"Memphis Slim and Willie Dixon, The Blues Every Which Way - 180 Gram"
180 Gram Limited Edition Analog Virgin Vinyl. These two legends go back to the roots of blues playing it like you would have heard it in its purest form in the down town Chicago blues clubs. A must for any true blues lover
Willie Dixon & Memphis Slim - The Blues In Every Which Way
FACTORY SEALED 180 Gram LP - High definition analog vinyl pressing for superior fidelity. The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and ears. The ultimate record – the way music was meant to be heard.
Memphis Slim and Willie Dixon in a “double value” pack. Such a minimum of personnel was bound to bring a broad smile to the faces of Verve’s accounts department staff, especially when one considers that several great names in the blues scene of the Sixties tried to gain the public’s attention with the help of large and expensive background ensembles. But things were very different with these two great musicians. Instead of depending upon cascades of sound and throbbing rhythm coming out of the electrical sockets, the duo relied upon their own vocal talents and their skill at the piano and bass. The two musicians reach back to the roots of the blues when they growl out their songs about everyday life to a rolling boogie-woogie rhythm. The listener gets an immediate impression of how it would have sounded in the streets and bars of Chicago’s south side. Without a shadow of a doubt, this album will be right up the street of all those who love original, unfiltered blues.

With his husky, soulful baritone, Michael McDonald became one of the most distinctive and popular vocalists to emerge from the laid-back California pop/rock scene of the late '70s. McDonald found the middle ground between blue-eyed soul and smooth soft rock, a sound that made him a star. He initially essayed his signature style with the Doobie Brothers, ushering in the group's most popular period with hits like "What a Fool Believes" and "Taking It to the Streets." McDonald disbanded the group in 1982 to pursue a solo career, which was initially quite successful, but by the end of the decade his popularity had faded away, since he was reluctant to work regularly and hesitant to update his sound to suit shifting popular tastes.
After singing backup on several Steely Dan albums in the mid-'70s, Michael McDonald joined the Doobie Brothers in 1977. He was largely responsible for moving the group away from boogie rock and toward polished, jazzy blue-eyed soul. Prior to the Doobies' farewell tour in 1982, he sang harmony on several hit singles, including tracks by Donna Summer, Toto, Kenny Loggins, and Christopher Cross. As it turned out, McDonald's solo work was a cross between the Doobie Brothers' white-bread soul and Cross' adult contemporary ballads.
McDonald released his solo debut, If That's What It Takes, in 1982. The record climbed to number six on the strength of the number four single "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)," which also crossed over into the R&B Top Ten. In 1983, he had another Top 20 pop hit (and a Top Ten R&B hit) with his duet with James Ingram, "Yah Mo B There." McDonald didn't deliver his second solo album, No Lookin' Back, until 1985. The record wasn't as successful as its predecessor, producing only one moderate hit in its title track. He bounced back the following year, when his duet with Patti LaBelle, "On My Own," shot to number one and "Sweet Freedom," his theme for the Billy Crystal/Gregory Hines comedy Running Scared, climbed into the Top Ten.
Instead of capitalizing on his revitalized success, McDonald didn't release another album until 1990. The resulting Take It to Heart was a bomb, peaking at number 110. Two years later, his fortunes were revived somewhat when he sang on Aretha Franklin's minor hit "Ever Changing Times" and toured with Donald Fagen's New York Rock and Soul Revue. The following year, he released Blink of an Eye, which was ignored. In 1994, "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)" was sampled heavily in Warren G's smash hit "Regulate." By 1996, McDonald had returned to the Doobie Brothers, touring the oldies circuit with the reunited group. The following year, McDonald released Blue Obsession, his first album of new material in three years. He released a Christmas album (In the Spirit: A Christmas Album) in 2001, and began a series of recordings devoted to the Motown catalog with 2003's Motown. Motown Two and Soul Speak followed in 2004 and 2008 respectively.

