"The Beatles, Magical Mystery Tour - U.K. Pressing - EuroSealed"
THE BEATLES > MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR > Euro Sealed - These U.K pressings are sent with the covers outside of the jackets when being shipped to the U.S. to protect the covers from damage. Once inside the our wherehouse we then protectively seal the title in a loose re-sealable plastic cover to ensure the quality of the product. This title is brand new & never played condition.
We've Play Tested the new EMI Japan OBI Pressing against this U.K. Pressing and our results are this U.K. is exactly the same quality. Maybe a little better.
This album has been direct-metal-mastered from a digitally re-mastered original tape to give the best possible sound quality. Mymusicfix has listened to it > AND IT SOUNDS GREAT!!
Track Listings 1. Magical Mystery Tour 2. The Fool On The Hill 3. Flying 4. Blue Jay Way 5. Your Mother Should Know 6. I Am The Walrus 7. Hello Goodbye 8. Strawberry Fields Forever 9. Penny Lane 10. Baby You're A Rich Man 11. All You Need Is Love
The album feels even more like a collection of singles (instead of an actual movie soundtrack) than Help! or A Hard Day's Night, but maybe that's because every song sounds like it could have been a hit single. " Even George's "Blue Jay Way" paints a vivid sound-portrait in fascinating detail. Consider Joni Mitchell's "Car on the Hill" from Court and Spark to be a companion piece about sitting in the Hollywood Hills, waiting for somebody to show up.
This album features the two 45 rpm masterpieces that sum up the quintessential best of Lennon and McCartney at this stage of their development: Paul's "Penny Lane" and John's "I Am the Walrus."

Includes liner notes by Sean Egan.
Although the opening track, "Shout," takes on the theme of catharsis that dominated THE HURTING two years earlier, the progression evident from that debut to SONGS FROM THE BIG CHAIR is manifest in every other facet. While many of the band's synth-pop peers continued to develop along a linear route, Tears For Fears vaulted into the potentially insipid world of '80s MOR.
Curt Smith sings on the radio-friendly "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," but Roland Orzabal's stronger voice takes center-stage for much of the album, including the spirited single "Mother's Talk" and a falsetto on the stadium-sized "Head Over Heels." "The Working Hour" is the perfect realization of the new sound: a smooth six-minute arrangement of saxophone, piano, and guitar that's marked by a restrained sense of drama. SONGS FROM THE BIG CHAIR is an excellent album and, shading Simple Minds' ONCE UPON A TIME, arguably the finest example of epic '80s pop. The 1998 remastered edition includes seven bonus tracks.

"Art Farmer Quintet, The Time And The Place"
Classic Analog Out Of Print LP Pressing. Live Concert Performance,
THE TIME AND THE PLACE -
The son of a steelworker, Farmer began working as a musician from the mid-1940s onwards. Based in Los Angeles, he played in the bands of Benny Carter and Jay McShann among others.
He joined Lionel Hampton's orchestra around 1953, fellow trumpeters Clifford Brown and Quincy Jones were also with Hampton at the time), and having relocated to New York, later worked with Gigi Gryce, Horace Silver and Gerry Mulligan among others. From the middle of the decade he featured in recordings by leading arrangers of the day, including George Russell, Jones and Oliver Nelson. He also formed "The Jazztet" with the composer and tenor saxophonist Benny Golson; both men had independently come to the decision that the other should be a member of their group. "The Jazztet" did not gain sufficient club engagements to last beyond 1962, but it did assist the careers of pianist McCoy Tyner and trombonist Grachan Moncur III, and the group recorded several albums for Argo and Mercury Records. Farmer and Golson revived "The Jazztet" in the 1980s for a number of engagements, with the original trombonist Curtis Fuller returning to the group.
In the early 1960s Farmer established a trio with guitarist Jim Hall and bassist Steve Swallow. He then moved to Europe, ultimately based in Vienna, where he performed with The Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland Big Band. Farmer also recorded extensively as a leader throughout his later career.
Art Farmer has long been one of the most admired and respected trumpet stylists in jazz. THE TIME AND THE PLACE, a rock’n’roll-ish medium-tempo tune cast in a minor mode by Jimmy Heath, has a purposeful, direct feel conveyed by each of the three soloists - trumpet, tenor and piano.
Tracks include: The time and The Place, The Shadow Of Your Smile, One for Juan - Nino’s Scene, Short Cake, Make Someone happy and On the Trail. If you like your jazz mainstream-modern -- not avant-garde, screaming or far-out -- the Art Farmer Quintet is worth the listen.

