BLONDE ON BLONDE, Dylan’s landmark double LP from 1966, is considered by most Dylan-philes as his masterpiece. By blending a rich tapestry of blues, country, folk and rock, BLONDE ON BLONDE is an album of limitless depth filled with lyrical and musical revelations. Recorded in Nashville with Al Kooper and Robbie Robertson, as well as other fabulous session players, the album is filled with cutting guitar riffs and liquid organ fills. Songs like “Rainy Day women #12 & 35”, “Visions of Johanna”, and “Just Like A Woman” are just a few examples of why this album remains as powerful today as it was in 1966.
BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME - Recorded in three short days in January 1965, Bringing It All Back Home found Dylan "going electric" and gaining his first Top 40 airplay with "Subterranean Homesick Blues." This LP Changed Rock Forever.

HWY 61 - Taking the first, electric side of Bringing It All Back Home to its logical conclusion, Bob Dylan hired a full rock & roll band, featuring guitarist Michael Bloomfield, for Highway 61 Revisited. Opening with the epic "Like a Rolling Stone," Highway 61 Revisited careens through nine songs that range from reflective folk-rock and blues to flat-out garage rock. Highway 61 Revisited had not only changed Dylan's sound, but his persona, trading the folk troubadour for a streetwise, cynical hipster. Highway 61 Revisited proved that rock & roll needn't be collegiate and tame in order to be literate, poetic and complex.

"Super Session, Mike Bloomfield / Al Kooper / Stephen Stills - 180 Gram"
Mike Bloomfield - Al Kooper - Steven Stills - SUPER SESSION 180 Gram Limited Edition classic IN IT'S ORIGINAL 1ST EDITION 180 GRAM PRESSING FROM THE ORIGINAL LABEL.
To understand this SUPER SESSION, you must understand that Mike Bloomfield was the premiere guitarist in the United States in the late sixties.
When Eric Clapton and Cream came to the United States, the only person who really impressed them was Mike Bloomfield (who was playing lead guitar for the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.
Al Kooper, who created The Blues Project and established Blood, Sweat & Tears with their debut album,CHILD IS FATHER TO THE MAN, and also was the main contributer to Bob Dylan’s classic album, BLONDE ON BLONDE and was one of the best producers in the business.
Steven Stills was inbetween playing with The Buffalo Sprinfield and was just in the evolution of starting Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. SUPER SESSION has Mike Bloomfield ripping on his Gibson guitar laying down some of the most instrumentals you have ever heard with Al Kooper. On the second side with Al Kooper, Steven Stills does an eleven-minute rendition of “Season Of The Witch” which will blow you away.
As the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) had done a year earlier, Super Session (1968) initially ushered in several new phases in rock & roll's concurrent transformation. In the space of mere months, the soundscape of rock shifted radically from two- and three-minute danceable pop songs to comparatively longer works with more attention to technical and musical subtleties. Enter the unlikely all-star triumvirate of Al Kooper (piano/organ/ondioline/vocals/guitars), Mike Bloomfield (guitar), and Stephen Stills (guitar) — all of whom were concurrently "on hiatus" from their most recent engagements. Kooper had just split after masterminding the definitive and groundbreaking Child Is Father of the Man (1968) version of Blood, Sweat & Tears. Bloomfield was fresh from a brief stint with the likewise brass-driven Electric Flag, while Stills was late of Buffalo Springfield and still a few weeks away from a more or less full-time commitment to David Crosby and Graham Nash. Although the trio never actually performed together, the long-player was notable for idiosyncratically featuring one side led by the team of Kooper/Bloomfield and the other by Kooper/Stills. The band is ably fleshed out with the powerful rhythm section of Harvey Brooks (bass) and Eddie Hoh (drums) as well as Barry Goldberg (electric piano) on "Albert's Shuffle" and "Stop." The heavy Chicago blues contingency of Bloomfield, Brooks, and Goldberg provide a perfect outlet for the three Kooper/Bloomfield originals — the first of which commences the project with the languid and groovy "Albert's Shuffle." The guitarist's thin tone cascades with empathetic fluidity over the propelling rhythms. Kooper's frisky organ solo alternately bops and scats along as he nudges the melody forward. The same can be said of the funky interpretation of "Stop," which had originally been a minor R&B hit for Howard Tate. Curtis Mayfield's "Man's Temptation" is given a brass-fuelled soulful reading that might have worked equally well as a Blood, Sweat & Tears cover. At over nine minutes in spin time, "His Holy Modal Majesty" is a fun trippy waltz and includes one of the most extended jams on the Kooper/Bloomfield side. The track also features the distinct hurdy-gurdy and Eastern-influenced sound of Kooper's small electric keyboard-manipulated ondioline, which has a slightly atonal and reedy timbre much like that of John Coltrane's tenor sax. Because of some physical health issues, Bloomfield was unable to complete the recording sessions and Kooper contacted Stills. Immediately his decidedly West Coast sound — which alternated from a chiming Rickenbacker intonation to a faux pedal steel — can be heard on the upbeat version of Bob Dylan's "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry." One of the album's highlights is the churning and scintillating cover of "Season of the Witch." There is an undeniable synergy between Kooper and Stills, whose energies seems to aurally drive the other into providing some inspired interaction. Updating the blues standard "You Don't Love Me" allows Stills to sport some heavily amplified and distorted licks, which come off sounding like Jimi Hendrix. This is one of those albums that seems to get better with age and that gets the full reissue treatment every time a new audio format comes out. This is a super session indeed.

