The Beatles: George Harrison (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, violin, organ, bass, tambourine, firebell); John Lennon (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, harmonica, saxophone, piano, organ, harmonium, bass, 6-string bass, maracas, tambourine, tape loops); Paul McCartney (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, flute, flugelhorn, piano, Hammond organ, bass, drums, bongos, timpani, percussion); Ringo Starr (vocals, piano, drums, bongos, maracas, castanets, tambourine).
Additional personnel includes: Yoko Ono (vocals); Eric Clapton (electric guitar); Mal Evans (trumpet, tambourine); George Martin (piano, harmonium); Chris Thomas (harpsichord, Mellotron); Maureen Starkey, Patti Harrison (background vocals).
Recorded at Abbey Road Studios and Trident Studios, London, England between May and October 1968.
THE BEATLES (generally known as "The White Album" because of its cover) was a sprawling two-record set, highlighting the distinct personalities in the group as they matured and moved further away from each other. With the four Beatles playing like session men on each other's songs, the making of the album was fraught with tension. John Lennon's songs included a bitter take on people who read too much into the Beatles' lyrics ("Glass Onion"), reflections on loneliness and alienation ("Yer Blues," "I'm So Tired"), and the avant garde sound collage "Revolution 9."
George Harrison's songs offered black humor ("Piggies") and tender sadness ("While My Guitar Gently Weeps," with Eric Clapton on guitar). Paul McCartney provided both light, lyric songs ("Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da," "Honey Pie"), and rockers ("Back In The U.S.S.R.," the explosive "Helter Skelter"). Ringo Starr made his solo songwriting debut with the goofy country/ska lilt of "Don't Pass Me By" and sang the album closer "Good Night."

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London, England between July 1975 and January 1976.
The maiden voyage of the Alan Parsons Project, 1976's TALES OF MYSTERY & IMAGINATION, finds Parsons paying homage to the thrilling work of suspense legend Edgar Allan Poe. Although such an ambitious undertaking would likely be a disaster for most debuting artists, Parsons had engineered albums by the Beatles and Pink Floyd, making the British musician more than familiar with adventurous, highly textured records.
TALES opens with no less than film legend Orson Welles providing narration over Parsons's mesmerizing melody for "A Dream Within a Dream," while "The Raven" and "(The System of) Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether" prove to be the most pop-oriented tracks on the album, employing electronically treated vocals and prog-rock pomp and circumstance to convey the arch strangeness of these stories. Much of TALES consists of keyboard-driven instrumentals that capture the suspenseful nature of Poe's work, most notably the haunting "Intermezzo" and the spine-chilling "Fall," both part of the "Fall of the House of Usher" suite. To listen to TALES OF MYSTERY & IMAGINATION is to hear a young artist challenging himself from his creative outset and crafting an intriguing set of songs in the process.

Additional personnel: John Alldis Choir (background vocals).
Recording information: EMI Studios, London, England; Abbey Road Studios, London, England.
When rock operas by the Kinks and the Who were relatively new and Deep Purple was working with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Pink Floyd entered the '70s with ATOM HEART MOTHER, a symphonic endeavor whose centerpieces are two long compositions divided up into movements. Starting out as a chord sequence written by Dave Gilmour, the title track became a sprawling masterpiece co-written and arranged by Scottish composer Ron Geesin. Throughout 20 minutes of movements titled "Breast Milky," "Funky Dung," and "Mind Your Throat Please," grandiose brass sections bubble over, otherworldly choruses strike a chord of impending doom, and individual Floyd contributions pop up amid all the orchestration.
The other sprawling piece, "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast," starts out with the sounds of someone puttering about in his home and occasionally muttering to himself, broken up by either the swirling keyboards of Richard Wright or the dulcet tones of David Gilmour's acoustic guitar. The remaining three tracks are Roger Waters' folkie ballad "If," the baroque psychedelic pop of Wright's "Summer '68," and Gilmour's "Fat Old Sun." ATOM HEART MOTHER is one of the band's more overtly experimental and challenging works; yet it remains a secret favorite of die-hard fans.
Editorial reviews
4 Stars - Excellent - ...criminally underrated--the long title suite, benefitting from Ron Geesin's crazed but accomplished musical wit, is among their best work...

