"Queensryche, Empire"
QUEENSRYCHE - EMPIRE DCC Sealed 24 Karat Gold CD Long out of print.
Exploring the uncharted territory between heavy metal and progressive rock, Queensryche has always been difficult to categorize. While Operation: Mindcrime is their most highly-praised album, Empire remains their most accessible, with a somewhat more commercial approach that has no negative impact on the quality of the material. Empire produced a string of hit singles, including "Best I Can," the title track, "Jet City Woman," and "Silent Lucidity" (probably their best-known song, and ironically unlike most of their other work). At times sounding a great deal like Pink Floyd, Empire is an impressive collection that is all substance, no filler. "Anybody Listening?", which closes the album, is probably the best perspective on a life lived on stage since Rush's "Limelight".
Track listing
1. Best I Can
2. Thin Line, The
3. Jet City Woman
4. Della Brown
5. Another Rainy Night (Without You)
6. Empire
7. Resistance
8. Silent Lucidity
9. Hand On Heart
10. One And Only
11. Anybody Listening?
Queensryche: Geoff Tate (vocals, keyboards); Chris DeGarmo (6- & 12-string acoustic & electric guitars, keyboards, background vocals); Michael Wilton (6- & 12-string acoustic & electric guitars); Eddie Jackson (electric & fretless basses, background vocals); Scott Rockenfield (drums, percussion).
Additional personnel: Michael Kamen (strings); B.O.B. (background vocals).
Engineers: James "Jimbo" Barton, Paul Northfield.
Recorded at Vancouver Studios, Vancouver, Canada and Triad Studios, Redmond, Washington in 1990.
Digitally remastered by Steve Hoffman.
With the breakthrough success and worldwide respect that Queensryche gained from their conceptual masterpiece OPERATION: MINDCRIME, how could the band possibly outdo or at the least match themselves? Just two years after the release of MINDCRIME Queensryche reinvented themselves (though certainly not for the last time). While many fans were clamoring for a conceptual sequel, the band returned to a song-oriented approach that was more art rock and less metal-edged.
Now quite far removed from the fantasy and techno-paranoia lyrical themes of their earlier works, the band tackled overcoming social and physical handicaps ("Best I Can"), poverty, and regret ("Della Brown"). Focused much less on the darker side of love that was always so prevalent in their sound, the band was now brave enough to be romantic ("Another Rainy Night" and "Hand On Heart"). While Queensryche lost some diehard metal fans with EMPIRE, the mature sound and tight production of Peter Collins (Rush) saw the band break into the mainstream (and top off at #9 on the Billboard singles chart) with the Pink Floyd-inspired "Silent Lucidity."

Album notes
Personnel includes: Joan Baez (vocals, acoustic guitar, Moog synthesizer, ARP synthesizer); Joni Mitchell (vocals); Larry Carlton (conductor, acoustic & electric guitars); Dean Parks (acoustic & electric guitars); Red Rhodes (pedal steel guitar); Sidney Sharp, William Kurasch, James Getzoff, Carl La Magna, Robert Konrad, Ronald Folsom, Tibor Zelig, William Hymanson, Robert Ostrowsky, Raymond Kelly (violin); Isabelle Daskoff (viola); Jesse Ehrlich (cello); Tom Scott (flute); Hampton Hawes (piano); Larry Knechtel (piano, electric piano); David Paich (piano, electric harpsichord); Joe Sample (electric piano, Hammond organ); Malcolm Cecil (Moog synthesizer, ARP synthesizer, programming); Reinne Press, Wilton Felder (bass); Jim Gordon (drums); Gordo (percussion); Bob Margouleff (programming).
Engineers: Rick Ruggieri, Henry Lewy.
Principally recorded at A&M Studios, Hollywood, California on January 21-24, 1975. Includes original release liner notes by Bernard Gelb.
Joan Baez scored the biggest commercial success of her career with this 1975 album by tapping into the '70s singer-songwriter zeitgeist in the manner of Joni Mitchell's post-BLUE albums. Baez even recruited Mitchell and her then-current band, the L.A. Express, for the fusion-like groove of "Di Da," and salted the other tracks with guest shots by pop-jazzers Tom Scott, Hampton Hawes, and Larry Carlton. Baez also includes covers of Jackson Browne's "Fountain of Sorrow," John Prine's "Hello in There," and Stevie Wonder's "Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer."
DIAMONDS AND RUST is perhaps best viewed as Baez's response to Dylan's confessional BLOOD ON THE TRACKS, including two songs directly addressing their '60s romance (the title track and "Winds of the Old Days"). As in the past, Baez also performs a song from Dylan's most recent album, in this case, "Simple Twist of Fate" from the aforementioned record. DIAMONDS AND RUST is an oddity in Joan Baez's career, but it's one of her strongest albums.