Album notes
FLOWERS is a compilation of UK tracks and singles put together by Decca Records (UK) in 1967, including tracks that appeared on the English versions of AFTERMATH and BETWEEN THE BUTTONS.
The Rolling Stones: Mick Jagger (vocals); Brian Jones, Keith Richards (guitar, background vocals); Bill Wyman (bass); Charlie Watts (drums).
Audio Remasterers: Steve Rosenthal; Teri Landi.
This album represents a turning point for the Stones. Though they had not yet fully integrated the baroque aspirations of pop into their music, the flower-power influence had nonetheless begun to take root. While all the earlier elements of their sound are still firmly in place, in the folky "Backstreet Girl" and the relentlessly rocking "Let's Spend The Night Together," new sounds also crop up. Cuts like the woodwind-sweetened ballad "Ruby Tuesday" and the Middle Eastern-tinged "Mother's Little Helper" set the stage for the full-blown head-trip that would unveil itself later that year on THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST.
THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST - JAPAN LONDON RECORDS LAX1011 INMINT MINUS CONDITION - No Stones album split critical opinion as much as their stab at psychedelia. Uncut magazine concluded that although the record has long been derided as the Stones’ misguided attempt to outdo the Beatles, it is, in fact, “a neglected psychedelic masterpiece” and “superior to Sgt. Pepper as a document of that first British summer of love.” It featured their most innovative arrangements, which incorporated African rhythms and full orchestration.

Album notes
The Rolling Stones: Keith Richards (vocals, guitar); Mick Jagger (vocals); Brian Jones (guitar); Bill Wyman (bass); Charlie Watts (drums).
Recorded in 1966.
Once known as hard-core blues/R&B traditionalists, the Stones plunged deeper into the waters of original songwriting on BETWEEN THE BUTTONS, leading to a golden age of classic albums including LET IT BLEED, BEGGAR'S BANQUET and EXILE ON MAIN STREET. BUTTONS was also the last album produced by then-manager/svengali Andrew Loog Oldham. More importantly, the obscure songs on this tight package show the Stones coming into their own as composers.
Between the melodic balladry of "Back Street Girl" and Mick Jagger's Dylanesque inflections on "She Smiled Sweetly," BUTTONS found the Stones in a strata far beyond covering Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly. Although none of these developments ranks with the Beatles' contemporaneous sonic experiments, the Fabs' bad-boy counterparts showed differing degrees of whimsy and sass, i.e. Ian Stewart's barrelhouse piano and Brian Jones' kazoo playing on "Cool, Calm & Collected" or the Dixieland-flavored "Something Happened To Me Yesterday."
AFTEMATH U.K. TRACKS JAPAN LONDON RECORDS LAX 1006 IN NEAR MINT CONDITION - 1966 was a momentous year for albums. Aftermath was right up there with Pet Sounds, Revolver and Blonde On Blonde. The album represented a milestone for the Stones as it was the first to consist solely of Jagger/Richards original songs. It also featured the immaculate guitar work of Brian Jones and the remarkably-wry, observant “Mother’s Little Helper,” with extremely blatant and, for the time, controversial drug references.

"Bob Dylan, No Direction Home- 150 Gram 4 LP Box Set"
BOB DYLAN - NO DIRECTION HOME - HEAVY VINYL 150 LIMITED EDITION
4 LP Box Set includes:
12" x 12" bound 60 PAGE booklet with photos from the show
ART JACKET 2 GATEFOLDS FEATURING ALTERNATE COVER PHOTOS
CUT DIRECT FROM THE ANALOGUE MASTER TAPES
The seventh volume of Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series doubles as the soundtrack to No Direction Home, Martin Scorsese's feature-length documentary covering Dylan's career from its beginnings to 1966 (it was aired in two parts on PBS in September 2005 and released in expanded form on DVD that same month).
Unlike the previous installments of The Bootleg Series, which focused exclusively on live concerts, No Direction Home is assembled from a variety of sources, including home recordings, publishing demos, alternate studio takes and live recordings. In fact, No Direction Home proceeds chronologically, filling in gaps between the proper albums or, more often, providing a parallel history of the most productive era of Dylan's career. This is the first Dylan record to offer an aural biography of Dylan.
This does a superb job of tracing the development of Dylan as a musician, taking him from a young folkie singing standards, through the rush of his early standards, and to the visionary music he made once he went electric.
As usual, this deluxe edition comes from the original mix-down masters and was transferred by Bernie Grundman to lacquer on Classic's all-tube analog cutting system. This deluxe four-LP set includes two alternate cover art gatefold jackets (Blonde on Blonde and Bringing It All Back Home) and a 60+ page 12" x 12" booklet, all housed in a special outer box.