FM SOUNDTRACK - This DOUBLE VINYL collection is the soundtrack from the 1978 ill-fated movie. Pushing the visuals aside, the collection includes a majority of the top selling classic rock artists performing their classic hit singles that dominated the airwaves in the 1970's.
Walter Brecker and Donald Fagen/Steely Dan are represented with their newly recorded title track that opens the collection and reprise that closes out the second disc. Their first major chart success, the relentless "Do It Again," is also included.
The Eagles are represented as a group on "Life In The Fast Lane," from the "Hotel California" album, while there are 2 solo members with individual tracks: Joe Walsh does a parody of fortune and fame on the tongue and cheek track, "Life's Been Good." Randy Meisner performs on "Bad Man."
One of the most popular female vocalists of the 1970's was Linda Ronstadt. She has 2 live performances on the album, which she also performed in the film, "Tumbling Dice," (a Rolling Stones track) and "Poor Poor Pitiful Me."
Boston's feel good debut single, "More Than A Feeling" is on the soundtrack, which was extracted from their multiplatinum eponyomous debut that sold more copies that any debut album during its inception. Queen rocks with their stadium anthum, "We Will Rock You." Steve Miller soars on "Fly Like An Eagle." Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's trademark sound is heard on "Breakdown." Lou Gramm's high pitched vocals are evident on the track "Cold As Ice." The Doobie Brothers "It Keeps You Runnin'" is also included in this important rock and roll collection.
The soundtrack also sports Jimmy Buffet's electric performance on "Livingston Saturday Night." Folker and adult contemporary stylist, Dan Fogelberg delivers one of his most emotionally wrenching ballads with "There's A Place In The World For A Gambler," while New York's own, Billy Joel sings his trademark ballad and grammy award winning song of the year, "Just The Way You Are." James Taylor is represented with the mid-tempo love song,"Your Smiling Face" and jazz musician Boz Scaggs performs his up tempo signature track "Lido Shuffle," that originaly appeared on his "Silk Degrees" album.
This collection brings the listener back to a more innocent time in rock and roll (if that was possible), when the emphasis was primarily on the music itself and the live performances. It is essential listening for avid fans of the rock and roll medium. Skip the movie and go straight for the soundtrack!

Recorded at the Columbia 30th Street Studios, New York, New York between May 6 and August 22, 1957.
This is a specially imported limited edition 20-bit digital remaster from Japan.
Miles Davis was part of a circle of musicians drawn to arranger Gil Evans' charts for Claude Thornhill's Orchestra--his lovely palette of woodwinds and deep brass, his way of voicing chords and accenting rhythms. Beginning with their innovative collaboration on BIRTH OF THE COOL, they created a luminous body of work, as Gil Evans played Billy Strayhorn to Miles' Duke Ellington.
Beginning with MILES AHEAD, and continuing through works such as PORGY AND BESS, SKETCHES OF SPAIN, AT CARNEGIE HALL and QUIET NIGHTS they cultivated a cool attitude that defined jazz in popular consciousness. This is the second CD release of MILES AHEAD (look for the Legacy logo), and this edition returns to the original mono master takes, proceeding as one uninterrupted work--a concerto for flugelhorn soloist and mixed brass, woodwinds and rhythm.
The jaunty brass counterpoint and contrary motion of "Springsville" launches Miles in full flight, descending into the gossamer Iberian shadings of "The Maids Of Cadiz." Shadowed by flutes, French horns and a dancing tuba, Miles celebrates Brubeck's lovely anthem "The Duke" with spacious lyric grace. The gorgeous soft chords of "My Ship" and the burnished deep brass of the title tune suggest how completely Evans transformed big band voicings (much as Ellington did), while the introspective manner in which Miles phrases suggests Billie Holiday. Evans' meandering "Blues For Pablo," which alternates between blues and flamenco-styled themes and the swinging stop time of Ahmad Jamal's "New Rhumba" form the emotional centerpiece of this otherwordly recital, concluding with a bracing brass cry so typical of earlier dance bands.
Editorial reviews
4 1/2 Stars - Very Good Plus - ...a remarkably flexible set of scores, written with a suppleness, fluidity, and skill that should immediately bring Gil Evans to the front rank of contemporary jazz writers and long due...The handling of the brass, with its muttering, spouting, rolling figures is a thing of liveliness that grows with each hearing....

"Miles Davis, E.S.P. - 180 Gram"
MILES DAVIS: E.S.P. - Factory Sealed LP Now out of print and gone forever.
180 Gram Limited Edition classic LP high-definition Virgin Vinyl pressing for superior fidelity. The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and your ears. The ultimate record -- the way music was meant to be heard.
E.S.P. is an inventive post-bop treasure that finds Miles Davis totally re-energized by the young guns of his second quintet. Davis's first album of new material in six years (most of it written by the band), E.S.P. is a brilliantly-executed treatise on the workings of tension and release. The songs are predominantly modal and the structures themselves are different, with a minimalist bent and more emphasis placed on melodies that are repeated, fractured, improvised upon, and released into the ether of total, free sound.
The supple rhythm section--powerhouse drummer Tony Williams and bassist Ron Carter--provide ample room for Davis, Hancock, and Shorter to explore interlocking melodies, notably on the jaunty "Eighty-One" and the sweet lullaby "Iris." On "Agitation," Williams brings the noise, grafting the rhythmic freedom of the day's free-form music to the group's tuneful and "out" playing.
Tracks include: E.S.P-. Eighty-One -. Little One -. R.J. - Agitation - Iris - Mood

