Britain's POLICE got its start in the late 70s days of punk, but the trio's background in jazz, fusion, and rock belied the punky image suggested by the bands dyed-blond hair. Indeed, where many punks were inspired amateurs, the Police (Sting on bass and vocals, Andy Summers on guitar, and Stewart Copeland on drums) were accomplished players who quickly developed a sophisticated approach to the power-trio format.
The material constructed with guitar, bass and drums often at tempos that would never be matched in their later studio recordings, stands apart. Andy Summers guitar textures are here more traditional and without their later ethereal quality, but his chord choices on ROXANNE for example, or his expansive solo lines on SO LONELY would have baffled most of the burgeoning punk guitar school. Stewart Copelands drumming, enriched as it is by a multinational upbringing and stage experience in the last gasps of the progressive-rock movement. The rhythms of reggae are woven into the music and Sting's vocals pay conscious tribute to Bob Marley. The songs are mostly about love, or a lack of personal connection and the hits alone are worth the price of the album.

DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, originally released in 1973, is one of those albums that is discovered anew by each generation of rock listeners. This complex, often psychedelic music works very wel because PINK FLOYD doesn’t rush anything; the songs are mainly slow and mid-temp, with attention paid throughout to musical texture and mood. The sound effects on songs like ON THE RUN – TIME – and especially MONEY (with sampled sounds of clinking coins and cash registers turned into rhythmic accompaniment) are impressive, especially when we remember that 1973 was before the advent of digital recording techniques. This is probably PINK FLOYD’s best known work. PINK FLOYD were incredibly talented pioneers and innovators who were a ground-breaking act who were many, many years ahead of their time capable of producing the most devastatingly original and brilliant music ever created.
MEDDLE - GATEFOLD COVER -
MEDDLE is one of Pink Floyds peak work with exquisite drumming and persevering guitar of David Gilmour . . The album stays amazing up until the last second of the last song when the album stops .The variation of music in this album really carries the mood of Pink Floyd changing.

A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS - Pink Floyd's second album A Saucerful of Secrets, released in July of 1968. Sadly, A Saucerful of Secrets was hugely ignored in the US but made it to #9 in the UK upon release in 1968.
Sales notwithstanding, the album is a classic!
The album was re-released in Japan in 2001 with packaging that looks like the original EMI vinyl. The remastering was the same as the 1994 EMI remastering but sounds incredible.

OBSCURED BY CLOUDS - Pink Floyd released their eighth album(overall) Obscured by Clouds in June of 1972.
The album was a soundtrack to the French film La Vallee, which was directed by Barbet Schroder.
Obscured by Clouds was the band's second film soundtrack for Schroder, their first was the 1969 movie More and was their fourth overall as they also did songs for the movies The Committee and 1970's Zabriske Point. Obscured by Clouds was the album released before 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon and was the band's first ever US Top 50 disc peaking at a respectable #46 and eventually went Gold(in 1994).
The album was produced by Pink Floyd themselves and was recorded in a week at the Chateau D'herouville(a/k/a the Honky Chateau as Elton John called it) in France in late February of 1972 during a break from touring Europe.
Obscured by Clouds kicks off with the title cut(featuring excellent synth work from both keyboardist Rick Wright and bass player/vocalist Roger Waters and slide guitar from guitarist/vocalist David Gilmour) which then segues into When You're In(with excellent drumming from drummer Nick Mason). Those two tracks were staples of Floyd shows in 1973 on the Dark Side tour. Burning Bridges follows and has a great vocal from Gilmour and Wright and is a great tune. The Gold It's In The... is a hard rocker with some great guitar work from Gilmour. Wots...Uh the Deal follows and is a great song with excellent keyboard work from Wright and great vocals and guitar work from Gilmour. Next is an instrumental version of Burning Bridges entitled Mudmen which is in a different tempo than Burning Bridges.
Side two kicked off with Childhood's End(one of Gilmour's best songs ever). Next is Free Four was Waters' first song mentioning the word run which would appear more dominantly on future Floyd albums, it also talks about war and death for the first time and those subjects would appear more dominantly on The Wall and The Final Cut. Free Four was the first Floyd track which got substantial airplay on American rock radio. Next was Stay, which had an excellent vocal from Wright. The album closes with the atmospheric instrumental entitled Absolutely Curtains which features synthesizer work from Gilmour, Waters and Wright and percussion work from Mason and the New Guinea tribe, from the actual La Vallee film itself, conclude this track.