All tracks have been digitally remastered.
Relishing the artistic freedom afforded by the success of WHAT'S GOING ON, Marvin Gaye recorded this sultry paean to sex. Where its predecessor relied on complex arrangements, the straightforward sound of LET'S GET IT ON focused attention on its tight rhythms, strong melodies, and Gaye's expressive, nuanced singing. For sheer sensual come-on, it's hard to beat the title track, one of the finest celebrations of the joys of human chemistry ever recorded. But the self-explanatory "Come Get to This" and "You Sure Love to Ball" aren't far behind in terms of passionate execution and visceral impact.
Though LET'S GET IT ON has its reflective moments, notably the beautiful ballad "Distant Lover," Gaye's focus is on the here and now, and the intensity of his vocal performances and the silky, fluid feel of the arrangements inform the sensual "carpe diem" philosophy. Just as WHAT'S GOING ON opened the floodgates for political soul music, LET'S GET IT ON defined the "lover man" genre populated by luminaries like Al Green, Barry White, and Isaac Hayes.
Editorial reviews
3 stars out of 5 - ...His deliberations on the boundaries between love and sex are beautifully sung...
Uncut (20030501)
4 stars out of 5 - ...A perfect seduction-groove record...

"Freddie Hubbard, Backlash"
To jazz fans under the age of 30, the name Freddie Hubbard probably won't signify a superstar. From the 1960s to the late 1980s, however, he was the third-best trumpeter in the music (behind Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis). Illness triggered a decline in the 1990s, but, thankfully, there are still numerous reissues that recall his greatness. Backlash, from 1966, finds the former member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in a jazz-R&B hybrid mood with pianist Albert Dailey, drummer Otis Ray Appleton, saxophonist/flutist James Spaulding, and percussionist Ray Barretto. Technically, Hubbard's robust Clifford Brown-influenced chops are in full effect. "On the Que Tee," "Up Jumped Spring," and the title track all reflect the soulful spell of Lee Morgan's hit "Sidewinder." But this date is best remembered for giving the world the first version of Hubbard's lovely jazz standard "Little Sunflower." With the lilting Latin tinges provided by Barretto, Hubbard floats above those rhythms with lyrical ease, reminding us of the majesty of his music.

Born on August 15, 1934 in Toccoa, Georgia, Bobby Byrd is perhaps best remembered as being the founder of The Famous Flames, the group which backed James Brown on so many of his hits and was, in many ways, as much responsible for their hit status as was Brown himself. Byrd also was the "warm up" act at most of Brown's live concerts before returning to perform back of the master with the group.

"Otis Redding, In Person At The Whiskey A Go Go"
Recorded in 1966, Otis Redding's In Person At The Whisky A Go Go is one of his best live albums, and is one of the best and most energetic live albums ever made. The album kicks off with the great I Can't Turn You Loose followed by Pain In My Heart, from Redding's first album. This is followed by the soulful plea of Just One More Day and a great version of his earlier hit Mr. Pitiful. The recording of Satisfaction on here is even better then the version on Otis Blue, and easily rivals the Stone's version.
This is followed by three great soul songs, I'm Depending On You, Any Ole Way and the great ballad These Arms of Mine. Reddin then goes into a kickin' version of James Brown's Papa's Got A Brand New Bag, which at least as good as the original. The album closes with the classic Respect. This is just a tour de force performance and you can feel the energy coming off of it. This prooves just how great of a voice Otis Redding had and just how soulful he was. This is an essential album in Otis Redding's catalog and in the history of Soul and R&B.

This recording is just so cool! Little Sonny has got to be one of the funkiest harp players ever. His sound is very full and dynamic. His band is one solid, rockin', funkified unit. To me, they sound as though they have fused electric delta blues and James Brown style funk. And, believe me, they do it effortlessly. These guys are first-rate musicians who have honed their style for years in some of the greasiest bars in Detroit.

