"Beatles, Antholoy II, Anthology III - 6 LPs"
BEATLES ANTHOLOGY II – 3-LP 45-Tracks - RARE U.S. Sealed APPLE LP RELEASE AS WELL AS ANTHOLOGY III - 3 LP SET 50 TRACKS - 6 LP'S TOTAL AND 90 PLUS TRACKS OF RARE BEATLES ON VINYL.
BOTH ARE THE TREMENDOUSLY RARE AMERICAN CAPITOL/APPLE PRESSED COPY.
HUNDREDS OF Minutes in length and long out of print.
There a must for any true collector. It's so rare that on some of these tracks "The Beatles" themselves had a hard time remembering who was participating on some of these masters tracks. These Anthology 3 LP sets (One, Two and Three) are long out of print and are becoming rarer and more valuable day by day especially in these LP pressings. Enjoy being one of the last people in the world to own this rare piece of The Beatles history on vinyl.
ANTHOLOGY II - The second in the series of Rare unreleased Beatles recordings covers the group’s famed middle period featuring George Harrison’s classic track 11 out-take of TAXMAN. "TAXMAN", the opening title on REVOLVER was Harrison’s acerbic and witty view of the inescapable realities of life. Track 12 was the Master Recording – this being a reduction or bounce of Track 11. (These are terms for a recording process taken up by The Beatles around this time, where, by merging two or more existing tracks of a tape while copying it across to a second tape, vacant tracks are created allowing for further overdubbing.
Abbey Road was still using 4-Track Recording Machines in 1966 so this process was often necessary.) Issued here for the first time on Vinyl is that Track 11 not dis-similar to the Master but with some notable differences, principally in the clean full ending (instead of the repeated guitar solo) and the “anybody got a bit of money?” backing vocals (instead of the Mr. Wilson Mr. Heath reference).
George Harrison penned ONLY A NORTHERN SONG. Although not issued on disc until YELLOW SUBMARINE soundtrack Album in January of 1969, Harrison’s ONLY A NORTHERN SONG was written and first intended for SGT. PEPPER, its place in the recording chronology coming between other PEPPER tracks, FIXING A HOLE and BEING FOR THE BENEFIT OF MR. KITE. The Master of ONLY A NORTHERN SONG combined Track 3 (with overdubs) and a “reduction” of this Track 11 (with further overdub), simultaneously mixed into Mono. The mixes presented here in Stereo and slightly sped up, is Track 3 the basic track from February 13th, 1967 with bass and guitar added on April 20th with unissued vocal tracks (yielding a number of lyric vibrations from the Master) overdub onto a separate “reduction”, Track 12, flown in.
The last Harrison penned track within ANTHOLOGY 2 is the Master of George Harrison’s composition that opened Side 2 of SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, presented here in a fashion not previously available on Vinyl remixed, without George’s vocal from the different original 4-track tapes that formed that Master. WITHIN YOU WITHOUT YOU (instrumental) what remains, audible to the fore is a combination of tamboura, tabla, dilruba and swaramandal tracks recorded in March with violins, cellos, and George’s sitar track overdubbed on April 3, 1967.
ANTHOLOGY 2 features out-takes, demos and alternate versions of songs from the albums, HELP, RUBBER SOUL, REVOLVER, SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, and MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR. There are also three previously unreleased Beatles Songs from 1965, several live cuts and the second of The Beatles new recordings, “Real Love”, which began as a late seventies demo and completed in 1995 by George Harrison, Paul Mc Cartney and Ringo Starr.

ANTHOLOGY III -
This masterpiece has, as its real discoveries, George Harrison’s 8 solo demos including the electric-guitar and-vocal performances of SOMETHING and ALL THINGS MUST PASS plus PIGGIES, MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS, NOT GUILTY, FOR YOU BLUE, OLD BROWN SHOE, I ME MINE. They nearly ache with beauty, and Harrison sings them as if discovering his voice for the first time. The finished versions couldn’t possibly stand up to these demos which are among the highlights of the BEATLES ANTHOLOGY Series and the only time ever on Vinyl.
If BEATLES ANTHOLOGY 2 was a study of how a Beatles song came together, ANTHOLOGY 3 is a study of how The Beatles themselves came apart. Mc Cartney was now an unabashed Pop Balladeer, Lennon a sneering Pop Humorist and Experimenter, and Harrison a separate song-writing force aching to be unleashed. This is a stunning example of Harrison coming into his own and his eventual release of ALL THINGS MUST PASS.