A COLLECTION OF GREAT DANCE SONGS -
Initially released between studio albums (namely, The Wall and The Final Cut), this best-of collection picks from Pink Floyd’s 1970s material – the era when the band (and they were a band in those days) played sold out stadiums of the world and sold records by the tons. On this album three of the songs are different than the versions everyone knows.
Money was recorded by Floyd guitarist/vocalist David Gilmour except for the sax which was played by Dick Parry. Capitol wouldn’t let Columbia/CBS use Money so Dave recorded the song SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND parts 1,2,4 and 7 and is the version as Floyd first performed it on a French tour in 1974.
Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 is the single mix version but uses the ending from the album version. Other songs include ONE OF THESE DAYS – SHEEP – WISH YOU WHERE HERE.
WISH YOU WERE HERE - RARE U.K. REPLICA LP IN A CD (sealed). Small quantities of this limited pressing w/miniature LP sleeve packaging. This collectors edition includes the original black shrink wrap that covered the 'controversial' artwork release.

DIVISION BELL - GATEFOLD COVER
The Division Bell is a great album and may possibly be the final album from the band. Although David said Floyd was done in 2001, he changed his stance in 2003 saying "Floyd still exists and will return one day but not tomorrow". However if Floyd don't return, this album ends their career with a bang!

Recorded at Park Gates Studios, Battle, Sussex, England and Battery Studios, London, England.
Although many music fans were convinced that Def Leppard would become hard rock's next big band, few could have predicted the massive across-the-boards success that its third record, 1983's PYROMANIA, achieved. Many wondered why it was taking the group so long to release a follow-up to 1981's HIGH 'N' DRY, but the finished product was well worth the wait. Not only did it become one of the year's best-selling albums and made the band instant U.S. arena headliners, but it has remained a consistent seller ever since (by 1994, it had reached nine million units in the U.S. alone).
The songwriting and overall sound was more streamlined and succinct this time around--while there are guitar riffs galore, the songs have more of a pop feel. Founding guitarist Pete Willis left during the recording, replaced by Phil Collen, who fit in perfectly with the band. The album features such mega-hits as "Photograph," "Rock of Ages," and "Foolin'," as well as a couple of other tracks that could have easily been singles as well, "Rock Rock (Till You Drop)" and "Too Late for Love." PYROMANIA remains one of the best and most popular hard-rock recordings of the '80s.

Full title: A White Sport Coat And A Pink Crustacean.
Personnel: Jimmy Buffett (vocals, acoustic guitar); Steve Goodman (acoustic guitar); Reggie Young (electric guitar); Doyle Gresham (pedal steel guitar); Vassar Clements (fiddle); Greg "Fingers" Taylor (harmonica); Mike Utley (piano); Shane Keester (Moog synthesizer); Ed "Lump" Williams (bass); Sammy Creason (drums); Marvin Gardens (maracas); Ferrell Morris (percussion); Don Gant, Buzz Cason, Carol Montgomery, Diane Harris (background vocals).
Recorded at Glaser Sound, Nashville, Tennessee. Includes liner notes by Tom McGuane.
Ultradiscs are mastered from the original master tapes using Mobile Fidelity's proprietary mastering technique, then plated with 24 karat gold and housed in a stress-resistant lift-lock jewel box.
Jimmy Buffett's major label debut (the title takes off from a sappy piece of late '50s teen pop by country singer Marty Robbins) is a bit more folky and laid back than you might expect. There are hints of the rowdier Buffett persona to come, but by and large this is early '70s mellow singer-songwriter stuff, albeit with cleverer than usual lyrics.
Highlights include "Death of an Unpopular Poet," a delicately arranged story song about a poet whose posthumous success leads, literally, to the dogs; "They Don't Dance Like Carmen No More," a nostalgic remembrance of '40s big-fruit wearer Carmen Miranda; and "My Lovely Lady," an enthusiastic paean to a woman who "can eat her own weight in crabmeat." There's also the immortal "Why Don't We Get Drunk," a song whose next line--"and screw"--raised eyebrows in 1973, although post-Eminem it's less likely to do so.

STRONG PERSUADER won a 1988 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Recording.
1986's STRONG PERSUADER was a milestone both for Robert Cray and blues in the '80s. It earned Cray, a veteran of the Pacific Northwest blues scene, both his first solo Grammy and Top 30 hit ("Smoking Gun") along with a lift out of the blues ghetto which he'd been excelling in during recent years. As for the blues themselves, Cray infused fresh blood into a genre that had been limping along in that particular decade.
With a smooth singing style to go with an equally recognizable guitar tone, Cray developed a sound that owed as much to soul stylist O.V. Wright as it did to Texas guitarist Albert Collins (with whom Cray had won a Grammy along with Johnny Copeland the prior year). The use of the Memphis Horns strengthened the soul connection on songs such as the punchy "Nothing But A Woman" and the chugging effervescence of "Guess I Showed Her." Of course, Cray's heart lay in the blues and when he wasn't lamenting the woes of infidelity in "Right Next Door (Because Of Me)" and a bad break-up in "Still Around," his guitar playing smoldered throughout the forlorn "New Blood."