"Frank Zappa, Later Works"
Limited Japanese FRANK ZAPPA/LATER WORKS box includes A BONUS ADDITIONAL BOX PLUS THESE 6 Japanese OBI MINI REPLICA LP'S. -
DOES HUMOR BELONG IN MUSIC - Originally released only in Europe without permission, Does Humor Belong In Music? was reworked by Zappa and released with much more material on CD. A snapshot of Zappa's 1984 band, this live album showcases the pared-down group's energy and ability on a set of concert favorites (with a few special oddities thrown in for good measure). The opening version of the instrumental "Zoot Allures" is one of the best takes on that song released on CD, and the closing "Whippin' Post" finds Zappa trading guitar licks with his son Dweezil. Often overshadowed by some of his other touring ensembles, this group--featuring Chad Wackerman, Scott Thunes, Bobby Martin, Allan Zavod and the dual frontmen of Ike Willis and Ray White-is distinctive and talented, and their performances on songs like "Let's Move to Cleveland" and "What's New in Baltimore" are essential to any Zappa collection. --Andrew Boscardin
From the Label
"Does Humor Belong in Music?"....like, you had to ask? This live album of highlights from the 1984 tour was originally released in Europe only, and has now been made available here with a spiffy new Cal Schenkel cover replacing the crummy graphics of the import (for you hardcore collectors, the performances are totally different from the ones on the video of the same name).
The material is a good cross-section of FZ's sets at the time, opening with a majestic "Zoot Allures" and moving through the topical "Hot-Plate Heaven at the Green Hotel" (making its recorded debut); and the instrumental solo showpiece "Let's Move to Cleveland," plus a discreet bit of doggerel called "Cock-Suckers' Ball" that's appeared nowhere else (FZ learned this one off a bootleg tape by a '50s doo-wop outfit). For the finale, there's an encore version of "Whippin' Post" featuring Dweezil on guitar. This was the last song from the last show of what Zappa intended to be his last tour, though he hit the road one more time in 1988.
PLAYGROUND PSYCHOTICS (2CD'S) - You wanted more old Mothers, you got 'em: This "archival" double CD, originally released in 1992, features performances and assorted dialogue snippets from the early 70s version of The Mothers, recorded onstage at NYC's Fillmore East, UCLA's Pauley Pavilion and The Rainbow Theatre in London, and offstage in various locales. This was the Flo & Eddie version of the band, with the ex-Turtles lending their quintessential California harmonies to some of the Mothers' funniest moments as well as their most straight-ahead rockers.
Of special interest is the John Lennon & Yoko Ono guest appearance at The Fillmore in 1971. It had been Lennon's first onstage appearance in nearly two years and his last for a long while, performing the blues standard "Well (Baby Please Don't Go)" and a long jam during which Yoko was tied up in a sack. This performance was heard in excerpted form on Lennon/Ono's album SOMETIME IN NEW YORK CITY; now it can finally be heard in context.

AHEAD OF THEIR TIME - Ahead of their time? No kidding. Another archival release, from 1993, this documents the early Mothers Of Invention as they perform live, along with members of The BBC Symphony Orchestra, at London's Royal Festival Hall in October of 1968. FZ spent some time in court dodging archaic British obscenity laws as a result of these very shows, so listen with some respect.

THE YELLOW SHARK - Released shortly after his death in 1993, The Yellow Shark represents one of the only accurate performances of Frank Zappa's "serious" orchestral music--at least as far as the composer was concerned. Assembled from a series of sold-out performances in Germany by the Ensemble Moderne, the set includes re-workings of old favorites like "The Dog Breath Variations" and "Uncle Meat," live arrangements of some of his hairiest computer music like "The Girl in the Magnesium Dress" and "G-Spot Tornado" and new works by Zappa composed specifically for the event. The performances are astonishing and the music? Pure Zappa
The 26-member Ensemble Modern performs FZ's 'most-humanly-impossible-to-play' compositions. Piano duets, string quintets & small ballets. Simply exquisite, with a 60-page booklet to explain it all. Originally released in 1993, it stayed on the classical chart for most of `94. Includes the tracks 'Outrage At Valdez,' 'None Of The Above,' & 'Welcome To The United States', plus arrangements of some of the most fiendishly difficult pieces from FZ's back catalogue & even a 'greatest hit' or two (some would pick this as the definitive version of 'Dog Breath Variations'). Sadly, this was the last album released by FZ during his lifetime