"Alan Parsons, Eye In The Sky 180 Gram LP"
THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT – EYE IN THE SKY
180 Gram Sealed LP
EYE IN THE SKY
Worth it for the opening cut alone. Remember the Chicago Bulls in Jordan's heyday? They'd introduce the Bulls with the lights turned out (back before every team did that) and this song, "Sirius," blaring. Even if you weren't a fan, you couldn't help but have goose bumps. But you've never heard that tune sound like this!
Alan Parsons, who first took up an apprenticeship as a sound engineer at EMI and was later responsible for several Paul McCartney productions and the Pink Floyd album Dark Side of the Moon at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, drew upon his experience in order to further his solo career. While the co-producer Eric Woolfson wrote the songs, Parsons – who had an uncanny feeling for sound – conjured up a lush mélange of synthetic and natural sounds.

The Simply Vinyl Silver Collection is currently the only way a collector can identify if these U.K. Abbey Road Studio pressings are Out of Print First Generation copies of some of the finest heavy vinyl masterpieces ever made.
Mymusicfix has an exclusive list of these Silver Edition titles you will not find at any Audiophile Vinyl Dealer anywhere (Silver Collection refers to the marketing sticker attached on the front and back of the sealed product - not the Second Generation and beyond Gold Stickers).
His guitar-slinging contributions to the Yardbirds having dwarfed those of Eric Clapton or Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck spent the next several years playing blues-rock (the Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart), soul-rock (the second edition of that band), and leading a power trio. Then, he made this all-instrumental album, which was a huge 1975 success.
BLOW BY BLOW - Produced by George Martin, the nine-song session finds Beck fronting a keyboards-bass-drums outfit, augmented by some tastefully unobtrusive string arrangements. Call it a jazz-fusion album at your own risk. While Beck's playing is less in-your-face than his previous efforts, all the fierce attack, thick tone, microtonal bends, distortion, feedback, vibrato, sustain, sonic hoodoo, and rhythmic and harmonic creativity that the man's fans have come to know and love can be heard here. "Freeway Jam" boasts the most memorable melody and thus remains a Classic Rock staple to this day. "Cause We've Ended As Lovers"--written by Stevie Wonder--is Beck's gorgeous tribute to one of his own guitar-heroes, the now-deceased Roy Buchanan.
Selections:
1. You Know What I Mean
2. She's A Woman
3. Constipated Duck
4. Air Blower
5. Scatterbrain

BECK-OLA
If the Jeff Beck Group's 1968 debut, "Truth" is the blueprint for Led Zeppelin's debut as well as much of what we might call hard rock or metal through the '70s (Van Halen, etc) and beyond, "Beck-Ola," the 1969 followup is savage, malevelont, and chaotic, albeit less accessable. Certainly the more calculating Jimmy Page never put out anything quite so raw, in every sense of the word. The edgy quality makes it no surprise that the amazing lineup - Beck, Ron Wood, Rod Stewart, Nicky Hopkins, and in place of Mick Waller, drummer Tony Newman - broke up three months after its completion.
Beck has switched to a '54 Stratocaster, and "Beck-Ola" suggests Led Zeppelin having a showdown with the Stooges circa "Funhouse." Wood and Stewart wrote most of the material, and it is here that Stewart's songwriting voice (his humor especially) is first evident (check "Spanish Boots").
In the same vein as TRUTH, albeit minus quieter moments like "Ol' Man River", "Morning Dew" and "Greensleeves", BECK-OLA is a rip-roaring, nearly perfect hard rock follow up. Once again, Stewart's signature vocal style steals much of the show, as he is simply amazing on every track in which he appears.
Energetic covers of "All Shook Up" and "Jailhouse Rock" (the latter with some particularly superb piano) stand alongside some of Beck's finest original hard rockers "Spanish Boots" and "Plynth", with riffs that would have made Zeppelin proud.
The ever-present Zep connection continues with the epic closing cut "Rice Pudding", anchored by its larger-than-life riff and multi-layered, shifting guitar solos (especially the soaring slide segment). BECK-OLA was to be his last consistent work for six years, until the arrival of the very different BLOW BY BLOW. This album is highly recommended to fans of Beck, Stewart, the early metal/Zep sound and hard rock in general.