Booker T. Jones and his "Memphis Group" are most famous for their 1962 instrumental hit "Green Onions", which is one of the most recognisable instrumental songs ever. It was a No.3 hit in the pop charts when it was released, and has been used in many TV shows and adverts, films and video game soundtracks.
They have had other hits too, most notably "Soul Limbo" and "Melting Pot", which have also both been licensed to TV shows and soundtracks.
Aside from recording their own work, the group was the house band for Stax Records, one of the most famous soul labels of the 60s. Hits that featured Booker T & The MGs include: "Soul Man" by Sam & Dave, "Try A Little Tenderness" (and many others) by Otis Redding, "Knock On Wood" by Eddie Floyd, and "Who's Making Love?" by Johnnie Taylor. They also frequently collaborated with Isaac Hayes, and guitarist Steve Cropper became one of Stax's best songwriters and producers. It is said that The Beatles were big fans of Booker T & The MGs, and wanted to collaborate with them as they found Cropper's guitar-playing inspirational

DREAM BABY DREAM - 10" SINGLE - "Hardly the sort of cover you'd expect from the great man, but Bruce Springsteen's take on Suicide's 'Dream Baby Dream' is something very special. He'd close every night on his Devils & Dust tour with a version of this song – a repetitive and mesmeric lullaby of a thing, far away from the wordy, narrative pieces you'd associate with pared down Springsteen sets. If you look a little further back into his career, outside of the E Street Band, there are further traces of the Rev/Vega influence, chiefly in that Nebraska's 'State Trooper' owes much to 'Frankie Teardrop' in its oddly motorik, minimal rock & roll assemblage. Using only a looping organ figure with a little synthesizer to fill in the cracks, Springsteen keeps his arrangement of 'Dream Baby Dream' true to the spirit of the original, channeling vocals into the Roy Orbison-like shape that had characterized his delivery circa twenty years ago…To make a fair comparison between this and the original, the B-side begins with a previously unreleased Suicide performance, recorded for an NBC TV broadcast in 1979. Vega is in fine voice and the strange, snarling aloofness of it all is very much at odds with what goes down on the A. Finally, disbanded New York outfit Beat The Devil complete the EP with a hard rocking version of 'Mr Ray,' which is all good and well, but is inevitably overshadowed by the two tracks that came before it. Extremely limited. Don't miss out." – Bookmat

We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions - 2LP SET - 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION
Bruce Springsteen's 21st album, We Shall Overcome, The Seeger Sessions features Bruce's personal interpretations of 13 traditional songs, all of them associated with the legendary guiding light of American folk music, Pete Seeger, for whom the album is named. Speaking of the origins of new music, Springsteen said, "So much of my writing, particularly when I write acoustically, comes straight out of the folk tradition. Making this album was creatively liberating because I have a love of all those different roots sounds…they can conjure up a world with just a few notes a few words." Springsteen recorded the album with a large ensemble.

Steven Stills/Manassas 2 LPs - ORIGINAL 1ST 180 GRAM CLASSIC RECORDS WITH ORIGINAL COMPLETE WRAP EDITION After stops in The Buffalo Springfield, CSN(&Y) and a few solo albums for the Atlantic label, Stills recruited musical kindred-spirits including the likes of Chris Hillman (The Byrds) to form Manassas. The resulting debut, a 2-LP set from 1972, has been a perennial favorite since its release. It's a big bubbling cauldron of country-rock-blue(s)- grass with blue eyed soul mixings plus Stills' penchant for Latin riffs (Suite: Judy Blue Eyes) thrown in for flavor. This collection not only showcase Stills trademark voice and song writing, but finally lets his fiery guitar playing blaze through. Songs include Song Of Love, Rock and Roll Crazies/Cuban Bluegrass, Jet Set, Anyway, Both Of Us, Fallen Eagle, Jesus Gave Love Away For Free, Colorado, So Begins The Task, Hide It So Deep, Don't Look At My Shadow, It Doesn't Matter, Johnny's Garden, Bound To Fall, How Far, Move Around, The Love Gangster, What To Do, Right Now, Treasure and Blues Man

DAVID CROSBY - This title is the 200 gram CLASSIC RECORDS WITH ORIGINAL COMPLETE WRAP EDITION. David Crosby's debut solo album If I Could Only Remember My Name is a one-shot wonder of dreamy but ominous California ambience. The songs range from brief snapshots of inspiration (the angelic chorale-vocal showcase on "Orleans" and the a cappella closer, "I'd Swear There Was Somebody Here") to the full-blown, rambling Western epic "Cowboy Movie", and there are absolutely no false notes struck or missteps taken. No one before or since has gotten as much mileage out of a wordless vocal as Crosby does on "Tamalpais High (At About 3)" and "Song With No Words (Tree With No Leaves)", and because the music is so relaxed, each song turns into its own panoramic vista. Those who don't go for trippy Aquarian sentiment, however, may be slightly put off by the obscure, cosmic storytelling of the gorgeous "Laughing" or the ambiguous (but pointed) social questioning of "What Are Their Names", but in actuality it is an incredibly focused album. Even when a song as pretty as "Traction in the Rain" shimmers with its picked guitars and autoharp, the album is coated in a distinct, persistent menace that is impossible to shake. It is a shame that Crosby would continue to descend throughout the remainder of the decade and the beginning of the next into aimless drug addiction, and that he would not issue another solo album until 18 years later. As it is, If Only I Could Only Remember My Name is a shambolic masterpiece, meandering but transcendently so, full of frayed threads. Not only is it among the finest splinter albums out of the CSNY diaspora, it is one of the defining moments of hung-over spirituality from the era.