Four years after becoming an uninvited guest at the party that is the music industry with its seminal debut, APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION, Guns N' Roses released USE YOUR ILLUSION I & II. Thanks to a reckless approach toward life and music, G N' R was constantly at the center of controversy and the result was that much of it was chronicled on this two-volume project. By this time, original drummer Steven Adler had been dismissed due to alleged drug dependency problems and was replaced by the Cult's Matt Sorum. Keyboardist Dizzy Reed was also added as a member.
ILLUSION I found Axl Rose ranting on songs about being sued by a neighbor ("Right Next Door to Hell"), dysfunctional relationships ("Back off Bitch"), and a drug overdose ("Coma"). Amid all the spewed bile, G N' R scored three Top 40 hits with a Wings cover ("Live and Let Die"), a piano-driven, Elton John-flavored epic ("November Rain"), and a hard-edged ballad ("Don't Cry"). Celebrity cameos include a then unknown Shannon Hoon, Hanoi Rocks' Mike Monroe, and Alice Cooper, who makes a particularly sinister contribution to "The Garden."

"The Who, Who's Next - MFSL Gold CD"
THE WHO MFSL 24 KARAT GOLD CD - FACTORY SEALED & IN COLLECTORS CONDITION WITH NO STORES STICKERS EVER ATTACHED.
While both THE WHO SELL OUT and TOMMY have their passionate devotees, WHO'S NEXT is the Who's masterpiece. Originally, Pete Townshend intended these songs for an even larger-scale project than TOMMY, a massive multimedia extravaganza called LIFEHOUSE that the songwriter eventually abandoned. Townshend was initially keen to keep at least the basic structure of the story for the Who's next record, but associate producer Glyn Johns convinced him that a straightforward single disc of the project's best songs would make a stronger album. Wise counsel indeed, because WHO'S NEXT is by far the group's most focused and powerful effort.
Bracketed by "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again," two classic rock epics that did more to advance the cause of synthesizers in mainstream rock than Kraftwerk's entire career, this album is basically flawless, ranging in mood from the heartbreaking "The Song Is Over" to John Entwistle's bitterly funny "My Wife." Although nearly every song on the record, barring only the bluesy acoustic interlude "Love Ain't for Keeping," is a saturation-level FM-rock-radio mainstay, WHO'S NEXT is that rarity--an intimately familiar album that never gets tiresome.

"The Who, Who's Next - Limited Deluxe Edition - 3 LP Set"
THE WHO - Who’s Next Limited Deluxe Edition 3 LP SET - 150 Gram Vinyl
This is the 1990's original Collection pressing.
This album was originally released in August of 1971 and became The Whos most acclaimed work (recently voted the Thirteenth Best Album of All-Time and The Whos only #1 Album ever).
Springing out of Pete Townsend’s never fulfilled realized “Lifehouse Project” which is cover in the two bonus LP's, it revolutionized popular music by introducing the use of pre-programmed synthesizers and sequencing. Variously informed by apocalyptic visions, sci-fi notions of interconnectivity that neatly presaged the internet and, of course, an unwavering conviction that rock & roll would save the world, the core tracks of the sprawling Lifehouse were recorded, cut, re-recorded and finally boiled down into a collection that seems to represent as much alienation ("Behind Blue Eyes") and overweening cynicism ("Won't Get Fooled Again") as it does liberation and unity. Aside from Townshend's own self-released, multi-disc meditation on the project, this expanded new edition is the most rewarding attempt to place Lifehouse and the over-exposed classic it spawned in their proper context. Six tracks from the album's original, but abandoned New York sessions flesh out the familiar material, with previously unreleased outtakes of "Getting in Tune" and a revealing, early arrangement of "Won't Get Fooled Again" warranting special note. The second disc documents one of Lifehouse's most quixotic elements with the first-time release of one of the series of concerts staged at London's Young Vic theater during the project's gestation, events during which band and audience would somehow mystically become One. Core tracks from the project are interspersed with typical hard-rocking Who fare of the time, resulting in a show whose focus and dynamics belied something very different from the arena-rock clichés that would eventually overwhelm them.
But it still produced The Who’s Next LP that features some of The Whos all-time biggest tracks including the Seventeenth Best Single of All-Time - Won’t Get Fooled Again - Baba O’Riley, Behind Blue Eyes and more.
Who’s Next set a rock standard that even its creators struggled to emulate. This LP was principally recorded at Olympic Studios in England and had additional personnel of Leslie West, guitar - Nicky Hopkins, piano - Al Kooper, organ.

