Grohl (drums). Additional personnel: Kera Schaley (cello). IN UTERO was nominated for a 1994 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. "All Apologies" was nominated for 1995 Grammy Awards for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal and for Best Rock Song. "Teenage angst has paid off well," growls Kurt Cobain on IN UTERO's opening fusilade, "Serve The Servants," suggesting that perhaps success has spoiled Nirvana. Not! IN UTERO is a howling, defiantly punkish recording, an unsentimental throwback to an era of garage band epiphanies and raw, unadorned rock and roll. On IN UTERO, Nirvana rails against both "alternative" conformity and polished notions of commercial rock with the anthemic rage of true outcasts. Engineer-producer Steve Albini has enabled Nirvana to replicate the savage immediacy of their live sound--the sound of a band without commercial aspirations or pretensions, just thrashing away for the sheer joy of noise. Drummer Dave Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic play with heroic power as guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Kurt Cobain overlays their growling beat with shards of broken glass and shattered dreams. On "Scentless Apprentice" each Cobain power chord is tempered by a series of calculated dissonances and melodic fragments, while the singer bares his vulnerability and anger through Nirvana's familiar soft-hard-soft-hard structures on "Heart Shaped Box" and "Rape Me." Through his crunching guitar and elliptical lyrics on various diseases and recoveries, Cobain lays bare the turmoil and resentments, the physical and mental ailments (self-inflicted and otherwise) that have colored Nirvana's notoriety. Instead of celebrating their success, Nirvana have fashioned a powerful cautionary tale on IN UTERO, to wit: that fame, acclaim and wealth are not liberating; that music like this cannot be produced on an assembly line, then be used once and tossed on a scrap heap; that life and music was a lot more fun when they were back playing for an audience of nine in some grungy club. IN UTERO is too strong and honest to ignore.

"Nirvana, Nevermind - MFSL Factory Sealed 24-Karat Gold CD"

MFSL 24K GOLD CD, voted the #2 album of all time by VHI and the Associated Press. If Nevermind's sound is familiar now, it's only because thousands of rock records that followed it were trying very hard to cop its style. It tears out of the speakers like a cannonball, from the punk-turbo-charged riff of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" onward, magnifying and distilling the wounded rage of 15 years of the rock underground into a single impassioned roar. Few albums have occupied the cultural consciousness like this one; of its 12 songs, roughly 10 are now standards. The record's historical weight can make it hard to hear now with fresh ears, but the monumental urgency of Kurt Cobain's screams is still shocking Track Listings 1. Smells Like Teen Spirit 2. In Bloom 3. Come as You Are 4. Breed 5. Lithium 6. Polly 7. Territorial Pissings 8. Drain You 9. Lounge Act 10. Stay Away 11. On a Plain 12. Something in the Way

"Peter Frampton, Frampton Comes Alive - 2 CDs - MFSL Gold CD - CURRENTLY SOLD OUT"

MFSL 24K GOLD CD - Frampton Comes Alive [Gold Disc CD] Track listing DISC 1: 1. Introduction 2. Something's Happening 3. Doobie Wah 4. Show Me The Way 5. It's A Plain Shame 6. All I Want To Be (Is By Your Side) 7. Wind Of Change 8. Baby, I Love Your Way 9. I Wanna Go To The Sun DISC 2: 1. Penny For Your Thoughts 2. Money, (I'll Give You) 3. Shine On 4. Jumping Jack Flash 5. Lines On My Face 6. Do You Feel Like We Do Details Producer: Peter Frampton Distributor: n/a Recording type: Live Recording mode: Stereo SPAR Code: n/a Album notes Personnel: Peter Frampton (vocals, guitar); Bob Mayo (vocals, guitar, Fender Rhodes, piano, organ); Stanley Sheldon (vocals, bass); John Siomos (drums). Engineers include: Ray Thompson, Eddie Kramer. Includes liner notes by Cameron Crowe. Decades after its 1976 release, FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE! seems like an anomaly, with its unusual genesis almost impossible to believe. Peter Frampton, guitarist for a modestly successful boogie band (Humble Pie), released several solo records that were almost entirely ignored. However, he spent years crisscrossing the nation's sports arenas, opening for everyone under the sun, until so many people had seen him in America's hockey rinks that his double-LP live record became one of the most successful rock albums of all time. Listening to the whole record--not just the three pop-rock gems that immediately became FM radio staples ("Show Me the Way," "Baby, I Love Your Way," and the talkbox-enhanced jam "Do You Feel Like We Do")-- it's clear that its success is due to Frampton's road-tested mastery of the sweetly melodic material, which didn't rock this hard on the original studio recordings. Of course, FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE! also won over a legion of fans with its classic rock-god album cover. Any way you look at it, FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE! is a classic for a reason.