EMOTION & COMMOTION - The guitar virtuoso returns with his first album of new material in seven years featuring guest vocalists Joss Stone, Imelda May and Olivia Save.
With his performance at the 2010 Grammy Awards ceremonies, one of the few British winners on a night dominated by Americans, Beck underlined his legendary status as one of the most revered musicians in the world and performed Les Paul’s How High The Moon with Irish singer Imelda May. Beck is one of the UK’s true music heroes, a visionary musician and guitar god admired by everyone from Eric Clapton to Morrissey.
"Making this record took me back to the feeling I had making Blow By Blow." - Jeff Beck
"...both collaborations with British soul singer Joss Stone catch fire, and "Lilac Wine" with Imelda May is as memorable as Jeff Buckley's version... The sonics are full, with rich textures, as befits so much variety and color." - Jeff Wilson, The Absolute Sound, June/July 2010 issue, pg. 126.

LIVE AT RONNIE SCOTT'S - DOUBLE LP SET - Jeff Beck is a true rock legend. From his time with the Yardbirds in the sixties, through the Jeff Beck Group and throughout his solo career his unique guitar style and constant desire to explore new musical areas and sounds has won him the admiration of his peers and the adoration of legions of fans. In 2007 Jeff Beck performed a series of concerts at the renowned Ronnie Scott’s club in London. They became the must have ticket of the year with a packed audience every night of the famous and the fans. PLUS THE BONUS OF DONOVAN & THE JEFF BECK GROUP BARABAJAGAL - 140 GRAM U.S. PRESSING -
Aside from the obvious mainstream track ("Atlantis"), this record is solid, and represents, in my mind, what Donovan should have done his entire career. The collaborations between himself and the Jeff Beck group are brilliant rockers, and are sure to get stuck in your head
"Trudi," "Pamela Jo," and "Barabajagal" are all sing-along worthy, "To Susan on the West Coast Waiting" is a slower number you really have to "listen" to understand and appreciate.
“Superlungs, my Supergirl" is superb for rocking out to, with its subtle, yet striking horn section. "The Love Song," "I Love my Shirt," and the rest of the tracks (save for "Where is She") are Donovan.

Classic Records has proven to be an Audiophile Company second to none in the new millennium. But Classic Records, unlike other top Audiophile Companies, does not place Limited Edition numbers on their LP jackets.
5 years ago, Classic Records changed their vinyl weight from 180 gram to 200 gram. Mymusicfix knows no expert that has been able to decipher a true difference in quality with this 20 gram weight increase.
IN FACT MOST COLLECTORS BELEIVE THESE 180 GRAM PRESSINGS WERE CLASSIC RECORDS FINEST HOUR.
This Genesis A NURSERY CRYME Pressing has been critically acclaimed as the quietest and finest ever produced of this recording. It is a new listening experience that will virtually feel as if you were in the studio with them.
Enter Phil Collins and Steve Hackett for a set that elipsed its predecessor (seventies TRESPASS) in technical ability. The 10-minute opener "The Music Box" benefiting from jazz influenced playing was a far cry from the delicate folk rock tapestries and chiming 12-string guitars of its predecessor. The infusion of a semi-classical structural sensibility had become more prevelant. Fragile ballads are at a minimum replaced by driving classic rock epics full with heavy guitar, baselines, and sweeping mellotrone. The sound occasionally recalls the refined but uncompromising instrumental attack of the Nice (particularly in Tony Banks/Keith Emerson-ish blast of organ bravura).
The interlocking guitar and folky moments are still present, however, providing contrast to NURSERY CRYME's bolder moments. The group's sophisticated compositional style and Peter Gabriel's eccenric lyrics are at their height on "The Return Of The Giant Hogweed", "The Fountain Of Slamacis" and "The Music Box
SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND - Released in 1973 (the same year as their Live set) Genesis was by now one of the fastest rising groups on the pop scene. The band's blend of classical instinct, theatrical presentation and whimsical, complex and daring arrangements put them in the same class as Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and Jethro Tull as leaders of the British Progressive Rock era. Back in the studio where they could continue to experiment, the resulting Selling England By The Pound is considered (by some) equal to their masterpiece Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Truly a group effort and a great album of the 70s! In shades of things to come, drummer Phil Collins makes his vocal debut here on "More Fool Me".