"Sly And The Family Stone, Small Talk - 180 Gram"
Sly and the Family Stone, led by the enigmatic Sylvester Stewart (aka Sly Stone), were a pioneering funk band in the 60s and 70s who merged rock with funk, had a sexually and racially integrated line-up, and who famously moved from optimistic party anthems and hippy idealism to drug-induced frustration and paranoia.
Sly and the Family Stone were formed in 1966 when Sly Stone merged his struggling band with the struggling band of his brother Freddie, and added bassist Larry Graham. A debut album received good reviews but didn't sell well, so they were reluctantly persuaded to record an overtly commercial single to boost their reputation. Sly came up with the goods in January 1968 with the raucous party anthem "Dance to the Music", which got to No.8 in the pop charts and influenced the sound of soul music for the next several years. There are a few interesting innovations in just this one song: it is performed by a racially integrated group and with instrumental participation by women, it included rock guitar parts in a funk song, and there are four lead singers who take turns to sing.
This was followed in 1969 by their first classic album, Stand!, which included hit singles "Everyday People/Sing a Simple Song" and "I Want to Take You Higher". It eventually sold over three million copies and was followed by a famous Woodstock appearance, and another hit single: "Hot Fun in the Summertime". But internal differences were arising and illicit drug use was increasing at this time, so in the following two years only one single was released. "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" (December 69) is important for two reasons: it prominently featured Larry Graham's new slap-bass method that would become a standard in funk; and it signified the beginning of Sly and the Family Stone's darker period, as they expressed their frustration that the hippy ideals they once offered, of peace and love for all mankind, weren't working.
For much of 70/71, Sly Stone sank deeper into a drug habit and retreated from recording duties. A comeback single, "Family Affair", reached No.1 in late 1971, before the November release of their most acclaimed work: There's a Riot Goin' On. An album of melancholy and frustration, it announced the passing of 60s idealism and the new reality of widespread socio-economic problems. Despite the dark themes, it reached No.1 and is regarded as one of the greatest albums of the decade.
Subsequent albums, such as Fresh (1973) and Small Talk (1974), Fresh is now considered as an important album in the development of funk, while their work overall is regarded as highly influential for artists such as Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Michael Jackson. Eventually the band fizzled out as members became increasingly frustrated with Sly's erratic and unreliable behaviour, and bookings for live shows dried up. Officially splitting in 1975, some of the key members have since reformed and were touring Europe with Sly in 2007.

"Peter Green, The Best of Peter Green's - The Anthology Man Of The World 1968-1983 - 180 Gram Double LP"
The Best of Peter Green's - THE ANTHOLOGY MAN OF THE WORLD 1968-1983 - 180 Gram Limited Edition classic double LP SET high-definition Virgin Vinyl pressing for superior fidelity.
Collectors Alert: Many of these Titles will never be available again. Their license to produce these 180 Gram Masterpieces with Universal Records International has Ended. This means that this specific title is now out of print forever and there are very few remaining is sealed condition. This title is going to skyrocket in value & price over the next few months. So Don't Miss Out on being one of the last people to own this outstanding pressing. This is one the last pressing you will ever see at this price. Don't Miss Out.
Peter Green is a genius in the same way that Brian Wilson or Syd Barrett is a genius. Green's genius is so natural--such an extension of who he is--that he can no sooner separate the fact that he has genius from the fact that he has ten fingers...it's just the way it is and it's a part of him. I guess it's only we who don't have this genius that can recognize it in him...it's as if the genius that we don't have is a finger that we are missing.
Peter Green's search for himself has taken him places that few have dared to go, and he's had difficulties since he embarked on this search...alas, a one-way trip. But to hear the music that this man has created gives us a glimpse of his synesthaesic whimsies and wonders.
After departing John Mayall's Blues Breakers with mates John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, Green formed a band that would continue exploration of blues as was going on in the mid- to late-1960's in England with bands like The Yardbirds, The Animals and others. The original Fleetwood Mac could suck in the listener and hold him in the palm of their collective hand. To say that their music had a groove you could fall right into would only be telling half of the story. Do yourself a favor and look up some of their early catalog like "English Rose" or "Then Play On". In particular search for "Chicago 1969", one helluva album!
When Green left the Mac, he was sought after by many other groups, and players would assemble around him just to record. His Splinter Group, too, made some wonderful recordings. This double LP set is a collection of all of Green's early works, and is a great set of tunes to listen to!
If you've ever seen B.B. King or Eric Clapton play, you've seen how the guitar is just a natural part of their body...like the music in the guitarist's head just flows right through into and out of his amp. This is what you get from Peter Green.
TRACKS ARE - SIDE ONE AND TWO ARE ALL FROM FLEETWOOD MAC EXCEPT WHERE NOTED - MAN OF THE WORLD - LONG GREY MARE - FAST TALKING WOMAN BLUES - JUMPING AT SHADOWS (LIVE) - BLACK MAGIC WOMAN (LIVE) - SHOWBIZ BLUES - URANUS (BRUNNING SUNFLOWER BLUES BAND) - OH WELL (LIVE) - IF YOU LET ME LOVE YOU (LIVE) - LAZY POKER BLUES - THE GREEN MANALISHI