Steven Stills/Steven Stills, - With this 1970 self-titled solo effort, Stephen Stills, like his bandmates of CSN&Y had decided to explore other musical avenues. Featuring Jimi Hendrix, who died prior to the album's release on Old Times Good Times. The London session also allowed Stills to finally team up with Eric Clapton on Go Back Home. "George Harrison - All Things Must Pass Box Set PLUS Living In The Material World LP"

THIRTY-THREE & ONE THIRD RUSSIAN VINYL LONG OUT OF PRINT PRESSINGS ROUNDS OUT THIS 4 TITLE 6 LP SET
ALL THINGS MUST PASS - WITH A LOT OF BONUS TRACKS - On the heels of "Something" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," George Harrison must have felt he had little to prove as a songwriter. But unfortunately for him, those stellar efforts were in service of a band whose main songwriters were named Lennon and McCartney. But when the Beatles partnership dissolved in 1970, Harrison wasted little time in showcasing the body of work he'd accumulated the previous two years--or in trying to take Abbey Road's lavish production ethos to its next logical plateau. The resulting late-1970 double-album (originally released with a third bonus disc of instrumental "Apple Jams," which are still included here) was perhaps the most Beatles-sounding post-Fabs effort, a far cry from the two quirky solo efforts he'd undertaken while still in the band (the authentically Indian Wonderwall Music and the Moog wank-fest Electronic Sounds). Tracks like "Beware of Darkness," "All Things Must Pass," "The Art of Dying," "Isn't It a Pity," and the hit "My Sweet Lord" gave the album a strong spiritual center, balanced by the light-hearted "Apple Scruffs," "If Not For You," and the Bob Dylan collaboration "I'd Have You Anytime." Phil Spector's mammoth, orchestrally laced production took his trademark "wall of sound" to impressive new levels, all the more remarkable in light of the biting, minimalist work he was collaborating with John Lennon on, virtually simultaneously. Far and away Harrison's masterpiece; he'd have been wise to have saved a few of these songs for a rainy day.

BRAINWASHED - Completed by George Harrison's son Dhani and Jeff Lynne after the ex-Beatle succumbed to a long illness in November 2001, Brainwashed is a bittersweet reminder of the myriad contradictions that made Harrison such a compelling figure. One of the most warm, melodically rich albums in a career pockmarked by personal frankness and professional indifference in its latter years, Harrison finds rewarding ways here to reconcile bitter assessments of the material world (the title track) with more fleshy concerns, as his jaunty take on the Arlen-Koehler chestnut "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" ably demonstrates. Pushing the singer's distinctive dry voice to the forefront, and with Harrison's trademark slide guitar riffs as sinewy as ever, Lynne's showcase production is mostly spot-on and refreshingly restrained, while Dhani brings his own fresh, touchingly personal insights to the record. He double-tracked his own voice onto an old recording of his father chanting the traditional "Namah Parvati" and appended it as the album's spiritual benediction, a touching reminder that while musicians come and go, music can truly embody their spirit forever.

LIVING IN A MATERIAL WORLD - George Harrison's 1973 follow-up to his All Things Must Pass might be underrated in comparison to its predecessor, but Living In The Material World was still an instant multimillion seller. In fact, it was the Number One album of 1973 and contains the Number One hit in "Give Me Love." PRESENTED IN A LIMITED EDITION deluxe gatefold jacket and all. Completely remastered, this new version also includes two rare bonus tracks and a 16-page booklet.

Also what a tremendous GIFT" these masterpieces of vinyl will make any true fan.
I LOVE "33 1/3"-it's easily one of my two very favorite
George Harrison solo albums. Why do I love it so much? It has fantastic songs,
great lyrics and some exciting soul and funk influences. The
opening "Woman Don't Cry For Me" is a bass and clavinet-led
funk number with a blues arrangment featuring the wonderful
Billy Preston's keyboard work. Two fantastic,Beatle-like pop
numbers like the joke-of-court-proceeding "This Song" and
the instant classic "Crackerbox Palace". Most stunning though
are the contemporary soft soul tributes first to Smokey Robinson
called "Pure Smokey" (perhapes Harrison wrote it for Smokey-it
does sound like him) and the tranquil and beautiful soul ballad
"Learning how To Love You",a great way to chose any album. In
between these tunes like "It's What You Value",Dear One" and
"Beautful Girl" are just the kind of clever toss-off's that
Harrison was knocking out at this point. Anyone who hears this
today will be very saddned he is no longer with us.

WORKINGMAN'S DEAD - Workingman's Dead and its successor from later in 1970, American Beauty, are the Dead albums even non-Deadheads embrace. With these two new-decade statements, the group reigned in its demonstrative instrumental side in favor of a pithier presentation of prize tunes. The opener, "Uncle John's Band," signaled that this was a relatively streamlined Dead. "Dire Wolf," "Cumberland Blues," and "Casey Jones" hammer the point home: The Grateful Dead could set aside the jams for a while and make a great album

