The album is poppy, funky, and classical at times. It includes a wide palette of musical influences and diversity, so regardless of your genre preference (funk, new wave, alternative, rock, etc.), you are sure to enjoy this album. Michael Hutchence's vocals are soothing ("Johnson's Aeroplane"), powerful ("All the Voices"), and trade-mark sultry and seductive ("Original Sin," "Burn for You") as most of his vocals are. This album is brilliant from start to finish -- any music fan should own this album over any other INXS album, though they are all great. Michael Hutchence's legacy lives on in all of INXS's masterpieces, most of which have gone regretfully unnoticed over the years. Do not pass this album by... "Jackie McLean, A Long Drink Of The Blues - CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK"JACKIE MCLEAN - A LONG DRINK OF THE BLUES FACTORY SEALED LP The first side of this obscure but worthwhile session is a loosely-organized, extended jam session on a blues in the key of F, much like Jimmy Smith's celebrated "Sermon." The cast combines obscure players (Gil Coggins, Webster Young) with established stars (Curtis Fuller, who offers some of his best choruses on record; Paul Chambers, the heart of the rhythm section; the long-lived, much-traveled Louis Hayes). But the main message is offered by Jackie, first a rare solo on tenor saxophone, then a quick costume change and he's back with his alto on the same tune. On both instruments he reveals, along with his command of the language of modern jazz and deep-rooted blues indebtedness, that always controversial but inescapable personal "sound"--raw, acidic, pungently sour, and slightly sharp. If he ever listened to and learned much from a Johnny Hodges or Paul Desmond, it's certainly not apparent in his playing from this period. He's like the talented, irrepressible kid with all of the tattoos and body piercings--hard for some of us instantly to embrace yet always in your face and winning your respect in spite of yourself. After recording with Miles Davis at age 19, he worked with the bands of George Wallington, Charles Mingus and Art Blakey. In Blakey's Messengers, he formed an association with trumpeter Bill Hardman. In this set, Hardman is aboard for "Mean to Me," "Gone with the Wind" and the title blues. "Jane's Addiction, Ritual De Lo Habitual"JANES ADDICTION - Ritual De Lo Habitual - Out of Print SEALED LP and you will be one of the last people in the world to own a factory sealed copy of this masterpiece. By far Jane's Addiction's best album, Ritual De Lo Habitual is chock full of songs that are both catchy and experimental. The singles "Stop" and "Been Caught Stealing" are good examples; "No One's Leaving" has a nice funk edge with some busy guitar work, and "Ain't No Right" and "Obvious" are strong as well & the album finishes strongly with "Of Course" and "Classic Girl". Jane's Addiction's funk-punk-rock mix is appealing, and never more so than on this album.

Crowned by its single, a cunning re-make of Aretha Franklin's sister, Erma's "Piece Of My Heart", the album also contained Joplin's Monterey show-stopper, Big Mamma Thornton's "Ball and Chain", as well as the Gershwin classic, "Summertime", on which Joplin's always under-appreciated band (especially guitarists, Sam Andrews and James Gurley) match her vocal intensity with their furious playing.