"Miles Davis, Five 180 Gram Set - Friday Night At Blackhawk Vol. 1 & 2 - In Europe - Jazz At the Plaza & Basic Miles The Classic Performances From 1955-1962"
MILES DAVIS: FRIDAY NIGHT AT BLACKHAWK VOL I & 2 - 2 LP SET - IN EUROPE - JAZZ AT THE PLAZA & BASIC MILES CLASSIC PERFORMANCES
- FIVE 180 GRAM LP SET
MILES DAVIS IN EUROPE -
The recordings of Miles' 1964 Philharmonic Hall concert have acquired a reputation for being Miles' best live recordings from the '63-'64 period. As an avid Miles fan, I agreed with that assessment. That was before I had ever heard this concert from the Antibes jazz festival.
This album is AS GOOD if not in some ways better than Miles' justly famous "My Funny Valentine" and "Four and More" albums. Miles himself plays as intensely as in the 1964 Phil. Hall concert, and his trumpet technique itself is often crisper in the Antibes concert. George Coleman's playing may be more adventurous and intense here than on the 1964 concert, which makes him a better fit with the Hancock/Carter/Williams rhythm section. All through this recording, the quintet's interaction has a giddy, at times playful tone, and the musicians' excitement can be easily heard.

JAZZ AT THE PLAZA -
Miles Davis's KIND OF BLUE is nothing if not legendary, and this live date captures most of the classic Kind of Blue band in concert. Recorded at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan in 1958 and originally released in 1973, this live set superbly spotlights Davis's "walking on eggshells" melodicism. Pianist Bill Evans, alto and tenor saxophonists Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane, drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Paul Chambers, and Davis blow the blues on Sonny Rollins's "Oleo" and Thelonious Monk's "Straight No Chaser." Davis's warm, Harmon-muted trumpet melodically shoots Cupid's arrow on "If I Were a Bell" and "My Funny Valentine," with Evans's piano lines sounding equally footed in Ravel and modal bop. Add the Bird flights of Adderley and the spooling energy of Coltrane and you have one of the top groups at the top of their game. This is a marvel, a hot and cool preview to the band's landmark 1959 KIND OF BLUE exploration.

BLACK HAWK VOLUME ONE & TWO - 2 LP SET - DIGITALLY REMASTERED DIRECTLY FROM THE ORIGINAL ANALOG TAPES - VOLUME ONE: It's commonplace for Miles' followers to dismiss the groups between Coltrane and Shorter. By his actions on the stand and his comments away from it, Miles made it clear that he was unhappy with Coltrane's immediate replacements--Sonny Stitt, George Coleman and, most pointedly of all, Hank Mobley. But Miles' own insistence on the progressive, the revolutionary, the newest thing, should not be confused with the actual musical statements by his groups. No player was more welcome in a Van Gelder recording studio than Hank Mobley who, though hardly an innovator or trend-setter, was one of the most soulful, melodically inventive players on the scene. It's especially refreshing to hear him away from the Blue Note stable of players and in the company of Miles' rhythm section on this Columbia recording, which captures Hank's inspired lyricism at its best (his solo on "Blackbird" eclipses even Coltrane's on the same tune from the "'Round Midnight" session). In the case of this "transitional" group, Miles' proclaimed loss is the listener's gain.

VOLUME TWO: This LP is the second of 2 that chronicle Miles' stay at the Blackhawk in San Francisco in 1961.
Both dates of the Blackhawk shows are prime examples of the greatness of MILES working group.
While the Friday night show contained mainly ballads, Saturday night finds the band taking on more up-tempo numbers, and with it the band relaxes into a wonderful groove. Even the slower numbers, like "So What," are sped up during this particular evening. The band was definitely up for the change of pace.
Hank Mobley is the major recipient of the up-tempo nature of the show. His time spent with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers proved that he had the chops needed to play quickly and confidently. Mobley at his best within Miles' group comes with his solo on Sonny Rollins' "Oleo." While the solo lasts a mere minute or so, Mobley took the tension created by Miles' calculated, reserved, mute solo, and blows it out of the water with his frenzied attack, which is certainly akin to what both Rollins and Coltrane were playing at the time. Mobley's attack is what the rhythm section of Kelly, Chambers, and Cobb needed. It allowed them to pick up the pace, and led to Kelly's tasty solo after Mobley's. Kelly's solo is a bit more refined, but no less impressive. The piece showed off prime solo chops by 2 of jazz's legends.
The rest of the lp is no less impressive. The pieces are up-tempo, with all parties involved bringing their "A" games to the table. Miles' playing is wonderful, and dominated by his harmon mute. As always, his solos are short, conpact, very to the point. Mobley's playing throughout is inspired. One can sense that Mobley was on that night, and that he KNEW it, as well. Kelly's solos are always a delight to hear. His playing moves a lot, taking on octaves, arpeggios, and more of a lead character even when he's playing accompanying block chords. Chambers and Cobb were as tight a low end rhythm section as jazz had, and the lp allows them to dominate the proceedings in an up-tempo way.
Both BLACKHAWK SHOWS (Friday night & Saturday night) are recommended to hear the full scale of what this short-lived working band could accomplish.