LIVE - From very early on, Genesis was intensely interested in the staging of live shows. This wasn’t just a concert, and this isn’t just a live album. It is filled with moments of power (the closing section of “Musical Box”) -- not so subtle political commentary (“Get ‘Em Out By Friday”) and even humor when a bass string is errantly sounded between songs and Peter Gabriel announces “That was an unaccompanied bass solo by Michael Rutherford.” It is a perfect representation of a group of brilliant young men who took their music very seriously, but never themselves. This recording shows them in their elemental form.
Other included tracks are: The Return Of The Giant Hogweed -The Knife – Watcher Of The Skies.

PHIL COLLINS - HELLO I MUST BE GOING - If you are considering divorcing a rock star, let HELLO, I MUST BE GOING serve as warning of what you’re likely to face once the papers have been signed and the settlements agreed upon. Collins got the last word on his relationship with first wife, Jill (he actually addresses her by name on the album), and managed to deliver it to millions of homes via this album.
Tracks include - I Don’t Care Anymore - I Cannot Believe It’s True - Do You Know, Do You Care? - It Don’t Matter To Me - Like China - Thru These Walls - Don’t Let Him Steal Your Heart Away - West Side - Why Can’t It Wait Till Morning - and a lively remake of The Supremes, You Can’t Hurry Love.
MIKE RUTHERFORD & THE MECHANICS - THE LIVING YEARS
Paul Young, one of the two lead singers for MIKE & THE MECHANICS, unexpectedly passed away in 2000 from a heart attack at the age of 53. He was a brilliant singer, with a full, rich, powerful voice, as well as an amazing performer. Besides Paul Young’s amazing vocal work throughout (and Paul Carrack’s too, of course), what strikes the listener about LIVING YEARS is how wonderfully crafted each and every song is. Whether rockers, ballads, or mid-tempo stuff, Mike Rutherford (of Genesis) and the boys have made a pop-rock album that simply glows.
The album immediately gets your attention with the striking “Nobody’s Perfect,”: sung marvelously by Paul Young. This is followed by the classic title song, sung beautifully by Paul Carrack, about losing someone you love before telling them everything you wanted to say to them. “Seeing Is Believing” is very catchy and is another great vocal showcase for Paul Young, “Nobody Knows” perfectly captures the mood of reminiscing over someone you’ve let go in a relationship, and “Poor boy down” is a strong punchy tune that again allows Paul Young to strut his stuff at the mike. The band goes into rocker-overdrive with the powerful “Blame”, showcasing Mike Rutherford’s furious attack on the guitar during the bridge.

Their first-ever album, raw and rough and still very rock & roll. Lennon and McCartney begin to flex their writing muscles and had already scored two UK hits when this appeared, but they still relied heavily on the cover material to see them through. They were an unknown quantity, still to launch a million bands and take pop music to places it had never dreamed off. Just the beginning!!