"Janis Joplin - Live In Concert (Double LP) & Farewell Song"
JANIS JOPLIN - LIVE IN CONCERT - Out of Print FACTORY SEALED DOUBLE LP - PLUS FAREWELL SONG FOR A TOTAL 3 PIECES OF VINYL
One of the Top 40 Artists of All-Time, there are only three women on that list -- one is Aretha Franklin, the other is Joni Mitchell, and the third is Janis Joplin.
IN CONCERT - This Double LP Collection is from concerts with Big Brother and the Holding Company and Full Tilt Boogie - All Is Loneliness - with Big Brother was an inspirational vehicle for Joplin unlike any other and no other performance of this tune which conveys the terrifying loneliness is even remotely similar. The version here was recorded at a 1970 reunion with Big Brother and Janis“there ain’t no tv, no radio, no nothin’ man” simply rips your heart out. We are also treated to the improptu 12 bar blues of - Ego Rock - where Nick Gravenites and Janis toss blues lines back and forth in an affectionate but competitive repartee.
Janis was looped during the outdoor gigs with Full Tilt - a lot of Tequila went down the hatch on the festival train that puffed its way across Canada in July of 1970. It was four months before Joplin died and her Calgary performance of - Ball and Chain - is inspired, brilliant, drunk, uncanny and frightening. It is like work from the other side. Also included on this LP are - Down On Me - Bye Bye Baby - Piece Of My Heart - Road Block - Flower In The Sun - a cover of Gershwin’s Summertime - Half Moon - Cosmic Blue - Move Over - Try Just A Little Bit Harder - Get It While You Can. That is exactly what you should do with this Audiophile Masterpiece.
FAREWELL SONG -
This Collection features Janis Joplin with Big Brother And The Holding Company, as well as live with The Kozmic Blues Band. There is also a tear down the walls cover of Etta James TELL MAMA with Full Tilt Boogie recorded live in Toronto. ther highlights include a studio recording of ONE NIGHT STAND (produced by Todd Rundgren) and a marvelous rendition of Sam Andrew’s poignant FAREWELL SONG, taken from a 1968 Winterland Show. Ending the LP is Joplin’s killer CATCH ME DADDY taken from a CHEAP THRILLS Session.
This is one of Janis Joplin’s most inspired studio vocals and is tremendously interesting to hear the instrumental track that brought out such an incredible performance. Other songs included are MAGIC OF LOVE - MISER-N - HARRY - RAISE YOUR HAND - and a medley - AMAZING GRACE/HIGH HEELED SNEAKERS.

SCORSESE BLUES ON BLUE VINYL DOUBLE LP SET - As part of the numerous compilations issued in conjunction with the major television documentary series The Blues, this is a collection of blues-oriented Hendrix recordings. There is a previous compilation of Hendrix's blues-oriented work in 1994, simply titled Blues. There is little repetition between Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues and Blues, though, and it works as a decent grouping of some of his bluesiest recordings for those listeners who want to plunge especially deeply into one facet of his repertoire.
"Red House" and "Voodoo Chile" are by far the most celebrated tracks here. The fine Earl King cover "Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)" (from Electric Ladyland) is the only other song that came out in Hendrix's lifetime The other selections vary from inspired ("Hear My Train a Comin'," recorded in early 1969 with the original Jimi Hendrix Experience lineup, and a solo "Midnight Lightning") to straight ahead jams, with Hendrix's imaginative virtuosity and affinity for the blues evident.
This being a posthumous Hendrix release, it couldn't be complete without a couple of previously unissued tracks to tempt the completists, Those are the 1969 outtakes "Georgia Blues," on which Hendrix is actually more like a backing musician for Lonnie Youngblood (who takes lead vocals), and "Blue Window," a nearly 13-minute outing that gives vent to his jazzier tendencies, the arrangement also featuring organ, three saxophones, and two trumpets.
The liner notes about Jimi's blues record collecting habits by mid-'60s girlfriend Faye Pridgon are pretty cool. A must for Hendrix LP lovers.

JIMI HENDRIX - Axis Bold As Love - MONO - 200 GRAM MASTERPIECE
An authorized Hendrix Family Limited Edition faithfully restored re-mastered from the Original Archive Tapes. Q Magazine said that “Axis dazzles as The Experience creates a genre probably short-lived because nobody else could play it. Jazz Metal might be the appropriate tag.
“ Vibe Magazine said “for folks who have never heard Jimi Hendrix on vinyl, the Rainbow fantasia world of Hendrix awaits you in all its polyphonic peacock glory.”
Axis Bold As Love made Billboard’s Top 200 List as #5 in February of 1968. This release, for the first time, with all the Original Artwork, you can experience The Experience as was originally intended. Axis Bold As Love was the follow up to Are You Experienced? and represented a much more concise use of the recording studio possibilities.
The mix -- cleaner and brighter than ever -- on this re-issue is clearer and more open reflecting Hendrix’ growing concern for color and texture. Where his live shows continue to showcase the raw rocking power of The Experience, the recording studio gave Hendrix the composer/arranger a broader pulpit to work with. There are still plenty of powerful Blues/Rock infected songs such as the menacing -
If 6 Was 9, the rolling - Spanish Castle Magic, and the spatial title tune. But Up From the Skies - is a jazzy trio romp featuring Hendrix bluesy vocalized wah-wah pedal and on the ballads - Little Wing and Castles Made of Sand - Hendrix shifts the focus from the band to the silvery chord/melodic accompaniments he often employed to compliment his vocals. They are an orchestral effect unto themselves.
HENDRIX SMASH HITS 1ST EDITION EACH INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED LP SET - Considering that these days they use 64 or more channels, with this Hendrix Pressing you are literally in the studio with Hendrix because there is no manipulation of the session - just laying it down on two tracks. It’s The Experience playing live You are catching the full force of the sound.
An authorized Hendrix Family Limited Edition faithfully restored/re-mastered from the Original Archive Tapes by Eddie Kramer, the original Engineer of The Hendrix Experience. Includes Original Artwork and an 8-Page Photo Booklet never before released.