"Miles Davis, Four & More - 180 Gram - CURRENTLY SOLD OUT"
MILES DAVIS: FOUR & MORE - Recorded Live In Concert
Factory Sealed 180 Gram Limited Edition classic LP high-definition Virgin Vinyl pressing for superior fidelity from the Analog Master.
This recording presents portions of two Miles Davis concerts which were held iin Philharmonic Hall at Lincon Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. Miles was in rare form on both occasions.
The combination of Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Tony Williams and George Coleman show how creative musicians can retain their individuality while performing in a well-established and well-defined area of group and solo playing. The guidelines laid down by their illustrious predecessors (Red Garland, Paul Chambers, Philly Joe Jones and John Coltrane) are very much in evidence, as are their own extensions and newer directions.
This is a must have for a jazz or miles collector. It is perhaps the last album that Miles let it all out, and is a collection of the best version of these jazz standards. George Coleman lets it all out, and shows what a great journeyman he is. Herbie and Ron solidly support, and of course, the "young Tony Williams" brings a new nervous energy which vaults this album into the stratosphere.

he Moody Blues: Justin Hayward (vocals, guitar); John Lodge (vocals, bass instrument); Ray Thomas (flute, harmonica); Mike Pinder (keyboards); Graeme Edge (drums, percussion).
Though this 1971 release was issued at a time of enormous commercial success for the Moody Blues, EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR contains some of the band's most adventurous music. The band had recently discovered the Moog synthesizer, and its presence is felt on much of the album. The opening "Procession" instantly sets this collection's experimental course, landing like a spacecraft among reams of cascading synthesizer before evolving into a soundscape of cricket chirps, thunderclaps, and tribal chanting. The next three minutes contain one of the most cathartic sonic explorations the band has ever put forth.
Other standout tracks include "After You Came," which features tessellated vocal layering and bluesy guitar work; "Emily," a song that John Lodge wrote for his daughter; and the rapturously symphonic "You Can Never Go Home." Rich, complex, powerful, and beautifully produced, EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR brings together all of the Moody Blues' best qualities in one album, standing as the culmination of their fine '60s work, and the standard-bearer for the music to come.

String section includes: Hyman Goodman, Jay Rosen, John deVoogdt, David Turner, Tibor Zelig, Samuel Boghossian, Myron Sandler, Sven Reher, Linn Subotnick, Marilyn Baker, Philip Goldberg, Jesse Ehrlich, Giacinto Nardulli, Salvatore Crimi, Henry Ferber, Beldassare Ferlazzo, Wilbert Nuttycombe, Shari Zippert, Walter Wiemeyer, Richard Kaufman.
Recorded live at the Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, California on August 24, 1972. Originally released on MCA Records (6896). Includes liner notes by Karen Shearer.
All songs written by Neil Diamond.
In addition to his excellent skills as a songwriter, Neil Diamond is also known for his bold, often theatrical performance style. One glance at the cover of HOT AUGUST NIGHT--Diamond clothed in denim and Native American jewelry, with his hands hovering over his body, and an expression suggesting a trance of intensity--and the listener knows he or she is in for some serious performing. The pop icon delivers as expected; HOT AUGUST NIGHT, recorded in 1972 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, documents the epic showmanship of a Neil Diamond concert.
Listeners will certainly get their money's worth. Diamond's best-loved songs stuff the two-disc, 25-track set list--the ubiquitous "Sweet Caroline," the infectious "Song Sung Blue," et al, plus versions of "Red Red Wine" and "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon," which he wrote, but were also hits for others. An energetic backing band and a full string section complement the singer's impassioned performances, and an encore medley of "Soolaimon" and "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show" brings the show to a fiery close. HOT AUGUST NIGHT remains one of Diamond's best-selling albums. Give it a listen and see why.

"Neil Diamond, You Don't Bring Me Flowers"
CBS 1/2 Speed Master LP
"Out of Print, Last Copy"
NEIL DIAMOND - YOU DON'T BRING ME FLOWERS.
These Albums were mastered in Half-Speed technology which allows more time for the Original Session Master Tape to be transferred perfectly to Vinyl, a very costly and time-consuming process that was also used by Mo - Fi.
Each has superior packaging and unique static free inner sleeves to protect each piece of vinyl. Known for their pure and natural sound - still considered some of the best Vinyl ever created. Mymusicfix only has a few of these CBS MasterStound Pressings available and could be the last in this Factory Sealed condition. Don’t Miss Out!!
You Don't Bring Me Flowers may not be on par with Neil's earlier albums from the '70s such as "Tap Root Manuscript", "Stones", and "Moods". However, for the Neil Diamond fan, this one is worth owning. This release was produced by Bob Gaudio as was 1977s "I'm Glad You're Here With Me Tonight" (and other Diamond albums) and is actually quite similar in its production values. After 1976's "Beautiful Noise" Neil's sound seemed to move from the big, expansive sound of his previous albums to music with more of a smaller "band" feel. Granted, this album is more in the "fluffy pop" category than some of his deeper, earlier work, but still very enjoyable for many Diamond fans, including me. This album did produce two big singles for Neil that year: "Forever In Blue Jeans" and his duet with Barbra Streisand on "You Don't Bring Me Flowers". By the way, if you are a fan of "Flowers", Neil originally performed this song solo on the "I'm Glad You're Here With Me Tonight" album, which is also a very good version.
If you like Neil but don't own "You Don't Bring Me Flowers", you should add this one to your collection.