Item specifics - Music: CDs Artist: Pink Floyd Release Date: Jan 09, 1994 Format: CD Record Label: Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UPC: 015775159525 Genre: Rock Duration: Album or EP Sub-Genre: Psychedelic Rock Condition: Brand new Special Attributes: 24k Gold Disc, Remastered, Special Edition Detailed item info Track listing 1. Atom Heart Mother Suite: Father's Shout / Breast Milky / Mother Fore / Funky Dung / Mind Your Throats Please / Remergence 2. If 3. Summer '68 4. Fat Old Sun 5. Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast: Rise And Shine / Sunny Side Up / Morning Glory Details Playing time: 52 min. Producer: Pink Floyd Distributor: E1 Distribution (USA) Recording type: Studio Recording mode: Stereo Album notes Pink Floyd: David Gilmour (vocals, guitar); Roger Waters (vocals, bass instrument); Richard Wright (keyboards); Nick Mason (drums, percussion). Additional personnel: John Alldis Choir (background vocals). Recording information: EMI Studios, London, England; Abbey Road Studios, London, England. When rock operas by the Kinks and the Who were relatively new and Deep Purple was working with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Pink Floyd entered the '70s with ATOM HEART MOTHER, a symphonic endeavor whose centerpieces are two long compositions divided up into movements. Starting out as a chord sequence written by Dave Gilmour, the title track became a sprawling masterpiece co-written and arranged by Scottish composer Ron Geesin. Throughout 20 minutes of movements titled "Breast Milky," "Funky Dung," and "Mind Your Throat Please," grandiose brass sections bubble over, otherworldly choruses strike a chord of impending doom, and individual Floyd contributions pop up amid all the orchestration. The other sprawling piece, "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast," starts out with the sounds of someone puttering about in his home and occasionally muttering to himself, broken up by either the swirling keyboards of Richard Wright or the dulcet tones of David Gilmour's acoustic guitar. The remaining three tracks are Roger Waters' folkie ballad "If," the baroque psychedelic pop of Wright's "Summer '68," and Gilmour's "Fat Old Sun." ATOM HEART MOTHER is one of the band's more overtly experimental and challenging works; yet it remains a secret favorite of die-hard fans. Editorial reviews 4 Stars - Excellent - ...criminally underrated--the long title suite, benefitting from Ron Geesin's crazed but accomplished musical wit, is among their best work...

"Pink Floyd, Meddle - MFSL Gold CD"

Track listing 1. One Of These Days 2. Pillow Of Winds, A 3. Fearless 4. San Tropez 5. Seamus 6. Echoes Details Playing time: 46 min. Producer: Pink Floyd Distributor: n/a Recording type: Studio Recording mode: Stereo SPAR Code: AAD Album notes MEDDLE was the first album to hint at the musical identity that would define Pink Floyd in the mid- to late-'70s. Whereas prior releases like UMMAGUMMA and ATOM HEART MOTHER announced the presence of new singer/guitarist/songwriter David Gilmour, MEDDLE represents the band's Gilmour-influenced evolution toward a sleek, epic, spacey sound. In "Echoes," an ambitious 23-minute soundscape, the pinging of a synthesizer greets the listener before Gilmour's warm, open guitar and gentle crooning gives way to a repetitious, workmanlike rhythm. From here, the music fades into an abyss of whale calls and eerie sonic reverberations. Elsewhere, Floyd dabbles with straightforward cocktail-hour jazz ("San Tropez") and a twisted slow blues ("Seamus"). But it is "One of These Days," MEDDLE's opening track and lone radio staple, that truly previews things to come. Roger Waters's bass, played through a Binson echo unit, establishes the song's manically hypnotic groove, as Richard Wright's synthesizer bursts in and out, Nick Mason's off-kilter drum fills get tossed around, and Gilmour's guitar dive-bombs through it all. These varied sound effects, packaged in a song that clocked in at less than six minutes, were a precedent for the masterpiece that was two years away: DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. Editorial reviews 3 Stars - Good - ...The four were at their most collectively prolific at this time... Q (10/01/1994) ...not only confirms lead guitarist David Gilmour's emergence as a real shaping force with the group, it states forcefully and accurately that the group is well into the growth track again... "Queen, A Day at the Races - Factory Sealed MFSL Gold CD with J-Card"

