Brew Moore never enjoyed the same degree of commercial success as Stan Getz, Zoot Sims or Allen Eager, but when the spirit moved him, he could outgun all-comers. In doing so, not only did this maverick earn the respect of his contemporaries, but also praise from some unexpected source. Beat Generation guru Jack Kerouac was a big fan who lionized the tenor man in great detail in his novel Desolation Angels.