The son of a steelworker, Farmer began working as a musician from the mid-1940s onwards. Based in Los Angeles, he played in the bands of Benny Carter and Jay McShann among others.

Art Farmer enjoyed playing pieces with strong melodies, and the original concept of Baroque Sketches was to adapt the music of Johann Sebastian Bach into a jazz setting. After initial research, it was decided to also include works by Chopin and Albeniz, as well as John Lewis' "Little David's Fugue" and Sonny Rollins' "Alfie Theme." With arrangements by his former Jazztet partner Benny Golson, Farmer creates music that is entertaining, though unlikely to stand up to repeated listening.

"Tony Williams, The Joy Of Flying"
TONY WILLIAMS - THE JOY OF FLYING -
COLUMBIA RECORDS JC35705 OUT OF PRINT PRESSING
FACTORY SEALED LP
Tony Williams' classic fusion album, originally released in 1979. THE ALBUM features such jazz luminaries as Herbie Hancock, Tom Scott, Stanley Clarke, Cecil Taylor, George Benson, Jan Hammer, Brian Auger, Ronnie Montrose and Michael Brecker.
This album is ... excellent! This killer shuffle on "Going Far" is just great. Jan Hammer does a great job too. The second song "Hip Skip" is an awesome funky song which has Jan Hammer, George Benson, funky bassist Paul Jackson, Michael Brecker and Ralph McDonald. "Hittin on 6" is funky too and has Herbie and Stanley playin'. Now comes the hard-rock part of the album: "Open Fire" - a real hard rockin' song. My favorite song(out of 7 killer cuts) is "Tony" by Stanley Clarke. Gotta love Herbie's playing and Tony's tight grooves.. "ERIS" is another song which has Jan Hammer doing Keyboards and all synths and Tony's awesome drumming - but now it's not funky like on "Going far", now its rocking. "Coming Home" is a beatiful song.

"Metallica, w/ Michal Kamen conducting the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (3 LPs)"
Classica Analog LP Pressing. Includes 21 tracks and 2 new Metallica tracks
After 1988's ...And Justice for All, Metallica pared down its progressive, heavy metal sound. During the '90s, the band's studio releases grew slicker and more produced, resulting in mostly radio-friendly, good ol' boy metal. By the end of the decade, Metallica was established as the pioneer of modern metal, but the band hadn't done anything innovative, arguably, in ten years.
On April 21 and April 22, 1999, Metallica recorded two performances with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Kamen. Kamen, who had previously worked with producer Rock on "Nothing Else Matters", approached the band in 1991 with the idea of pairing Metallica's music with a symphony orchestra. Kamen and his staff of over 100 composed additional orchestral material for Metallica songs. Metallica wrote two new Kamen-scored songs for the event, "No Leaf Clover" and "-Human". The audio recording and concert footage were released in 1999 as the album and concert film S&M. It entered the Billboard 200 at number two, and the Australian ARIA charts and Top Internet Albums chart at number one.[17]
In April 1999, the group performed two concerts with the San Francisco Symphony, and the result was S&M, a two-disc collection of the concerts. Overall, the album successfully pairs violin strings with guitar strings, but it's no surprise that the best tracks here are the older songs; their multi-layered, compositional style works well with symphonic arrangements. "Master of Puppets," "Call of the Ktulu," "One," and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" sound richer and fuller with violin, trumpet, clarinet, harp, trombone, and flute accompaniments, but "Sad but True," "Devil's Dance," and especially "Of Wolf and Man" range from haphazard and melodramatic to uninspired.
S&M definitely has its moments, and not just with the pre-Black Album material: "Fuel" surpasses the furious pumping energy of the studio version, "Hero of the Day" stays poignant throughout, and "Until It Sleeps" has a wonderfully sinister feel. James Hetfield maintains his madman persona from beginning to end, laughing maniacally and grunting and growling at all the right moments. Overall, the symphony adds a macabre, ghoulish atmosphere -- it all sounds like a Broadway freak show or a revved-up Danny Elfman nightmare. Which is exactly what a Metallica album should sound like, even if every song isn't the best (or most appropriate) in the band's catalog.