They still had plenty of covers to fill out the running time, but the Lennon-McCartney writing team was gathering steam and beginning to knock out pop classics as if they were pulling them out of thin air. "All My Loving" and "I Wanna Be your Man" come from this record, issued hurriedly to capitalize on English Beatlemania. But even when they were laying into some classic Chuck Berry, by this time the Beatles had acquired a unique sound in the blend of John's and Paul's voices, while George was coming on by leaps and bounds as a guitar player.
HELP -
HELP -- How John Lennon's confessional song became the title for a silly James Bond spoof I really don't know. The funny thing is, it works both ways--as a young man's personal statement about learning to open up to others, and as the frantic theme for an exotic espionage chase comedy starring those lovable mop-tops (this time in color). Like A Hard Day's Night, only the first "side" of this album actually contains songs from the movie--the biggest hits being the eponymous cry for assistance and "Ticket to Ride." But part 2 has a few nice tunes as well, like "It's Only Love," "I've Just Seen a Face," and a little ditty called "Yesterday." And I always love it when they do an all-out screamer like "Dizzy Miss Lizzy," which sounds like John's raucous answer to Paul's "Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey" vocal on Beatles for Sale. Of course, it's essential--as are all the Beatles' soundtracks (all the Beatles' albums).

10. Things We Said Today
11. When I Get Home
12. You Can't Do That
13. I'll Be Back
That dramatic guitar chord that kicks of A Hard Day's Night (album, song, movie) still jumps right out at you, slaps you in the face, and jump-starts your heart. And you know what? Both the music and the film are still as crisp and lively as they were in 1964. Of course, only the first seven songs are actually in the movie (and they are the strongest of the bunch, from the rousing rock & roll of the title track and the hit single "Can't Buy Me Love," to the beautiful ballads "If I Fell" and "And I Love Her"). But nobody's going to complain about having songs like "I'll Cry Instead" and "Things We Said Today" in the second half of the record; they sure don't feel like leftovers. Yet another high-point for John, Paul, George, and Ringo who hit the highest heights imaginable
RUBBER SOUL -
RUBBER SOUL – . Rank them how you like, RUBBER SOUL is an undeniable pivotal point in the Fab Four’s varied discography no matter where, or how, you first heard it. The 14-song U.K. Edition - the version now available in this Limited Edition has so many classics: “Drive My Car” and “Nowhere Man” (both omitted from the U.S. edition). The transition from mop-tops to experimenting musicians began with RUBBER SOUL! John wrote one of his most sensible love songs with “In My Life”. “The Word” can be read as a pre-psych warning shot; the sitar-laden “Norwegian Wood” and the evocative “Girl” (written the last night of the sessions) stand as turning points in John Lennon’s work. George also emerges with the McGinnis “If I Needed Someone.” One of the greatest Albums of all time. Other tracks include: Drive My Car – You Won’t See Me - Nowhere Man - Think For Yourself - Michelle - What Goes On - Girl - I’m Looking Through You - In My Life - Wait - If I Needed Someone - Run For Your Life.

REVOLVER -
REVOLVER wouldn't remain the Beatles' most ambitious LP for long, but many fans remember it as their best. An object lesson in fitting great songwriting into experimental production and genre play, this is also a record whose influence extends far beyond mere they-was-the-greatest cheerleading. Putting McCartney's more traditionally melodic "Here, There and Everywhere" and "For No One" alongside Lennon's direct-hit sneering ("Dr. Robert") and dreamscapes ("I'm Only Sleeping," "Tomorrow Never Knows") and Harrison's peaking wit ("Taxman") was as conceptually brilliant as anything Sgt. Pepper attempted, and more subtly fulfilling. A must.

SGT. PEPPERS -
SGT. PEPPER’S - THE BEATLES – SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEART’S CLUB BAND – U.K. PRESSING – SEALED . This album has been direct-metal-mastered from a digitally re-mastered original tape to give the best possible sound quality. Mymusicfix has listened to it – AND IT SOUNDS GREAT!! Before The Beatles released SGT. PEPPER’S, both John Lennon and Paul McCartney were blown away by the Beach Boys recent release of PET SOUNDS and were inspired to transform rock music into an actual art. In 1967 spanning 129 days (perhaps the most creative 129 days in the history of rock music), this crowning achievement of The Beatles and George Martin --especially considering they were working only with 4-track tape machines-- created an undeniable work of art which remains after 30+ years one of the most influential albums of all-time. From John Lennon’s evocative word/sound pictures (the trippy LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS, the carnival-like BEING FOR THE BENEFIT OF MR. KITE) and Paul McCartney’s musical hall style WHEN I’M 64 to George Harrison’s Eastern leanings WITHIN WITHOUT YOU to Ringo’s A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS and the avante-garde mini-suite A DAY IN THE LIFE, SGT PEPPER’S was a milestone for both the sixties and pop culture