"AC DC, Powerage - 180 Gram First Edition"
THIS TITLE IS THE ORIGINAL 1ST EDITION OF THIS LIMITED EDITION 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE PRESSING WITH THE ORIGINAL SILVER MARKETING STICKER THAT WAS ONLY ATTACHED TO THESE 1ST EDITIONS.
Merited for its song variety, artistic expression and sonic clarity, Powerage is favored by many aficionados to be AC/DC’s most accomplished performance in a studio setting. Recorded in Australia circa 1978, Powerage also ushered in a new era of sorts, for it marked the debut of London, England bassist Cliff Williams, whose driving, eighth-note bottom brought AC/DC’s attack to full caliber. The final album to be recorded with production team Vanda & Young during the Bon Scott era, Powerage was their most focused work to date and really showcases Angus Young’s fiery guitar playing.

"Shelly Manne, Sounds Unheard Of - 180 Gram"
SHELLY MANNE - SOUNDS UNHEARD OF – 180 Gram Factory Sealed Audiophile pressed LP.
In 1962, Contemporary Records set out to create the ultimate stereophonic listening experience. Widely acclaimed for both the sonic quality of its recordings and its classic and adventuresome jazz repertoire, Lester Koenig decided to meld these two elements into an album that would test the mettle of any stereo system, while providing listeners with entertaining and unusual treatments of familiar repertoire. Shelly Manne, who was a mainstay of Contemporary's artist roster, and who was acutely aware of the subtleties of sound recording, was the obvious protagonist for such a project. Shelly's arrangements, in which he plays a vast array of exotic and seldom heard percussion instruments (and other objects) in duet with Jack Marshall's nylon string acoustic guitar, were conceived so as to demonstrate to the fullest the capabilities of Contemporary's renowned recording system. "…his first solo album since Who Came First, a vanity project released to little notice around Who's Next (so limited in its distribution that Empty Glass seemed like his solo debut). Some of the songs on Empty Glass would have worked as Who songs, yet this is clearly a singer/songwriter album, the work of a writer determined to lay his emotions bare…Empty Glass remains one of the highlights of Townshend's catalog and is one of the most revealing records he cut, next to his other breakdown album, Who By Numbers." – All Music Guide

DAVID GILMOUR - DAVID GILMOUR - FACTROY SEALED - Pink Floyd guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour released his self-titled solo debut in June of 1978. The album was recorded during down time in Pink Floyd's history. While David was making his solo album, bass player/vocalist Roger Waters created demos for The Wall and Pros and Cons while drummer Nick Mason was producing The Damned and Steve Hillage and keyboardist Rick Wright was making a solo album of his own Wet Dream.
David's album was recorded in late 1977/early 1978 in Superbear Studios in France with David producing and handling guitars, vocals and keyboards. Also joining him were Roxy Music/future Foreigner bassist Rick Wills and Quiver drummer Willie Wilson, whom both had played with David in the power trio Bullet in 1967.
This album kicks off with the great instrumental Mihalis which is a great guitar workout. The next song is There's No Way Out Of Here which is a laid-back classic delivered with the minimum of fuss and overdubbing; Gilmour's voice rarely rising above a breath. This track was originally recorded by the band Unicorn as No Way Out of Here and this song was the single off the album doing well on rock radio in the US in 1978.
Tracks include: 1. Mihalis 2. There's No Way Out of Here 3. Cry from the Street 4. So Far Away 5. Short and Sweet 6. Raise My Rent 7. No Way 8. It's Definitely 9. I Can't Breathe Anymore
The album closes with the atmospheric “I Can't Breathe Anymore” which sounds like it could have appeared on a Floyd album. The album was a modest success as it peaked at #29 in the US and went Gold.