"Norah Jones, Come Away With Me - 200 Gram - 45 Speed - 4 Pieces of Vinyl in a Box Set"
NORAH JONES – COME AWAY WITH ME - CLASSIC RECORDS BOX SET - CURRENTLY IN AN OUT OF PRINT SITUATION - DON'T MISS OUT - THE AUDIOPHILE 45 SPEED BOX SET THAT INCLUDES FOUR 12" ONE SIDED PIECES OF VINYL.
THE NOW RARE 45 SPEED FOUR LP BOX SET OF THE SAME TITLE. THIS TITLE HAS GONE IMMEADIATELY OUT OF PRINT.
THE WORD IN THE INDUSTRY IS THAT CLASSIC RECORDS PREVIOUSLY RELEASED TITLES ARE NOW OUT OF PRINT. IF THAT IS TRUE THESE MASTERPIECES ARE GOING TO BE PRICELESS.
Classic Records' newest formulation: CLARITY SV-P II CLEAR VINYL!
The genesis of the new formula came as a result of a visit to High End Audio's self proclaimed Vinyl Guru Michael Fremer's Analog Laboratory. Mr. Fremer demonstrated a Furutech LP demagnetizer. After using the demagnetizer, vocals had so much more texture, bass definition and clarity of every nuance of the recording was vastly improved and there was more low level information than we had ever heard in the recording.
Why did the demagnetizer had the sonic effects on a record? Very simply the carbon black that is ADDED to vinyl for LP manufacture contains trace metals that become randomly magnetized and interfere electrically with the cartridge hanging overhead during play. So... if carbon black and the trace metals contained therein caused playback distortion in the cartridge then why not take out the carbon black altogether? Classic Records Clarity SV-P II Clear Vinyl is the answer!
Clarity Vinyl represents the ultimate in vinyl formulations because it is comprised of over 90% percentage of the highest quality co-polymer available - a key component in vinyl pellets used for manufacturing vinyl records. Further, Clarity Vinyl has no carbon black additive, common in vinyl formulas for LP's. Carbon Black contains trace metals that become magnetized and cause "electrical distortions" in cartridges during playback that smears the sound. By taking out the Carbon Black, Classic Records is able to dramatically reduce the "electrical distortions" and thus bring more "Clarity" to the playback process, providing a more realistic musical experience to the listener and LP enthusiast.
45 rpm records have long been recognized as providing a higher fidelity musical experience resulting purely from the cartridge being able to extract more of the nuance from the complex vertical and horizontal groove modulations in stereo LP's. Further, Classic Records 45 rpm "single sided" pressings dramatically reduce the mechanical resonances created by the cartridge during playback by allowing these resonances to be more fully transmitted to and absorbed by the turntable platter. Classic Records Clarity Vinyl 45 rpm pressings are designed and manufactured to provide the "LOWEST DISTORTION" in every aspect of LP playback resulting in putting the listener as close to the music as possible. 200 Gram Heavy Vinyl LP by Classic Records has been critically acclaimed as the finest and quietest ever produced. It is a new listening experience that will virtually make you feel as if you were in the studio.
Genre-busting artists often disappoint stylistically because they end up diluting the power of their influences while failing to create a fusion as substantial as any of the components. Even if artistically successful, their debut albums often suffer disappointing sales due to marketing and promotional placement vagaries. Tossing music into a pre-fabricated slot is one thing: creating a new one is another. In the case of stylistically ambiguous NORAH JONES, it has all come together brilliantly. This, her debut album, quickly attracted a strong following when it was issued early last year on Blue Note (though it is not a jazz album), and it appears to be building a growing fan base as diverse as Jones' musical influences.
If all of this is old news, sorry. The occasion for this review is Classic's recent 200g SV-CLARITY vinyl issue. For cynics in the music business who dismiss the value or commercial viability of careful A&R work (finding and compiling good tunes), of smart, spare production and "high fidelity" engineering, and of simply presenting an artist honestly, the continued success and extended shelf-life of Come Away With Me should be a shock to the system (though you could say Diana Krall's discography has already shocked that system).
While Come Away With Me explores new musical territory, it is built upon the aforementioned old-fashioned 1950's record biz ingredients. Key to the album's distinctive country-jazz feel is Jones' Floyd Cramer-ish piano chordings propelled by Lee Alexander's syncopated double-bass beat. Adam Levy's electric guitar lines on the title track ring more of country twang than jazz virtuosity, but the references, as with everything on this disc, are understated.
You get the sense that one of Jones' first recorded encounters with the piano was Floyd Cramer's "bent-note" laden "Last Date." The Cramer influence makes even more sense considering the late pianist's eclectic musical background: he played with Elvis, Perry Como, Roy Orbison and jazz/country guitarist Hank Garland. But then, I'm just speculating. Despite the star's piano, guitars dominate most of the arrangements, helping to add another layer of musical complexity Jones' breathy, feline vocals reference neither a Patricia Barber-style hipster nor an early k.d. lang cowboy; the lilting roll to her "L"s and a number of other subtle affectations suggest black vocal influences or maybe that's her racial heritage speaking. From the cover photo even that's ambiguous.
Out of desperation to slot her somewhere, she's been compared to Billie Holiday, perhaps because of her pitch and timbre. Whatever the crafty complex components of the musical mix, when Jones suggests "Come Away With Me," on the title track, you definitely want to go. Songwriting chores are shared by Jones, bassist Alexander and guitarist Jesse Harris (who recently cut his own solo recording deal) and there are Hank Williams ("Cold, Cold Heart"), and John D. Loudermilk ("Turn me on") covers. Accenting the unpredictable, the set ends with Jones soloing on the Hoagy Carmichael standard "The Nearness of You."