"Art Farmer, When Farmer Met Gryce"
ART FARMER/GIGI GRYCE - WHEN FARMER MET GRYCE
FACTORY SEALED LP
Art Farmer (1928-1999) and Gigi Gryce (1927-1983) had a special relationship going in the mid-Fifties. They had been bandmates in the Lionel Hampton orchestra that visited France and Sweden in 1953, the band that included Clifford Brown, Jimmy Cleveland, et al., and discovered a natural musical camaraderie. Back in New York they further developed this affinity as Manhattan neighbors and musical partners. It was a specific association that lasted into 1956. On the first of the two dates here, Art and Gigi are backed by the Prestige house rhythm section of the time--Horace Silver, Percy Heath, and Kenny Clarke. It is a hot blowing session.

PAST MASTERS/Volumes One & Two -- from EMI/Apple - Pressed in England. What can you say, really? When you get right down to it, it's the greatest band in the history of pop music, the most influential, the best writers, and whatever other superlatives you can think of. Given their phenomenal output, and their huge chart success, it's no surprise that this second volume proves every bit as rich as the first. John, Paul, George, and Ringo had that rare chemistry that moved musical mountains, with more great songs than many people have had hot dinners, and they're still affecting the course of popular music. Thirty years later, all the paths they hinted at have yet to be explored, which is about as high a testament as can be given. -
This second volume of Past Masters picks up where volume one left off!! A great collection of non LP singles (Hey Jude, Revolution, Get Back, Don’t Let Me Down, Ballad Of John And Yoko, Day Tripper, We Can Work It Out, Paperback Writer ,Rain, Let It Be, You know My Name (look up the number) and more!!! Also includes a rare version of Across The Universe. Since the songs are ordered chronologically, you can hear how the Beatles honed their technique over the years. It is a good place to begin for people who (gasp) might not own Beatles albums--But it's also essential for those who own all the albums, because many of these songs weren't included on the other releases. And that is the real key to this collection. Many were only released as 45 singles & never on Beatles LP's.

"The Guess Who, 2 Titles - Road Food and Rockin' - Original LPs"
THE GUESS WHO - THE ORIGINAL RELEASES ROAD FOOD & ROCKIN A 2 LP SET - DECADES OUT OF PRINT
The Guess Who were a Canadian rock band who achieved international success with the 1970 hit singles “No Time” and “American Woman”.
Formed in Winnipeg in 1960, they had a Canadian No.1 in 1965 with “Shakin’ All Over” while still called Chad Allan & the Expressions. But the records were credited to “Guess Who?”, as a marketing gimmick designed to get the public guessing that the song might be a secret side-project by a big-name star. By the time their real identity was revealed, they were so well known as “Guess Who?” that they were forced to take it on as their real name.
In 1968 they changed the name to “The Guess Who” (without a question mark), and they enjoyed a US Top 10 hit the following year with “These Eyes”. Their biggest success came with the 1970 release of American Woman: the title track was the first Canadian song to top the US charts, and it topped the Canadian chart and made an impression in the UK too. “No Time” also went to No.1 in Canada, and made the US Top 5.
Guitarist and songwriter Randy Bachman then left to form Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and the band struggled to replicate their earlier success, though they still had several minor hits. “Clap for the Wolfman” (1974) was a Top 10 hit on both sides of the border, but the band broke up the following year.
THE ORIGINAL RELEASES OF ROAD FOOD & ROCKIN STILL IN THEIR ORIGINAL SEALS (but each has a small cutout in jacket). Rockin , originally released in 1972, represented a back-to-basics album for The Guess Who. The twin-guitars of Kurt Winter and Greg Leskiw power one of the band s hardest rocking releases. Yet in true early 70s Guess Who fashion, Rockin features an all-inclusive definition of rock, from the heavy riffs of opening track and single Heartbroken Bopper, the 50s-styled boogies Get Your Ribbons On and Running Bear, the harmony-driven Smoke Big Factory, the socially conscious Guns, Guns, Guns, and the psychedelic multipart suite that closed the original album. "Abbey Lincoln, Abbey Is Blue"
ABBEY LINCOLN - ABBEY IS BLUE
FACTORY SEALED LP
For many years, Abbey Lincoln has been recognized as a strong and strong-minded, racially aware and rhythmically secure artist. But early in her career - as a striking-looking young woman making the transition from being a sleek supper-club performer - it was difficult to gain acceptance as a true jazz singer. This seems hard to understand now, listening to her treatments of material by such as Duke Ellington and Kurt Weill, accompanied by a galaxy of players (who always knew her worth) like Max Roach, Wynton Kelly, Cedar Walton, Kenny Dorham, Stanley Turrentine, Sam Jones and Philly Joe Jones.