SLOWHAND was the album which defined the new cool of Eric Clapton, a sultry, laid-back mix of rock and blues, with a heavy dose of country and southwestern regional sounds to leaven the blend. After LAYLA, SLOWHAND was probably Clapton's most popular, fully realized solo disc.
The opening number was by J.J. Cale, whose "After Midnight" had been one of the real joys of the guitarist's first solo excursion, ERIC CLAPTON. "Cocaine," with its slow grinding beat, menacing melodic vamp and one-step from perdition lyrics, was the toughest, most rocking number on SLOWHAND, and a major radio hit from the outset.
A couple of vocal duets with countryish harmonies set the tone for the rest of SLOWHAND. "Lay Down Sally" was a funky, chicken-fried bit of boogie with a taut, melodic aside from Clapton's twangy Stratocaster, while Don Williams' sweet, soulful "We're All The Way" provided a low-key vehicle for Clapton's tender vocal exchanges with Marcy Levy, as his understated arpeggios toll away in the background.

"David Foster, The Best Of Me - Factory Sealed MFSl JVC Vinyl"
MFSL ORIGINAL FACTORY SEALED LP - DAVID FOSTER - THE BEST OF ME - This is a MFSL Super Virgin Vinyl (so pure that you can see through it if held up to the light) JVC Half-Speed Japanese Pressing. THIS recording is from the Victor Company of Japan for state of the art audiophile pressings.
David Foster was among the most commercially successful producers and composers in all of popular music, lending his signature sweeping power ballad aesthetic to smash hits from Celine Dion, Chicago and Whitney Houston and in the process virtually defining the adult contemporary format. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Foster began studying piano at the age of five, and just eight years later enrolled in the University of Washington's music program. At 16, he joined Chuck Berry's backing band, and in 1971 relocated to Los Angeles with his group Skylark, scoring a major hit the following year with the single "Wildflower." Foster also became a sought-after session keyboardist, appearing on recordings from superstars including John Lennon, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross and Rod Stewart.
Foster's production career began when he helmed the 1976 eponymous debut from his group Attitudes; he soon turned to outside projects as well, writing and producing material for Hall & Oates, Deniece Williams, Carole Bayer Sager, Boz Scaggs and the Average White Band. In 1979, he earned his first Grammy Award for penning Earth, Wind and Fire's "After the Love Has Gone." From there Foster's career exploded, and he was soon writing and producing for artists including Kenny Rogers, the Tubes and Kenny Loggins. In 1982, he won a second Grammy for producing the original cast album to the Broadway hit Dreamgirls; he also composed and produced Chicago's hit "Hard to Say I'm Sorry," followed in 1983 by work on Lionel Richie's blockbuster Can't Slow Down. With 1984's Chicago 17, Foster scored his greatest success to date, with the smash single "Hard Habit to Break" earning him a Grammy for Producer of the Year.
A year later, Foster wrote and produced John Parr's hit "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)," and in 1986 reunited with Chicago, not only for their 18 LP, which launched the hit "Will You Still Love Me," but also with the group's singer, Peter Cetera, for whom he wrote the chart-topping "The Glory of Love." By now Foster was among the most successful producers in pop -- though reviled by critics, his work was enormously successful on the charts, with dozens of Top 40 hits. However, he was atypically quiet during the latter half of the 1980s, most notably teaming with Neil Diamond on his 1988 album The Best Years of Our Lives and working on a variety of film projects and one-off studio dates. In 1990 Foster began his collaboration with Celine Dion, writing and producing material for her Unison album and generating the hit "Have a Heart." A year later, he teamed with Natalie Cole for her mega-hit Unforgettable, winning three more Grammys: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Producer of the Year.
In 1992, Foster collaborated with Whitney Houston on the soundtrack to her hit film The Bodyguard, which netted him another Album of the Year Grammy at the following year's award ceremonies, with the blockbuster single "I Will Always Love You," also winning Record of the Year. Again, he took home Producer of the Year honors as well; additionally, "When I Fall in Love," the theme to Sleepless in Seattle performed by Celine Dion and Clive Griffin, garnered Foster another trophy as arranger. For Dion, he next produced 1993's The Colour of My Love, which spawned the smash "The Power of Love," and a year later, he helmed All-4-One's I Swear. With Dion's 1996 Falling Into You, Foster again took home the Album of the Year Grammy; the blockbuster Because You Loved Me, with the title track the main theme song from Up Close & Personal, was also a nominee in the Record of the Year category. A major hit from that same year was Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart." The solo Love Lights the World followed in the spring of 2000. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