"Otis Redding & Carla Thomas, King & Queen 180 Gram - CURRENTLY SOLD OUT"
Otis Redding and Carla Thomas recorded one album together, but is an R&B gem. Motown started the duet album trend by pairing Marvin Gaye with Mary Wells, Kim Weston and most famously Tammi Terrell, so this was Stax/Volt’s rebuttal. The album is made up of mostly covers, but Otis Redding and Carla Thomas attack the songs with a ferocity and verve that makes them sound all their own. Otis Redding’s smooth voice easily mingles with the sass of Carla Thomas’ and this is no better illustrated than on “Tramp” which is pure Southern Soul. They do a tender take on Sam & Dave’s “When Something Is Wrong With My Baby” and Aaron Neville’s “Tell It Like It Is” while ripping it up on Eddie Floyd’s “Knock On Wood” and “Lovey Dovey”. It is interesting to hear them do the Gaye/Weston song “It Takes Two” as there was always a rivalry between Motown and Stax/Volt. KING & QUEEN was a boastful title and the two more tha live up to the claim
Tracks Include: "Knock On Wood" "Let Me Be Good To You" "Tramp" "Tell It Like It Is" "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" "Lovey Dovey" "New Year's Resolution" 'It Takes Two" "Are You Lonely For Me Baby" "Bring It On Home To Me" "Ooh Carla,Ooh Otis".

"Pat Metheny, Christian McBride & Antonio Sanchez, Day Trip - Tokyo Day Trip Live - 180 Gramd 3 LP Set with CDs"
PAT METHENY - CHRISTIAN MCBRIDE & ANTONIO SANCHEZ - DAY TRIP - TOKYO DAY TRIP LIVE FACTORY SEALED 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE 3 LP SET PLUS CD'S OF THE COMPLETE SET.
Out of Print LP - High definition 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE vinyl pressing for superior fidelity. The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and ears. The ultimate record – the way music was meant to be heard.
"The Pat Metheny Trio's playing conveys a sense of proportion, substance and coherence, along with rigorous clarity; solid benchmarks for any great improvisers at the peak of their game." - The New York Times
The Day Trip sessions were recorded at Manhattan's Right Track studio in late October 2005, sequenced and released into a 10-song set in the winter of 2008. Reviews from the daily US press along the way have been a compendium of superlatives. The Philadelphia Inquirer declared, "Metheny shows why the trio is still relevant...There's nowhere to hide, and the easy fluency of Metheny's chops create a unique world. His energy and verve make it fun to follow where he goes." The Boston Herald concurred: "The trio format brings out the best in guitar virtuoso Pat Metheny, going all the way back to his stir-causing 1975 debut with drummer Bob Moses and late bass legend Jaco Pastorius...But his current ensemble...is arguably his best yet." And The Louisville Courier Journal summed up the nightly reaction to the trio's sets, "it was a collaborative tour de force that earned a standing ovation."