THE WHITE LP (2LP SET) -
The WHITE ALBUM was meant to be the record that brought them back to earth after three years of studio experimentation. Instead, it took them all over the place, continuing to burst the envelope of pop music. Lennon and McCartney were still at the height of their powers, with Lennon and McCartney growing into rock's towering figures. From Beach Boys knock-offs to reggae and to the unknown ("Revolution #9"), this has it all. Some records have legend written all over them; this is one.

The album feels even more like a collection of singles (instead of an actual movie soundtrack) than Help! or A Hard Day's Night, but maybe that's because every song sounds like it could have been a hit single. " Even George's "Blue Jay Way" paints a vivid sound-portrait in fascinating detail. Consider Joni Mitchell's "Car on the Hill" from Court and Spark to be a companion piece about sitting in the Hollywood Hills, waiting for somebody to show up.
This album features the two 45 rpm masterpieces that sum up the quintessential best of Lennon and McCartney at this stage of their development: Paul's "Penny Lane" and John's "I Am the Walrus."
LET IT BE -
LET IT BE often gets a bad rap. Unfairly, as it's often as charming, well written, and rocking as the Beatles' "better" albums; it's also more outright fun than Abbey Road, the masterpiece it followed into the stores. ABBEY ROAD -
The Beatles last days as a band were as productive as any major phenomenon that was about to split up. After recording LET IT BE LP, the group held on for this ambitious effort - an album that was to become their best seller.
On Side One, all four Beatles contribute with John Lennon’s hard rocking COME TOGETHER and I WANT YOU SO; George Harrison’s SOMETHING; Ringo’s OCTOPUS’S GARDEN and Paul McCartney’s MAXWELL SILVER HAMMER and OH DARLING complete this first side. A series of long fragments edited together in a sweet form dominates
Side Two. Songs like George Harrison’s HERE COMES THE SUN, BECAUSE, SUN KING, MEAN MR. MUSTARD, POLYTHENE PAM, CAME THROUGH THE BATHROOM WINDOW, NEVER GIVE ME YOUR MONEY, GOLDEN SLUMBERS, and the fitting end to The Beatles last cut forever - THE END have a way of taking you in, up and out. You can feel your energy level rise as you listen to these songs and when you hit the crescendo, they take you down gently. ABBEY ROAD has to be one of the great classic rock albums of all-times. This is one album that Beatles fans will want to add to their album collection as it shows what a force The Beatles were in rock and roll.