THE LOST EPISODES - Frank Zappa personally compiled this new Rykodisc collection of studio rarities, alternate versions, and unreleased tracks as one of his last projects -- not only as a way of paying tribute to many of the people who had affected his life but also as a gesture of appreciation to his fans. Assembled as a kind of after-hours project over 18 months in 1992 and 1993, THE LOST EPISODES includes 30 tracks spanning 1958-1972, with short detours to 1980 and 1992. Tracks of particular note include "Ronny's Booger Story" and "Kenny's Booger Story," which shed new light on the (ahem) incidents which inspired "Let's Make the Water Turn Black,” an early, jazz samba arrangement of "Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance,” ”Lil’ Clanton Shuffle,” a blues jam left off 1969’s HOT RATS which features Sugar Cane Harris on violin, original recordings of such Zappa gems as “RDNZL” and “Inca Roads,” the 1980 single version of "I Don't Wanna Get Drafted,” and five tracks featuring the vocal stylings of Don Van Vliet (aka Captain Beefheart) including one of the earliest Zappa-Beefheart studio collaborations, “Tiger Roach.” TLE’s cover art is by Gabor Csupo, founder of Klasky-Csupo Animation, the people who originally animated The Simpsons and now bring you Duckman and Rugrats. Packaged in a deluxe slipcase, the album is accompanied by a 52-page booklet with extensive liner notes by music journalist Rip Rense, including detailed commentary about each song derived from interviews with Zappa, engineer Spencer Chrislu, and a plethora of FZ's musical associates including Vliet, Ruth Underwood, Terry Bozzio, and James "Motorhead" Sherwood. Both Rense and Csupo contributed to this package at Zappa's request.
From his early rock combos of the late 50's to the primitive early-60’s Studio Z era, through the state-of-the-art Utility Muffin Research Kitchen to just about anywhere else FZ ever turned on a tape recorder, THE LOST EPISODES is an autobiographical glimpse behind the scenes of Zappa's long and varied recording career and a fascinating look at one of “popular music’s most brilliant -- and daunting -- figures” (Chicago Sun-Times). If you want to know the story of the time Zappa shared a stage with Louis Armstrong, if you want to hear FZ's Clio Award-winning music for a 1967 Luden's Cough Drop commercial, or if you simply want to know the meaning of the word "eructation," THE LOST EPISODES is the disc you need.