"Patricia Barber, Nightclub - Factory Sealed MFSL SACD"
MFSL Super Audio CD
PATRICIA BARBER – NIGHTCLUB - SACD –
Super Audio CD is re-mastered by Mobile Fidelity featuring new liner notes by Bill Dahl. The greatest advancement since the introduction of stereo, Super Audio CDs employ the innovative single-bit encoding system, Direct Stream Digital. Every SACD player performs superbly with Compact Discs.
And Hybrid SACDs will play back beautifully on CD players.
The piano-playing singer Patricia Barber has quite a pearl of 12 standards on NIGHTCLUB with three stellar trios, including three tracks with Charlie Hunter's eight-string guitar.
The incomparable bassist Marc Johnson also adds supple support on a few tunes and has a very tasty solo on "Yesterdays." And speaking of soloing, because Barber's vocal phrasing, rhythm, and timbre are so unique, it's easy to overlook her brilliant improvisations on piano. Despite their surface similarities, Barber seems worlds apart from Diana Krall in her presentation. Putting out an album of standards after the ultrahip Modern Cool challenges Barber with a different concept, rather than an attempt to capitalize on the tremendous success of other mainstream jazz vocalists (Krall included).
In fact, if there's a problem here, it's that the sardonic wit displayed on Barber's previous releases is missing. On the other hand, it's mightily refreshing to report that a great American jazz singer who established herself on her own material has succeeded at an album of standard tunes. It's a chain of events that most vocalists can't claim. On Nightclub, Barber creates a dark, smoky atmosphere where, like any good impressionistic artist, she brings listeners into her world and lets them enjoy art from her side of the creative pane. Quite an accomplishment. Being the daughter of Glenn Miller Orchestra-veteran-saxophonist Floyd "Shim" Barber, it's safe to say Patricia Barber was born with jazz in her blood.
The sultry vocalist/pianist has released only six albums during a 20-year career, yet those albums chart an ever-growing critical and commercial acclaim. Barber's 1994 release Café Blue led to her winning the "Female Vocalist/Talent Deserving Wider Recognition" category in the 1995 Down Beat International Critics Poll. Her '98 album Modern Cool, like its successor, Companion, charted in the Billboard Top Ten. "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," like Barber's latest album Nightclub, features the acclaimed rhythm section of bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Adam Nussbaum.

EASTER - Patti Smith cowrote her first big hit, "Because the Night," with Bruce Springsteen, and that track was the force behind this album's ascent of the U.S. Top 40. Never fully departing from her punk-poetess roots, Easter was nonetheless produced by hit maker Jimmy Iovine, resulting in a more accessible overall sound than her earlier work. Her vocal gymnastics and dramatic rock & roll sensibilities threw sparks in every direction, with the vitriolic "Rock N Roll Nigger" and the anthemic "Till Victory" further paving the way for punks and women rockers everywhere. Churchly keyboards and huge drums drive Smith's quest for "a reason to live" on the religiously inquisitive "Privilege" and she's unabashedly sexy on the raunchy "25th Floor." A great work all around

HORSES - On her 1975 debut, Smith was full of piss and vinegar, seriously interested in bringing together high art and low three-chord rock & roll. As a result, her free-form poetry meshes with covers of "Gloria" and "Land of a Thousand Dances," and the album centers on two long, highfalutin' pieces, including the three-part suite (warning! warning! art!) "Land."

"Peter Gabriel, 4 - 200 Gram LP - 4 LPs - 45 speed"
PETER GABRIEL – FOUR - CLASSIC RECORDS BOX SET - CURRENTLY IN AN OUT OF PRINT SITUATION - DON'T MISS OUT - THE AUDIOPHILE 45 SPEED BOX SET THAT INCLUDES FOUR 12" ONE SIDED PIECES OF VINYL.
And of course cutting at 45 speed is the audiophile choice for the highes quality. A 45-RPM record is sonically superior to a 33 1/3 variety because of a 35 percent reduction of groove curvature compared to a 33 1/3 cut.. It means that while you can't fit as much music into a 45, the undukations of the groove that your cartridge has to track are stretched over a longer distance. For these reissues, the music was displaced onto four sides, meaning each side contains about 10 minutes of music.
The only way you'll get closer to this classic music is to listen to the master tapes or have been in the studio with the artist originally during the actual session.
THE NOW RARE 45 SPEED FOUR LP BOX SET OF THE SAME TITLE. THIS TITLE HAS GONE IMMEDIATELY OUT OF PRINT. CLASSIC RECORDS IS NOW OUT OF BUSINESS AND THEIR AUDIOPHILE MASTERPIECES ARE NOW GOING THRU THE ROOF IN THE COLLECTORS MARKET.

So... if carbon black and the trace metals contained therein caused playback distortion in the cartridge then why not take out the carbon black altogether?
The Classic Reissue was cut from the original 1/2" 30 ips analog master tapes on the Classic all tube stereo cutting system at Bernie Grundman Mastering by "The Wizard" Bernie Grundman himself. Classic Records is please to offer this 45rpm Four single-sided discs set on Classic Records 200g Clarity SV-P for the first time!
Features:
• Quiex Clarity SV-P II Clear Vinyl
• 45rpm
• 200g

FOUR - Gabriel’s fourth album, which was titled Security in the U.S., continues where the third album left off, sharing some of the same dense production and sense of cohesion, yet lightening the atmosphere and expanding the sonic palette somewhat. The gloom that permeates the third album has been alleviated. and while this is still decidedly somber and serious music, it has a brighter feel, partially derived from Gabriel’s dabbling in African and Latin rhythms. These are generally used as tonal coloring, enhancing the synthesizers that form the basic musical bed of the record. 4 flows easily and enticingly with songs like the eerie “San Jacinto,” “I Have the Touch” and “Shock the Monkey.” It remains a powerful listen, one of the better records in Gabriel’s catalog.