It is the difference between owning a Ferrari or a Honda Civic.
So enjoy being one of the last people in the world to get your butt up and flip a side of vinyl. Itis the purest form of listening pleasure , not to mention the artistic value of owning a cover of art, -- like posters of your favorite artist. “How we do it: First we hook up a sequence of sleek & slinky musical cells over which we sprinkle the most amusing lyrics. Immediately we get on the horn and round up our swinging sidemen, including but not limited to Keith Carlock (drums), Jon Herrington (guitar), Hugh McCracken (guitar), Ted Baker (keyboards), and yrs. truly, Mssrs. Becker and Fagen, on our respective axes. Next thing you know, the wiggy vocals and stellar solo work are stacked atop the now-realized grooves and harmonies. After mixdown, the finished album reveals to its makers deep subterranean themes and powerful emotional undercurrents that satisfy and surprise at the same time.”

"John Kay & Sparrow - Collectors Item - The Beginnings of Steppenwolf"
JOHN KAY & SPARROW - COLLECTORS ITEM - COLUMBIA RECORDS RELEASE OF COLLECTORS ITEMS THE BEGINNINGS OF STEPPENWOLF.
JOHN KAY & THE SPARROW - COLLECTORS ITEMS -
Steppenwolf leader/founder John Kay is perhaps the most overlooked early contributor to the musical style that would become heavy metal and hard rock. Kay was the first rocker to use the phrase heavy metal in a song, in one of metal's first great anthems: Steppenwolf's 1968 classic "Born to Be Wild." Born Joachim Fritz Krauledat on April 12, 1944, in the section of Germany that was once known as East Prussia, it was the American rock & roll that he heard on U.S. Armed Forces radio after his family moved to East Germany that fueled his interest in music. After relocating to Toronto, Canada, in 1958, Kay became even more transfixed by rock & roll -- leading to Kay picking up the guitar, writing songs, and playing in local bands.
In the '60s, Kay founded the Sparrow, a rock outfit who played both Canada and the U.S., but received little attention. The group had fallen apart by 1967, but with a new, harder-edged style of rock beginning to conquer the charts and airwaves (Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and the Yardbirds), Kay decided to pursue this direction with his next band, Steppenwolf (titled after Hermann Hesse's novel of the same name).

"Eric Clapton, Clapton Chronicles (2 LPs)"
ERIC CLAPTON - CHRONICLES - THE BEST OF ERIC CLAPTON - NOW OUT OF PRINT AND BECOMING TREMENDOUSLY RARE.
FACTORY SEALED - OUT OF PRINT EUROPEAN 1999 RELEASE DOUBLE LP SET
High definition analog vinyl pressing for superior fidelity. The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and ears. The ultimate record – the way music was meant to be heard. Out of Print forever!!
Clapton joined The Yardbirds in 1963 and quickly developed a big reputation for his guitar ability and style.
In 1965 he joined Mayall's band, and their album of the following year Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton is widely hailed as a classic of its style. A famous photograph of a piece of London graffiti summed up the reaction of fans: it read "Clapton Is God".
In 1966 he formed Cream with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. For the two-and-a-bit years that they existed, Cream were a massive worldwide success, selling out tours wherever they went and selling millions of albums. Clapton developed as a songwriter for classic records such as Disraeli Gears (1967) and Wheels of Fire (1968), both of which were inspirational to Led Zeppelin and the other hard rock and metal acts that followed.
After Cream broke up in 1968, Clapton's next project was Blind Faith, formed with Baker, Steve Winwood and Rick Grech. They toured to massive crowds and released one self-titled album, before splitting.
Clapton released an eponymous solo album and spent 1970 guesting on albums by others, including All Things Must Pass by close friend George Harrison. He then formed Derek and the Dominos, and released Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. It was met with a mixed reception but has since been reappraised as a classic. It features the lead single "Layla", which includes one of the most famous guitar riffs ever written.
During this period Clapton declined into depression, worsened by a serious heroin habit, the deaths of close friend Jimi Hendrix and band-mate Duane Allman, and the poor initial response to the Layla album. Derek and the Dominos gave up halfway through recording a second album, and Clapton retreated from public view.
He only came out to perform at Harrison's 1971 Concert for Bangladesh (during which he passed out on-stage), before The Who's Pete Townshend organised a comeback gig for him, later released as the Rainbow Concert (1973).
His first album after kicking the heroin habit, 461 Ocean Boulevard (1974), was a big hit with critics and the public, and included a hit cover of Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff". Subsequent albums were low-key, but Slowhand (1977) featured two big singles: "Wonderful Tonight" and "Cocaine".
In 1992, there was a re-emergence in Clapton's commercial fortunes, brought about by deep personal tragedy. His four year old son Conor died after falling out of a high-rise window in New York. The sorrowful song Clapton wrote about it, "Tears in Heaven", was a worldwide smash, and won three Grammy Awards. It was included on the Unplugged live album, which was widely acclaimed.
ERIC CLAPTON - CHRONICLES - THE BEST OF ERIC CLAPTON - EUROPEAN PRESSING - 1999 RELEASE - LONG OUT OF PRINT 2 LP SET - If this were your first exposure to Eric Clapton, a bit of bewilderment would be in order. This is the legendary guitar icon? This is (as his early apostles once proclaimed) God? Ranging from the mid-'80s through the late '90s, The Clapton Chronicles owes less to the groundbreaking blues-rock of Clapton's '60s and '70s classics than to the polished-to-a-glare pop of PHIL COLLINS, who produced one of the tracks included in this 15-song anthology.
His reinterpretation of his BEST OF--the once-gripping, now-placid "Layla"--perhaps best illustrates Clapton at middle-age: Who wants to bask in his darkest period? Not Clapton, who converts his surging, purging charge into a soothing stroll. And perhaps not fans of such docile MOR fare as "My Father's Eyes," "Tears in Heaven," and the two new tracks, "Blue Eyes Blue" and "Get Lost."