NOEL REDDINGThe Experience Sessions presents a collection of rare and previously-unreleased studio recordings made by Noel Redding, who played bass for two-and-three-quarter years with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The record also contains the master takes of Redding's two stand-out original compositions, "Little Miss Strange" and "She's So Fine," both of which turned up on Hendrix records. The record also includes previously-unreleased alternate recordings of these two tracks, offering a fascinating insight into the inner-workings of the group in the studio. This disc is a cause for celebration simply for the fact that many of the tracks feature blistering guitar work from Jimi Hendrix. And on one previously-unreleased song, "Dream," Hendrix plays the bass and Redding the guitar.

With his husky, soulful baritone, Michael McDonald became one of the most distinctive and popular vocalists to emerge from the laid-back California pop/rock scene of the late '70s. McDonald found the middle ground between blue-eyed soul and smooth soft rock, a sound that made him a star. He initially essayed his signature style with the Doobie Brothers, ushering in the group's most popular period with hits like "What a Fool Believes" and "Taking It to the Streets." McDonald disbanded the group in 1982 to pursue a solo career, which was initially quite successful, but by the end of the decade his popularity had faded away, since he was reluctant to work regularly and hesitant to update his sound to suit shifting popular tastes.
After singing backup on several Steely Dan albums in the mid-'70s, Michael McDonald joined the Doobie Brothers in 1977. He was largely responsible for moving the group away from boogie rock and toward polished, jazzy blue-eyed soul. Prior to the Doobies' farewell tour in 1982, he sang harmony on several hit singles, including tracks by Donna Summer, Toto, Kenny Loggins, and Christopher Cross. As it turned out, McDonald's solo work was a cross between the Doobie Brothers' white-bread soul and Cross' adult contemporary ballads.
McDonald released his solo debut, If That's What It Takes, in 1982. The record climbed to number six on the strength of the number four single "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)," which also crossed over into the R&B Top Ten. In 1983, he had another Top 20 pop hit (and a Top Ten R&B hit) with his duet with James Ingram, "Yah Mo B There." McDonald didn't deliver his second solo album, No Lookin' Back, until 1985. The record wasn't as successful as its predecessor, producing only one moderate hit in its title track. He bounced back the following year, when his duet with Patti LaBelle, "On My Own," shot to number one and "Sweet Freedom," his theme for the Billy Crystal/Gregory Hines comedy Running Scared, climbed into the Top Ten.
Instead of capitalizing on his revitalized success, McDonald didn't release another album until 1990. The resulting Take It to Heart was a bomb, peaking at number 110. Two years later, his fortunes were revived somewhat when he sang on Aretha Franklin's minor hit "Ever Changing Times" and toured with Donald Fagen's New York Rock and Soul Revue. The following year, he released Blink of an Eye, which was ignored. In 1994, "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)" was sampled heavily in Warren G's smash hit "Regulate." By 1996, McDonald had returned to the Doobie Brothers, touring the oldies circuit with the reunited group. The following year, McDonald released Blue Obsession, his first album of new material in three years. He released a Christmas album (In the Spirit: A Christmas Album) in 2001, and began a series of recordings devoted to the Motown catalog with 2003's Motown. Motown Two and Soul Speak followed in 2004 and 2008 respectively.

FM SOUNDTRACK - This DOUBLE VINYL collection is the soundtrack from the 1978 ill-fated movie. Pushing the visuals aside, the collection includes a majority of the top selling classic rock artists performing their classic hit singles that dominated the airwaves in the 1970's.
Walter Brecker and Donald Fagen/Steely Dan are represented with their newly recorded title track that opens the collection and reprise that closes out the second disc. Their first major chart success, the relentless "Do It Again," is also included.
The Eagles are represented as a group on "Life In The Fast Lane," from the "Hotel California" album, while there are 2 solo members with individual tracks: Joe Walsh does a parody of fortune and fame on the tongue and cheek track, "Life's Been Good." Randy Meisner performs on "Bad Man."
One of the most popular female vocalists of the 1970's was Linda Ronstadt. She has 2 live performances on the album, which she also performed in the film, "Tumbling Dice," (a Rolling Stones track) and "Poor Poor Pitiful Me."
Boston's feel good debut single, "More Than A Feeling" is on the soundtrack, which was extracted from their multiplatinum eponyomous debut that sold more copies that any debut album during its inception. Queen rocks with their stadium anthum, "We Will Rock You." Steve Miller soars on "Fly Like An Eagle." Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's trademark sound is heard on "Breakdown." Lou Gramm's high pitched vocals are evident on the track "Cold As Ice." The Doobie Brothers "It Keeps You Runnin'" is also included in this important rock and roll collection.
The soundtrack also sports Jimmy Buffet's electric performance on "Livingston Saturday Night." Folker and adult contemporary stylist, Dan Fogelberg delivers one of his most emotionally wrenching ballads with "There's A Place In The World For A Gambler," while New York's own, Billy Joel sings his trademark ballad and grammy award winning song of the year, "Just The Way You Are." James Taylor is represented with the mid-tempo love song,"Your Smiling Face" and jazz musician Boz Scaggs performs his up tempo signature track "Lido Shuffle," that originaly appeared on his "Silk Degrees" album.
This collection brings the listener back to a more innocent time in rock and roll (if that was possible), when the emphasis was primarily on the music itself and the live performances. It is essential listening for avid fans of the rock and roll medium. Skip the movie and go straight for the soundtrack!