2. San Jacinto
3. I Have The Touch
4. Family And The Fishing Net
5. Shock The Monkey

"Peter Gabriel, I/Car - 200 Gram LP - 4 LP Box Set - 45 Speed"
PETER GABRIEL – ONE/CAR - CLASSIC RECORDS BOX SET - CURRENTLY IN AN OUT OF PRINT SITUATION - DON'T MISS OUT - THE AUDIOPHILE 45 SPEED BOX SET THAT INCLUDES FOUR 12" ONE SIDED PIECES OF VINYL.
THIS TITLE HAS GONE IMMEADIATELY OUT OF PRINT. THE BOX HAS A SLIGHT BRUISE FROM THE DISTRIBUTOR CLASSIC RECORDS WHEN SHIPPED TO US. EVERYTHING ELSE IS PERFECT.
The first of three solo albums by the ex-Genesis singer, all to be officially released as only "Peter Gabriel". In time, the three would take on "also-known-as" nicknames based on the front-cover artwork of each. This volume is usually referred to as Peter Gabriel (I, Car). In 1977 there was much anticipation for the first solo effort from the flamboyant Gabriel. Three years had passed since his swan song with Genesis. He had certainly exited on a high note indeed with The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. While fans shouldn't have worried about the survival of Genesis without their original lead singer, neither would they be disappointed in his solo debut. Produced by Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper), he addressed the split with his band mates in the allegoric hit "Solsbury Hill", while retaining the art-rock sensibilities he had pioneered. The balance of the album, transferred from the artist's personal original master tapes, includes other concert favorites, such as "Moribund The Burgermeister", "Modern Love", "Excuse Me", "Humdrum", "Slowburn", "Waiting For the Big One", "Down The Dolce Vita" (featuring the London Symphony Orchestra) and "Here Comes The Flood". .

"Peter Green, The Best of Peter Green's - The Anthology Man Of The World 1968-1983 - 180 Gram Double LP"
The Best of Peter Green's - THE ANTHOLOGY MAN OF THE WORLD 1968-1983 - 180 Gram Limited Edition classic double LP SET high-definition Virgin Vinyl pressing for superior fidelity.
Collectors Alert: Many of these Titles will never be available again. Their license to produce these 180 Gram Masterpieces with Universal Records International has Ended. This means that this specific title is now out of print forever and there are very few remaining is sealed condition. This title is going to skyrocket in value & price over the next few months. So Don't Miss Out on being one of the last people to own this outstanding pressing. This is one the last pressing you will ever see at this price. Don't Miss Out.
Peter Green is a genius in the same way that Brian Wilson or Syd Barrett is a genius. Green's genius is so natural--such an extension of who he is--that he can no sooner separate the fact that he has genius from the fact that he has ten fingers...it's just the way it is and it's a part of him. I guess it's only we who don't have this genius that can recognize it in him...it's as if the genius that we don't have is a finger that we are missing.
Peter Green's search for himself has taken him places that few have dared to go, and he's had difficulties since he embarked on this search...alas, a one-way trip. But to hear the music that this man has created gives us a glimpse of his synesthaesic whimsies and wonders.
After departing John Mayall's Blues Breakers with mates John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, Green formed a band that would continue exploration of blues as was going on in the mid- to late-1960's in England with bands like The Yardbirds, The Animals and others. The original Fleetwood Mac could suck in the listener and hold him in the palm of their collective hand. To say that their music had a groove you could fall right into would only be telling half of the story. Do yourself a favor and look up some of their early catalog like "English Rose" or "Then Play On". In particular search for "Chicago 1969", one helluva album!
When Green left the Mac, he was sought after by many other groups, and players would assemble around him just to record. His Splinter Group, too, made some wonderful recordings. This double LP set is a collection of all of Green's early works, and is a great set of tunes to listen to!
If you've ever seen B.B. King or Eric Clapton play, you've seen how the guitar is just a natural part of their body...like the music in the guitarist's head just flows right through into and out of his amp. This is what you get from Peter Green.
TRACKS ARE - SIDE ONE AND TWO ARE ALL FROM FLEETWOOD MAC EXCEPT WHERE NOTED - MAN OF THE WORLD - LONG GREY MARE - FAST TALKING WOMAN BLUES - JUMPING AT SHADOWS (LIVE) - BLACK MAGIC WOMAN (LIVE) - SHOWBIZ BLUES - URANUS (BRUNNING SUNFLOWER BLUES BAND) - OH WELL (LIVE) - IF YOU LET ME LOVE YOU (LIVE) - LAZY POKER BLUES - THE GREEN MANALISHI