MFSL 24K GOLD CD. This is Queen's fifth recording QUEEN - A DAY AT THE RACES - was originally released in 1977. A Day At The Races is Queens fifth recording and contains the hit singles Tie Your Mother Down and Somebody To Love -- classic Queen harmonies and operatic riffs. Via this recording, you can understand why they were recently voted by their peers as one of the Top 40 Artists of all-time.// This recording is mastered from the Original Session Tapes and the disc is custom pressed using 24-Karat Gold (known for its superior qualities and resistance to oxidation). This Out of Print Gold bonafide collectible disc has all Liner Notes, Photos, and Artwork from the Original LP faithfully recreated. Track listing 1. Tie Your Mother Down 2. You Take My Breath Away 3. Long Away 4. Millionaire Waltz, The 5. You And I 6. Somebody To Love 7. White Man 8. Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy 9. Drowse 10. Teo Torriatte :: Let Us Cling Together Details Producer: Queen Distributor: n/a Recording type: Studio Recording mode: Stereo SPAR Code: n/a Album notes Queen: Freddie Mercury (vocals, piano); Brian May (guitar, vocals); John Deacon (bass); Roger Taylor (vocals, percussion). Recorded in England between July and November 1976. A DAY AT THE RACES appeared almost exactly one year later after 1975's hugely successful A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, proving to be a more-than-deserving follow-up and nearly duplicating its predecessor's success. Queen was now a master of the recording studio, utilizing every piece of technology to its fullest, which helped push such demanding tracks as "Somebody to Love" over the top. But Queen certainly wasn't just about studio tricks; the band had the strong tunes to back up its rich sound. In addition to aforementioned gospel-tinged hit "Somebody to Love," the album features many other strong tracks--a politically-charged song about the plight of the American Indian ("White Man"), several touching love songs ("Teo Torriate," "You and I," "You Take My Breath Away"), and old-timey tunes ("The Millionaire Waltz"). Freddy Mercury and the boys also include a healthy dose of their trademark Queenly rock on "Tie Your Mother Down" and break out some excellent pop ditties in the form of "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" and "Long Away

"Queen, News Of The World - MFSL Gold CD"

News Of The World [Gold Disc CD] Track listing 1. We Will Rock You 2. We Are The Champions 3. Sheer Heart Attack 4. All Dead, All Dead 5. Spread Your Wings 6. Fight From The Inside 7. Get Down, Make Love 8. Sleeping On The Sidewalk 9. Who Needs You 10. It's Late 11. My Melancholy Blues Details Playing time: 39 min. Producer: Queen Distributor: n/a Recording type: Live Recording mode: Stereo SPAR Code: n/a Album notes Queen: Freddie Mercury (vocals, piano); Brian May (guitar, background vocals); John Deacon (bass); Roger Taylor (drums, background vocals). In the tradition of 1975's A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, NEWS OF THE WORLD solidified Queen's position as '70s rock gods while expanding the group's vision through an eclectic batch of tunes. The album is primarily known for the anthemic medley "We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions," which would grace sporting events worldwide for decades to come. Like OPERA, though, there's more to this album than the blockbuster hit. The Roger Taylor-sung "Sheer Heart Attack" veers damn close to punk. "Get Down, Make Love" is a funky, vamp-driven number that merges "Whole Lotta Love"-style effects with a brazen sensuality that could make Prince blush. Freddie Mercury indulges his cabaret fantasies with the supper club cha-cha of the Spanish guitar-laced "Who Needs You." Brian May sings the mournful, folkish piano ballad "All Dead, All Dead." Things get downright Cole Porter-ish on the jazzy torch song "My Melancholy Blues." Once again, Queen prove themselves to be capable of much more than the arena rock many take to be their stock in trade.