"The Beatles, Anthology II (3 LPs) - EuroSealed"
BEATLES ANTHOLOGY II – 3-LPs - 45-Tracks - Euro Sealed LP. These U.K pressings are sent with the vinyl outside of the jackets when being shipped to the U.S. to protect the covers from damage. Once inside the our wherehouse we then protectively seal the title in a loose re-sealable plastic cover to ensure the quality of the product. This title is brand new & never played condition.
128 Minutes in length and long out of print.
If you have gone out and purchased the new Beatles DVD set there is a new (never available 81 minute bonus DVD) with Paul, George, Ringo and George Martin talking about the importance of these anthology CD/LP collections. When you listen to them on that DVD you will understand the importance/history these Beatles and their engineer put to these anthology collections and why you should collect them.
There a must for any true collector. It's so rare that on some of these tracks "The Beatles" themselves had a hard time remembering who was participating on some of these masters tracks. These Anthology 3 LP sets (One, Two and Three) are long out of print and are becoming rarer and more valuable day by day especially in these LP pressings. Enjoy being one of the last people in the world to own this rare piece of The Beatles history on vinyl.
The second in the series of Rare unreleased Beatles recordings covers the group’s famed middle period featuring George Harrison’s classic track 11 out-take of TAXMAN. "TAXMAN", the opening title on REVOLVER was Harrison’s acerbic and witty view of the inescapable realities of life. Track 12 was the Master Recording – this being a reduction or bounce of Track 11. (These are terms for a recording process taken up by The Beatles around this time, where, by merging two or more existing tracks of a tape while copying it across to a second tape, vacant tracks are created allowing for further overdubbing.
Abbey Road was still using 4-Track Recording Machines in 1966 so this process was often necessary.) Issued here for the first time on Vinyl is that Track 11 not dis-similar to the Master but with some notable differences, principally in the clean full ending (instead of the repeated guitar solo) and the “anybody got a bit of money?” backing vocals (instead of the Mr. Wilson Mr. Heath reference).
George Harrison penned ONLY A NORTHERN SONG. Although not issued on disc until YELLOW SUBMARINE soundtrack Album in January of 1969, Harrison’s ONLY A NORTHERN SONG was written and first intended for SGT. PEPPER, its place in the recording chronology coming between other PEPPER tracks, FIXING A HOLE and BEING FOR THE BENEFIT OF MR. KITE. The Master of ONLY A NORTHERN SONG combined Track 3 (with overdubs) and a “reduction” of this Track 11 (with further overdub), simultaneously mixed into Mono. The mixes presented here in Stereo and slightly sped up, is Track 3 the basic track from February 13th, 1967 with bass and guitar added on April 20th with unissued vocal tracks (yielding a number of lyric vibrations from the Master) overdub onto a separate “reduction”, Track 12, flown in.
The last Harrison penned track within ANTHOLOGY 2 is the Master of George Harrison’s composition that opened Side 2 of SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, presented here in a fashion not previously available on Vinyl remixed, without George’s vocal from the different original 4-track tapes that formed that Master. WITHIN YOU WITHOUT YOU (instrumental) what remains, audible to the fore is a combination of tamboura, tabla, dilruba and swaramandal tracks recorded in March with violins, cellos, and George’s sitar track overdubbed on April 3, 1967.
ANTHOLOGY 2 features out-takes, demos and alternate versions of songs from the albums, HELP, RUBBER SOUL, REVOLVER, SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, and MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR. There are also three previously unreleased Beatles Songs from 1965, several live cuts and the second of The Beatles new recordings, “Real Love”, which began as a late seventies demo and completed in 1995 by George Harrison, Paul Mc Cartney and Ringo Starr.

Even as the Beatles began heading toward an inevitable breakup, their prolific ways continued; this two-disc look back only skims the surface of their later achievements. Excerpts from Sgt. Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, the white album, Abbey Road, and Let It Be compete for space with classic singles that do as much or more to prove their eclecticism: the epic ballad "Hey Jude," the plaintive "Strawberry Fields Forever," straight rock & roll of all stripes from the plainspoken "Revolution" and "Get Back" to the surreal "Come Together." Decades after the split, this (and its companion set of 1962-1966 cuts) remains a favored introduction for young listeners and a key sampler for veteran fans.

"The Beatles, Anthology 3 (3 LPs)"
Limited Edition Analog Virgin Vinyl. The Beatles Anthology 3 promises to be the most interesting and appealing of the series. It covers the period from May 1968 with some great early demos recorded at George Harrison's home, through studio outtakes of the White Album, Let It Be, and their final album Abbey Road. Also included are a number of previously unreleased Beatles songs including Paul's demo for Badfinger of Come and Get It, John's experimental What's The New Mary Jane, and George's early demo of All Things Must Pass. Furthermore, look for a great alternative, bluesier version of Helter Skelter, an incredible acoustic version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, an early take of Cry Baby Cry, and Ringo's first performance of Good Night with George Martin playing piano.