"Santana 4 LP Set"
SANTANA - ZEBOP - SELF TITLED - ABRAXAS & WELCOME - A FOUR LP SET - ALL THE LAST OUT OF PRINT ISSUES FROM THE ORIGINAL LABEL.
ZEBOP - RARE VINYL PRESSING - is the ideal blend of the percussive psychedelic funky Latin jazz/rock that Carlos Santana has made so famous! All of those bases are covered here sometimes together as on "Searchin" and other times on songs like the grooving "E Papa Re".
Overall ZEBOP also marks a return from late 70's stabs at progressive rock and disco back to Santana's classic sound, marked by "The Sensitve Kind",a JJ Cale cover very similar to the bands Woodstock-era radio hits .The bluesy instrumental version of the standard "I Love You Much Too Much" shows that while strong tunesmiths in their own right Santana can TEAR IT UP on covers! "Brightest Star" is a very soulful ballad showcasing organ work and a great vocal arrangement. "Changes" and "Winning" are both catchy covers given a little dose of Latin-rock even as the fiery instrumentals "Primera Invasion" and the frenetic chant "Hannibal" are just fabulous!
Over twelve songs -- there is no filler - no weak songs and (as always) outstanding production.
ABRAXAS is the best Latin-fusion with smooth edges. The relaxed opening eleqantly slips into Black Magic Woman, the finest interpretation and cover of this Peter Green song. Se A Cabo, El Nicoya, and the memorable Oye Como Va gives us the quota of Latin Rock. The album's star is the beautifully exotic Samba Pa Ti which features a superb guitar solo that oozes the sexuality blatantly depicted by the Mati cover. Other songs included are - Singing Winds, Crying Beasts - Incident at Neshabur - Mother's Daughter - Hope You?re Feeling Better.
SANTANA - S/T This was Santana's debut LP and was a powerful and original masterpiece. When Santana arrived on the San Francisco scene in 1968, the Grateful Dead's freeform antics were already legendary. But, Santana was a jam band of another order fueled by Latin rhythms, blues, beebop, and straight ahead rock. Having set the audience at the 1969 Woodstock Festival on its collective ear, the band did the same for the nation with its self-titled debut released later than summer. Songs such as Evil Ways - Jingo and Soul Sacrifice contain extraordinary ensemble playing powered by congas and timbales and topped by the gripping human cry of Carlos Santana's guitar. A rock classic cover to cover!!
WELCOME - TREMENDOUSLY RARE VINYL PRESSING
This is Santana's fifth album originally released in November 1973. A mixture of fusion and blues, it's also the only studio album to feature jazz artist Leon Thomas on vocals (he sings on three of the tracks).
This is the 1973-era Santana band which was featured on the Japanese "Lotus" triple live album. Jazz singer Leon Thomas was part of this group, and "Welcome" continues the "Caravanserai" album format of instrumental-only and vocal tracks, seamlessly flowing into one another.
Strings, marimba, male/female vocals and multiple keyboards (by Tom Coster and Richard Kermode) are tastefully and creatively employed on selected tracks. As far as the content ,it's not dissimilar to its predecessor "Caravanserai" in that it's mostly instrumental and has no hit singles. If you liked "Caravanserai", you'll have no trouble listening to this album of mystical and spiritual tunes.
This was the most musically proficient Santana ensemble ever - drummer Maitreya Michael Shrieve spurs the groove and improvisations, and guitarist Mahavishnu John McLaughlin (with whom Santana recorded the previous year's "Love Devotion Surrender" album) guests on 'Flame-Sky'. Return To Forever members Joe Farrell-flute and Flora Purim-vocal are also featured on 'When I Look Into Your Eyes' and 'Yours Is The Light'. "Flame-Sky" was co-written with John McLaughlin and runs eleven minutes.
The album serenely concludes with the John Coltrane composition 'Welcome'.