Item specifics - Music: CDs Artist: R.E.M. Release Date: Sep 15, 1995 Format: CD Record Label: Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UPC: 015775164222 Genre: Rock Duration: Performer Sub-Genre: Alternative & Indie Condition: Brand new Special Attributes: 24k Gold Disc, Remastered, Special Edition Track listing 1. Radio Free Europe 2. Pilgrimage 3. Laughing 4. Talk About the Passion 5. Moral Kiosk 6. Perfect Circle 7. Catapult 8. Sitting Still 9. 9-9 10. Shaking Through 11. We Walk 12. West of the Fields Producer: Don Dixon, Mitch Easter Distributor: n/a Recording type: Studio Recording mode: Stereo Album notes R.E.M.: Michael Stipe (vocals); Peter Buck (guitar); Michael Mills (bass, background vocals); Bill Berry (drums). Additional personnel: Jefferson Holt, Bertis Downs. Recorded at Reflection, Charlotte, North Carolina in January 1983. R.E.M.'s full-length debut is a landmark album that set the standard for the next 10 years of indie rock. The Athens quartet combined Byrdsy, folk-rock guitar jangle with obscurantist lyrics and a post-punk compositional sensibility to create a vibrant new sound that would soon be imitated by every high-school poet with a Rickenbacker guitar. R.E.M. was also one of the first bands to make the long, hard journey from college radio (when it was still college radio) to mainstream acceptance, and managed the difficult task of maintaining its integrity at every step along the way. MURMUR, far from an embryonic debut, shows a fully-formed unit with a strong artistic vision. (It was preceded by two legendary underground releases: The "Radio Free Europe" single--which was re-recorded for MURMUR--and the CHRONIC TOWN EP.) Producers Mitch Easter and Don Dixon's lofty reputations would have remained intact even if they had never worked on another record after this one. The gentle-but-insistent arrangements and glorious pop hooks of songs like "Catapult" and "Talk About The Passion" provide the perfect contrast to Michael Stipe's earnest, moody vocal style. Drummer Bill Berry's breathless effervescence provides the perfect backdrop for this album of jumpy, intellectual pop. Editorial reviews Rating: A Entertainment Weekly - Steve Daly (12/24/1993) Ranked #8 in Rolling Stone's 100 Best Albums Of The Eighties survey. Rolling Stone (11/01/1989) Included in AP's 10 Essential '80s Albums - ...REM made jangling guitars and mumbled lyrics hip again for American youth... Alternative Press (08/01/2001) Ranked #7 in CMJ's Top 20 Most-Played Albums of 1983. CMJ (01/05/2004) 4 stars out of 5 -- MURMUR was a friendly ghost -- brooding but elegant, new-wave moody but folk-rock sunny, hesitant but hopeful. Blender 5 stars out of 5 -- [D]isarmingly beautiful music that mixes '60s folk significance with '80s new-wave ambivalence. Blender 5 stars out of 5 -- MURMUR promised not so much a new American underground, as an undergrowth, rustling with secrets. Q Spin Included in Spin's list of the Top Ten College Cult Classics - ...an unmitigated delight....spawned the entire breed of what has become known as `college rock'. 5 stars out of 5 -- [A]nthemic on a bedroom scale, danceable but not robotic, experimental without being oblique. Recorded at Reflection Sound, Charlotte, North Carolina. The murmuring continued with this, R.E.M.'s second album, recorded in only two weeks, and yet critical acclaim and a growing fanbase had not made the music any less elusive. From the cover depiction of a winding river/snake, the jangly music within was similarly ambiguous, drenched in alternately murky, then dazzlingly clear, images. The water theme predominates throughout side one's five-song suite, with talk of harbours, oceans and water towers, crowned by the sublime lament of "So. Central Rain." Later, the melancholic eulogy of "Camera" sits comfortably beside the cod-country of "(Don't Go Back To) Rockville" and the brisk but disillusioned tour around "Little America." An astonishingly assured and uncommercial half-sibling to MURMUR: file under water. Robbie Robertson [Gold Disc CD] - Sealed Track listing 1. Fallen Angel 2. Showdown At Big Sky 3. Broken Arrow 4. Sweet Fire Of Love 5. American Roulette 6. Somewhere Down The Crazy River 7. Hell's Half Acre 8. Sonny Got Caught In The Moonlight 9. Testimony Details Playing time: 44 min. Contributing artists: Daniel Lanois, Garth Hudson, Ivan Neville, Maria McKee, Peter Gabriel, Rick Danko, Terry Bozzio, The BoDeans, U2 Distributor: n/a Recording type: Studio Recording mode: Stereo SPAR Code: AAD Album notes Personnel includes: Robbie Robertson (vocals, guitar); Bill Dillon (guitar, background vocals); Tinker Barfield, Larry Klein, Abraham Laboriel, Hans Christian (bass); Tony Levin (Chapman stick); Manu Katche, Terry Bozzio (drums, percussion); Martin Page, Cary Butler (drum programming). Producers: Daniel Lanois, Robbie Robertson, Jim Scott, Gary Gersh. After dismantling The Band in the mid '70s, Robertson remained strangely inactive. Thus, the anticipation level was high when rumors of his impending solo album began to circulate at the tail end of the '80s. Rather than release a thowback retro effort to satiate the hearts of fans thirsting after The Band's brand of backwoods roots rock, Robertson stepped firmly into the present day. With the help of producer Daniel Lanios, the album is enveloped with modern textures. Robertson admirably handles the bulk of the vocal chores (keep in mind that he rarely sang a note with the Band). Nonetheless, numerous artists are drawn into the fold to beef up Robertson's effective, but limited, vocal abilities. Peter Gabriel helps transform the beautiful "Fallen Angel" (a moving eulogy to deceased Band member Richard Manuel) into a bona fide hymn that does justice to Manuel's memory. Bono injects heat into the "Sweet Fire of Love" while Robertson growls like a man who's somehow found an extra reserve of energy to lay his claim, once again, as one of the premiere talents of his generation. STRONG PERSUADER won a 1988 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Recording. STRONG PERSUADER won a 1988 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Recording. 1986's STRONG PERSUADER was a milestone both for Robert Cray and blues in the '80s. It earned Cray, a veteran of the Pacific Northwest blues scene, both his first solo Grammy and Top 30 hit ("Smoking Gun") along with a lift out of the blues ghetto which he'd been excelling in during recent years. As for the blues themselves, Cray infused fresh blood into a genre that had been limping along in that particular decade. With a smooth singing style to go with an equally recognizable guitar tone, Cray developed a sound that owed as much to soul stylist O.V. Wright as it did to Texas guitarist Albert Collins (with whom Cray had won a Grammy along with Johnny Copeland the prior year). The use of the Memphis Horns strengthened the soul connection on songs such as the punchy "Nothing But A Woman" and the chugging effervescence of "Guess I Showed Her." Of course, Cray's heart lay in the blues and when he wasn't lamenting the woes of infidelity in "Right Next Door (Because Of Me)" and a bad break-up in "Still Around," his guitar playing smoldered throughout the forlorn "New Blood." Editorial reviews Highly Recommended Ranked #42 in Rolling Stone's 100 Best Albums Of The Eighties survey. Rolling Stone (11/01/1989)