HAVE I OFFENDED SOMEONE- Although Zappa did not provide notes with the Offended? master tape, this compilation could be considered his idea of a "Best Of," and indeed, this collection features many of the tunes that first attracted legions of fans to his music. The aforementioned "Valley Girl," with vocals by daughter Moon Unit, was Zappa’s highest charting US single ever, reaching #32 in Billboard and earned Grammy nominations for Moon and FZ (his second), while the accompanying album, 1982’s Ship Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch, reached #23. But despite the commercial acclaim of the single and album, Zappa’s ironic sensibilities were lost on the public and the media. Said Zappa in an interview with Josef Woodard, "The worst thing about that record is the fact that nobody really listened to it... The whole coverage of the song barely mentioned what the song was really saying, that these people are really airheads." Nevertheless, the song’s success triggered a movement of sorts, with "Valley Girl" T-shirts, lunch boxes, cosmetics, and offers for a TV series and a film (eventually made without Zappa’s participation). A few years earlier, Zappa’s 1979 album Sheik Yerbouti (which spawned the US hit "Dancin’ Fool," a depiction of the male of the species in a disco frenzy) also contained two of his most razor-sharp and funny portrayals, "Jewish Princess" and "Bobby Brown Goes Down," both of which are included on Have I Offended Someone? Both songs sparked controversy. "Jewish Princess" brought a protest from the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, who asked the FCC to ban it from radio airplay. Zappa said the song was satire, threatened to sue, and refused to apologize. He’s quoted in The Real Frank Zappa Book as saying, "...unlike The Unicorn, such creatures do exist—and deserve to be commemorated with their own special opus." "Bobby Brown Goes Down" is perhaps the oddest of Zappa’s successes. This colorful tale of a young man's encounter with a dyke named Freddie" would never get airplay in the US, but it reached the top ofthe charts in Norway and Austria, was Top Ten in Germany and remains a favorite in territories where English is not the primary language. Said Zappa to Matt Groening in a 1992 Guitar World interview, "I don’t think anything has outsold Sheik Yerbouti, partly because "Bobby Brown" keeps becoming a hit every ten years... I think it was back on the charts again in Norway. For no apparent reason, it was back." Have I Offended Someone? also contains two previously unreleased live versions of popular tunes: "Tinsel Town Rebellion," Zappa’s picture of music business execs and musicians joined in an insincere tango in Hollywood ("Did you know that in Tinsel Town the people there think substance is a bore/But if your New Wave group looks good they’ll hurry on back for more... But then again this system works as perfect as a dream/It works for all those record company pricks who come to skim the cream") and "Dumb All Over," Zappa’s scathing rap on televangelists, and one of the most remarkable performances included here. But Have I Offended Someone? is more than great music and humorous lyrics; this collection illuminates Frank Zappa’s fearlessness in dealing with "sensitive" subjects and underscores his courage in refusing to back down for fear of media, corporate, political or religious censorship or disapproval. His year-long campaign in the mid-80s fighting the PMRC and album rating stickers is well documented, particularly in the "Porn Wars" chapter of The Real Frank Zappa Book. His dedication to the cause of artistic liberty is examplified by his testimony before the Maryland State Legislature, which opened with these words: "It is my personal feeling that lyrics cannot harm anyone. There is no sound that you can make with your mouth, or word that will come out of your mouth, that is so powerful that it will make you go to hell."As Ed Sanders’ liner notes for Offended? point out, "It is clear from my decades with the Fugs that there are oodles of humans out there who thirst for the lascivious chants of Have I Offended Someone?... I also know there will be oodles who will listen askance at this gathering of the Zappa legacy." The selections included here are bound to provoke negative reactions from many quarters—potentially offended parties being women, men, gays, jews, catholics, musicians, music business executives, the religious right and the French. It should be noted, however, that Zappa steadfastly defended freedom of speech for 30 years, persistently writing songs about sensitive (but truthful) issues, even in the face of attack and criticism ("rock" and otherwise).Oh yes, about "rock criticism." Zappa never shied away from saying what he really thought about rock critics. His most famous quote on the subject is included in the chapter entitled "Sticks & Stones" in The Real Frank Zappa Book; "Definition of rock journalism: People who can’t write, doing interviews with people who can’t think, in order to prepare articles for people who can’t read."

"Solomon Burke, Don't Give Up On Me (2 LPs, 180 Gram White Vinyl)"
180 Gram Limited Edition Analog Virgin Vinyl.
Of all the great male '60s soul singers--a short list that includes Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and James Brown--only Solomon Burke still actively records. More amazing, he's produced his best full-length album with Don't Give Up on Me. It's easy to give some credit to the album's star songwriters, who include Burke fans Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Brian Wilson, and Bob Dylan. But really it's the quality of the songs and Burke himself, one of the most versatile and charismatic singers around, that make this album so special.
The 11 songs range from the lazy, seductive plea of the title track and the gravelly gospel of "Diamond in Your Mind" to the country-soul of "Other Side of the Coin" and the civil-rights-era urgency of "None of Us Are Free." Joe Henry's production is suitably subdued, and the instrumentation--generally guitar, bass, drums, organ, and piano--is sympathetic throughout. And if you doubt that Burke is the real star in a room crowded with those folks, consider this: the two slightest tracks here were written by Wilson and Costello, while one of the best, the album-closing "Sit This One Out," was written by someone named Pick Purnell.
A great album not fixed in the past or fully of this decade, Don't Give Up is a crowning achievement of an R&B pioneer who has returned to reclaim his self-bestowed title from the '60s: "The King of Rock and Soul."
It is easy to give credit to the album's star songwriters, who include Burke fans Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Brian Wilson, and Bob Dylan. But really it's the quality of the songs and Burke himself, one of the most versatile and charismatic singers around, that make this album so special.