"The Who, Who's Next & The Liifehouse Project (3 LPs) - EuroSealed"
Classic Analog LP Pressing "Euro-Sealed"
THE WHO - Who’s Next Limited Deluxe Edition 3 LP SET - BECOMING TREMENDOUSLY RARE AND ONE OF ONLY TWO COPIES WE HAVE LEFT FOREVER.
This is the 1990's original Collection pressing. These FOREIGN pressings are sent with the vinyl outside of the jackets when being shipped to the U.S. to protect the covers from damage. Once inside the our wherehouse we then protectively seal the title in a loose re-sealable plastic cover to ensure the quality of the product. This title is brand new & never played condition.

"Art Pepper, No Limit"
140 Gram Limited Edition Analog Virgin Vinyl.
No longer making a comeback, in 1977 Art Pepper had firmly reinstalled himself on the jazz scence. He was playing with all of his old facility and a new depth of expression born out of the pain of his ruinous years and the joy of his personal and artisitc rebirth. No Limit found Pepper once again in the comopany of the rapidly developing young pianisst George Cables, who had been so important to the sucess of The Trip (OJC 410). Pepper and Cables were to make ten more albums together over the next few years. Drummer Carl Burnett, another of Pepper's favorites, was on the date along with the powerful bassist Tony Dumas. The session includeda moving performance of "Ballad Of The Sad Young Men" and the Latin abandon of "Mambo de la Pinta," with Pepper overdubbing a wild chase on tenor and alto.

"Miles Davis Plays Al Cohn Compositions"
10" Vinyl
Since the 'records heard 'round the world,' GODCHILD, JERU, MOVE, et al, Miles Davis has made many other fine records to enhance his position as top modern trumpeter, but in the main they have been three horn groups (including himself) with an emphasis on solo work.
After the original melody, usually stated in tight unison, each hornman played again only when his solo turn came. The soloists had to be good to sustain interest, and they were, but it was felt that Miles needed a change of pace for his next recording date; compositions and arrangements which would suit him and result in a happy combination of arranged music and solo work. The man who achieved this was Al Cohn, the unheralded great of the tenor saxophone, as well as the composer's and arranger's desk." - from the original liner notes by Ira Gitler

"The Who, My Generation - 150 Gram"
THE WHO – MY GENERATION - This Limited Edition Audiophile Mastered LP (from the Original Session Tapes) was mastered to a 150 Gram Heavy Vinyl LP and has been critically acclaimed as the finest and quietest ever produced of this recording. It is a new listening experience that will virtually make you feel as if you were in the studio
My Generation, The Who's first album, has little of the roaring, raging quartet heard on Who's Next, Live At Leeds and Quadrophenia. But the Mod-fueled, American R&B-inspired sense of ambitious pop that powers A Quick One, Sell Out and even Tommy isn't so hard to find here.