Camera Eye, The 6. Witch Hunt (Part III of "Fear") 7. Vital Signs Details Playing time: 40 min. Producer: Rush, Terry Brown Distributor: n/a Recording type: Studio Recording mode: Stereo SPAR Code: ADD Album notes Rush: Geddy Lee (vocals, bass, synthesizer); Alex Lifeson (acoustic & electric guitars); Neil Peart (drums, timbales, bells, percussion). Additional personnel: Hugh Syme (keyboards). Recorded at Le Studio, Quebec, Canada in October & November 1980. MOVING PICTURES is the intersection between Rush's '70s art-rock style and their sequencer-laced '80s efforts. An incredible stylistic leap for the band, the songs here incorporate reggae, percolating synth and even even a new wave-tinged early '80s pop sensibility. "Tom Sawyer," the ultimate alienated-teen saga, is the album's best known song. "Red Barchetta" picks up where 2112 left off with futuristic, sci fi-oriented lyrics. The instrumental "YYZ" is as far into straight-up progressive rock as the band had ever ventured. Things get socio-political on the ominous "Witch Hunt," and a Jamaican flavor enlivens "Vital Signs." The increased reliance on synthesizers and sequencers would later become irksome to old school Rush fans, but on MOVING PICTURES, electronics are tastefully applied to further the group's musical vision, making for what just might be their finest batch of songs.