"Sly And The Family Stone - 4 Titles - Small Talk, Stand, Fresh & Dance To The Music"
SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE - 4 LP SET WITH THESE FOUR TITLES - SMALL TALK - STAND - FRESH & DANCE TO THE MUSIC -
ALL OUT OF PRINT RARE 180 GRAM ORIGINAL HEAVY VINYL LIMITED EDITION PRESSINGS FROM THE ORIGINAL LABEL.
FACTORY SEALED LP - vinyl pressing .
Sly and the Family Stone, led by the enigmatic Sylvester Stewart (aka Sly Stone), were a pioneering funk band in the 60s and 70s who merged rock with funk, had a sexually and racially integrated line-up, and who famously moved from optimistic party anthems and hippy idealism to drug-induced frustration and paranoia.
Sly and the Family Stone were formed in 1966 when Sly Stone merged his struggling band with the struggling band of his brother Freddie, and added bassist Larry Graham. A debut album received good reviews but didn't sell well, so they were reluctantly persuaded to record an overtly commercial single to boost their reputation. Sly came up with the goods in January 1968 with the raucous party anthem "Dance to the Music", which got to No.8 in the pop charts and influenced the sound of soul music for the next several years. There are a few interesting innovations in just this one song: it is performed by a racially integrated group and with instrumental participation by women, it included rock guitar parts in a funk song, and there are four lead singers who take turns to sing.
This was followed in 1969 by their first classic album, Stand!, which included hit singles "Everyday People/Sing a Simple Song" and "I Want to Take You Higher". It eventually sold over three million copies and was followed by a famous Woodstock appearance, and another hit single: "Hot Fun in the Summertime". But internal differences were arising and illicit drug use was increasing at this time, so in the following two years only one single was released. "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" (December 69) is important for two reasons: it prominently featured Larry Graham's new slap-bass method that would become a standard in funk; and it signified the beginning of Sly and the Family Stone's darker period, as they expressed their frustration that the hippy ideals they once offered, of peace and love for all mankind, weren't working.
For much of 70/71, Sly Stone sank deeper into a drug habit and retreated from recording duties. A comeback single, "Family Affair", reached No.1 in late 1971, before the November release of their most acclaimed work: There's a Riot Goin' On. An album of melancholy and frustration, it announced the passing of 60s idealism and the new reality of widespread socio-economic problems. Despite the dark themes, it reached No.1 and is regarded as one of the greatest albums of the decade.
Subsequent albums, such as Fresh (1973) and Small Talk (1974), Fresh is now considered as an important album in the development of funk, while their work overall is regarded as highly influential for artists such as Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Michael Jackson. Eventually the band fizzled out as members became increasingly frustrated with Sly's erratic and unreliable behaviour, and bookings for live shows dried up. Officially splitting in 1975, some of the key members have since reformed and were touring Europe with Sly in 2007.
DANCE TO THE MUSIC -
Surely one of the best Sly & The Family Stone albums ever released. This album has so many great songs - cover to cover. Every track a stomping, funk masterpiece. The unbelievably timeless, uplifting funk that is DANCE TO THE MEDLEY alone makes the album essential -- a true party song. Other tracks (from a group rated one of the top 50 rock n roll artists of all time) include: DANCE TO THE MUSIC - HIGHER - I AIN?T GOT NOBODY FOR REAL - RIDE THE RHYTHM - COLOR ME TRUE - ARE YOU READY - DON'T BURN BABY - I'LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN - SOUL CLAPPIN?.
FRESH - Coming as it did on the heels of the There's a Riot Goin' On, 1973's Fresh surprised a lot of Sly fans by actually living up to its name. The weariness and paranoia of Riot are totally missing in action, replaced by a relaxed optimism that seems to shine from every note of tracks like "If You Want Me to Stay" and "In Time." The band--newly buttressed by the rhythm section of Rusty Allen and Andy Newmark--plays it loose and funky, and Sly's oddball sense of humor resurfaces on a cover of Doris Day's "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)."
Tracks include: . In Time 2. If You Want Me to Stay 3. Let Me Have It All 4. Frisky 5. Thankful N' Thoughtful 6. Skin I'm In 7. I Don't Know (Satisfaction) 8. Keep on Dancin' 9. Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) 10. If It Were Left Up to Me 11. Babies Makin' Babies

"Stevie Wonder, 3 LP Set of Talking Book, Innervisions & Music Of My Mind"

INNERVISIONS - The political undercurrents long simmering in Stevie Wonders work reached their boiling point on the masterful Innervisions, a record as potent and insightful in its exploration of contemporary life as Marvin Gaye is What is Going On two years earlier. The opening Too High, an acute condemnation of drug use, quickly establishes the record is forceful yet vibrant tone, which alternates between utopian dreamscapes Visions and tough minded realism Jesus Children of America; the record is dueling concerns converge on the hit Living for the City, which is both a brilliant examination of the myriad of social ills so endemic to the ghetto experience and a stirring celebration of African-American resilience. And on Higher Ground, Wonder even points a finger at himself to detail a sinner is second a chance at life, a song which took on even greater resonance in the wake of the car crash which nearly killed him just months after the release.

MUSIC OF MY MIND -
Stevie Wonder's MUSIC OF MY MIND was his first LP released under his revised contract with Motown, which enabled him a greater artistic freedom that produced some of the most widely acclaimed, innovative and inspired moments of the 1970s.
This album shows Wonder employing new technology to shape the music, creating the equivalent of a synth orchestra via overdubbing on many tracks (most notably the second part of the album's highlight "Superwoman"), whilst also beginning to utilize the talk-box on "Love Having You Around" and the Clavinet on tracks such as "Happier Than The Morning Sun" and "Keep On Running". With the exception of a excellent guitar contribution on "Superwoman" and a trombone solo on "Love Having You Around", Wonder provides his own band using overdubs, the results are groundbreaking.
TALKING BOOK - I think "Innversisons" is Stevie Wonder's best album in terms of providing a overall statement, but "Talking Book" is the better collection of songs.
"Superstition" is my all time favorite Stevie Wonder song, a hard funk masterpiece that justifies the invention of the clavinet. That was the song that made all of America either reexamine the artist formerly known as Little Stevie Wonder or got them to take notice of him in the first place because from that point on there was no doubt the man was a major artist. As a general rule I am less enamored of his ballads, but "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" is certainly his most palatable, but "Blame It On The Sun" strikes me as being a bit better, maybe just because it never received as much airplay or was covered as much as the original. I tend to like "Maybe Your Baby" and especially "Big Brother" as the non-hits that are always what makes a great album truly great. Attention must also be paid to the lovely multi-part harmonies on "I Believe" and the guitar work of Jeff Beck on "Looking For Another Pure Love." The motion on the floor remains the same: at a bare minimum you have to have "Talking Book," "Innervisons," and a good hits collection (e.g., "The Definitive Collection") in your music library. So when the arbiters of good taste come knocking on your door to check out what you have, do not say you were not warned. --

VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO- Rare Limited Edition Out of Print Yellow Vinyl Rare Gatefold LP. Produced by Andy Warhol in 1967, this is the Velvet’s Underground first recording and remains one of the most important in influential Albums of all time. This recording has recently been rated the 19th Best Album of All-Time. If you are a collector and want a Top 20 in Rock n Roll’s History, this recording is an absolute must!
VELVET UNDERGROUND - WHITE LIGHT/WHITE HEAT - Collector’s Limited Edition High Quality Colored White Vinyl LP. Nothing in their debut could really have prepared fans for the sonic assault the Velvets unleashed in White Light/White Heat. Freed from Andy Warhol's patronage (and Nico's vocals), Lou Reed and company strip production values to a minimum and turn out a primitive rock & roll masterpiece: everything on this record sounds distorted and abrasive. Depending on how you feel about these sorts of things, this makes it either their best or their worst record. Of course, underneath it all are some of Reed's greatest songs, from the title track to the wistful "Here She Comes Now." It all culminates on side 2 with the raucously joyous "I Heard Her Call My Name" ("And then my mind split open," Reed sings, and his guitar lets you know just about how that would feel) and the epic "Sister Ray"--10 minutes of transcendent, pounding fuzz as Reed searches for his "mainline." -- Tracks Include: White Light/White Heat 2. Gift 3. Lady Godiva's Operation 4. Here She Comes Now 5. I Heard Her Call My Name 6. Sister Ray
THE VELVET UNDERGROUND - - Collector’s Limited Edition High Quality Colored Blue Vinyl LP. Released in 1969 to an almost total lack of critical acclaim or consumer interest, the Velvet Underground's third album may well be the finest record of the band's career. Without the sonic terrorism of The Velvet Underground & Nico and White Light/White Heat or the ill-conceived commercial concessions that marred Loaded, the album's songs are free to stand on their own merit. And stand they do: "What Goes On" and "Beginning to See the Light" may be the finest flat-out rockers in the band's catalog, while "Pale Blue Eyes," "Jesus," and "Candy Says" are some of the most delicately gorgeous songs Lou Reed has ever penned. There's no evidence here of any of the psychedelic effects and hippie sloganeering that marked most late-1960s rock releases, which is probably why the record still holds up today. Tracks include: Candy Says . What Goes On 3. Some Kinda Love 4. Pale Blue Eyes 5. Jesus 6. Beginning to See the Light 7. I'm Set Free 8. That's the Story of My Life 9. Murder Mystery 10. After Hours
THE VELVET UNDERGROUND - “Loaded” - Red Vinyl LP. While John Cale certainly gave the first couple of Velvet Underground albums a signature sound, his departure enabled Lou Reed to do exactly what he does best: write kick-ass, stripped-down rock songs. On LOADED his talent comes to full fruition. Who can imagine a world without "Sweet Jane" and "Rock & Roll," arguably two of the greatest rock tunes ever penned? The brilliance of those songs is so bright, it's easy to overlook a couple of other Reed masterpieces: the tender, epic discourse of "New Age" and the extended sweet blues romp of "Oh! Sweet Nuthin'." On LOADED the Velvet Underground--who before had hit the sonic ceiling experimenting with shattered chords, feedback, screeching violas, and what Reed once claimed was "the fastest guitar playing ever -- avoid the dark side of noise for clarity. Check out the ringing chime that begins "Who Loves the Sun" and the ) guitar riff that drives "Rock & Roll." This is not to say that the old ragged punch of the original Velvets is completely gone. Moe Tucker still beats a mean drum; there's no stopping Sterling Morrison's train-wreck rhythm guitar on "Train Round the Bend"; and "Head Held High" achieves near-"Sister Ray" moments of madness”
LIVE AT MAX'S KANSAS CITY -
This LP features a slew of Velvets classics - "I'm Waiting for the Man", "Sunday Morning", "I'll Be Your Mirror", "Femme Fatale", "Sweet Jane" and "New Age" - interspersed with an unusually chatty and upbeat Lou Reed providing between song banter and occasional explanations of various songs' origins. For a brief, shining moment Lou Reed was at the top of his game as a songwriter and performer, and the Velvet Underground seemed poised for the elusive commercial breakthrough it never achieved.
Serious fans will have no trouble looking past the sonic limitations of this recording to savor the historical importance of a great band captured at a point when its flame was arguably burning most brightly. The casual listener may be surprised to find that the performance and material more than compensate for the raw sound quality.