"O'Blues Where Art Thou - Varioius Artists"
O' BLUES WHERE ART THOU? - VARIOUS ARTISTS - LAST COPY - 180 Gram very LONG OUT OF PRINT Limited Edition classic analog LP high-definition Virgin Vinyl pressing for superior fidelity.
MASTERED & compiled BY STEVE HOFFMAN
In the years folowing world war II, the major record companies went back into full production. Styles & tastes were changing, & these companies were rushing out product to meet the demands of "Middle America". Unfornately, these companies often neglected the tastes of other Americans, especially blacks & rural whites. this void helped open the door for a number of independent labels.
In 1947, a young New York jazz enthusiat, named Bob Shad, left his job as A&R man for the National and form Castle Record Company. Within a year, this company would be issuing records on its "Sittin' In With" Label.
These 1st releases were skillfully produced, & featured the music that he knew best, jazz. Fortunately for the blues world, Shad had become close friends with Joe Bilhari, of Modern Records, a leading blues and R&B label. Joe Bihari was one of the foremost blues producers in the world, and together they traveled through the south, where Modern was selling thousands of records. This was a learning experience for Shad, and he returned to New York and prepared to record some of the local blues artists, including Brownie Mcghee and Wilbert "Big Chief" Ellis.
These first efforts were done with the same perfection as the jazz releases. Joe Bihari suggested a trip to the south, where he could record local talent in Southern recording studios or radio stations. Shad decides to make the trip, but rather than go into studios, which were often poorly equipped or very expensive, he purchased a portable Magnecord tape recorder for recordingin the field. By early 1950, the company was turning out hits by southern artists that are apart of this collection. Fortunately, the tapes were preserved and are now being presented to a new generation of blues enthusiasts.

Of all of Grant Green's late-period performances, LIVE AT THE LIGHTHOUSE was arguably the most magical. By 1972 Green was deep into his final funky period of performing extended James Brown-inflected pop material. Here, at the most famous of West Coast jazz venues, the music exploded off the stage for an appreciative audience. Backed by a large group that included Wilton Felder on electric bass, the burning saxophonist Claude Bartee, and female percussionist Bobbye Hall, Green was on fire, ripping out one blistering solo after another.
In his opening remarks, emcee Hank Stewart announces that they are there to "create love through the medium of music." This is a prophetic statement, as Green was clearly a master of expression through his instrument. Though he was often criticized for performing less-than-traditional material, Grant Green transcended style, producing highly musical performances out of works like the pop song "Betcha By Golly Wow." Also included are Donald Byrd's flowing "Fancy Free" and the fiery epic "Jan Jan." Next to being there on that magical occasion, this disc fully realizes for the listener Green performing at his best, even at a time when it seemed his best glory was behind him.

GRANT GREEN STREET FUNK & JAZZ GROOVES ( THE BEST OF )
Blue Note 10 tracks (71:21)
Green was born on June 6, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri. He first performed in
a professional setting at the age of 13. His early influences were Charlie
Christian and Charlie Parker; however, he played extensive R & B gigs in his
home town and in East Saint Louis, IL while developing his jazz chops. His
first recordings in St. Louis were with tenor saxophonist Jimmy Forrest for
the Delmark label. Lou Donaldson discovered green playing in a bar in St.
Louis. After touring together with Donaldson, Green arrived in New York
around 1959-60. In a Down Beat interview from the early 60's, Green said
"The first thing I learned to play was boogie-woogie. Then I had to do a lot
of rock and roll. It's all blues, anyhow."
Lou Donaldson introduced Green to Alfred Lion of Blue Note Records. Lion was
so impressed that, rather than testing Green as a sideman, as was the usual
Blue Note practice, he arranged for him to record as a bandleader first.
This recording relationship was to last, with a few exceptions, throughout
the 'sixties. From 1961 to 1965 Green made more Blue Note LPs as leader and
sideman than anyone else. Green was named best new star in the Down Beat
critics' poll, 1962. As a result, his influence spread wider than New York.
Green's first session as a leader did not meet the approval of Lion and was
shelved, not to be released until 2002 as First Session. Green's first
issued album as a leader was Grant's First Stand. This was followed in the
same year by two more Blue Note releases: Green Street and Grantstand. He
often provided support to many of other great musicians on Blue Note.