Love is an unprecedented approach to the Beatles' catalog, featuring wildly alternative mixes and "mash-ups," the combining of two or more Beatles tunes mixed together for a wholly unique song.
The project came about when Paul and Ringo, along with Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison, approached legendary producer Sir George Martin about making experimental mixes from their master tapes. Actually, Martin says that the concept was born several years before when George Harrison and Guy Laliberte, the founder of Cirque du Soleil, began to explore the possibilities of a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and the Beatles. Out of that vision, Love was born. Martin and his son, Giles, have created a completely unique soundscape. Says Martin: "My brief was to create a soundscape of around one and a half hour's length using any sound I needed from the original Beatles multi-track recordings. It was an offer one could hardly refuse."
Opinions will no doubt vary as to the validity of these new mixes. Purists may be offended. Those thirsting for new Beatles material may be thrilled. One thing's for certain: Love will be among the most talked about releases in many years.
"This album puts the Beatles back together again, because suddenly there's John and George with me and Ringo," said Paul McCartney. "It's kind of magical."

The Beatles: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison.
Given his unparalleled talent for innovative recording, mixing, and soundscaping, producer Sir George Martin has always been rightly referred to as "the fifth Beatle." Some 35 years after the Beatles disbanded, Martin was still shaping the group's music, as demonstrated by the 2006 release LOVE. The album (created to coincide with a Cirque du Soleil performance based on Beatles songs) amounts to a musical fantasia centered on the Beatles' output, with famous work from both early and late in the band's career collaged with great care and artistry.
Martin's relationship to the band gives him a unique perspective (not to mention access to a vast catalogue of multi-track tapes), which results in a shape-shifting overview that encompasses demo recordings, instrumental passages, and snippets from some of the best-loved Beatles tunes. Beatles fanatics will be in seventh heaven playing "name that reference" on this sonic carpet ride, but LOVE also provides something of an "overture" to the Beatles' oeuvre. The SPECIAL EDITION comes with a bonus audio-only DVD featuring the album in various stereo mixes.

MAKING MOVIES - On Making Movies, the cinematic quality of these sometimes silly but generally engaging story songs is consistently overwhelmed by its own score, a soundtrack of thundering drums, cascading piano, perpetual-motion grooves, and the clipped lead guitar lines of frontman Mark Knopfler. On "Skateaway," that sound is so engaging and catchy that it makes up for the song's slight lyric (about a girl who roller-skates in traffic), but when Knopfler provides tales that are up to the fanfare, this album is a thing of real beauty. "Romeo and Juliet" is especially strong, since it combines all the pomp with a sweet declaration of love that's downright humble

So enjoy being one of the last people in the world to get your butt up and flip a side of vinyl. It’s the purest form of listening pleasure , not to mention the artistic value of owning a 12” cover of art, -- like posters of your favorite artist.
With his first release, TUBULAR BELLS Mike Oldfield created a genre that can best be termed "symphonic folk-rock." Ommadawn, his third album, continued in a similar though somewhat more ambitious and less portentous vein. Including the African percussion group Jabula and Paddy Moloney of the CHIEFTAINS on uilleann pipes, this is Oldfield's most easily palatable release. Oldfield plays almost 20 instruments here. The two instrumental pieces that make up nearly the entire album are similar to ambient music in intent and effect, with an almost constant recycling of themes. The album closes with "On Horseback," a classic piece of English whimsy.

The third album in the trilogy of brilliant Beach Boys albums which started with PET SOUNDS (SVLP149), went on to SMILEY SMILE (SVLP219) and now finishes with the excellent WILD HONEY (No.7 UK, No.24 US 68).
This album once again shows off Brian Wilsons extraordinary talent for song writing and production via both the severely under-rated >Wild Honey> (No.29 UK, No.31 US 67) and the brilliant > Darling > (No.19 US 67, No.11 UK 68). Aside from all the other gems on this album, it also features the original version of > Here Come The Night > which they later re-recorded and released for their venture into the world of disco music. Even though WILD HONEY has often been written off as a back to basics album and was recorded in Brian Wilsons living room, it is still an excellent yardstick of the band?s history in one of their most turbulent periods.
Plus, its still the Beach Boys AND on 180 gram vinyl which makes it a must-have purchase anyway!!
Tracks include: Wild Honey - Aren't You Glad - I Was Made To Love Her - Country Air - A Thing Or Two Darlin' - I'd Love Just Once To See You - Here Comes The Night - Let The Wind Blow - How She Boogalooed It - Mama Says
