"GroundHogs, Hoggin' The Stage- Double LP - 180 Gram"

GROUNDHOGS - HOGGIN THE STAGE - LIMITED EDITION DOUBLE LP 180 GRAM PRESSING - FACTORY SEALED LP - The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and ears. The ultimate record - the way music was meant to be heard. One of the finer moments of British blues, the Groundhogs, lead by British guitar hero Tony McPhee, worshipped in the church of American blues and R&B. Devotees of John Lee Hooker, they proved their chops in the mid '60s when Hooker selected them to back him on his British tours. However, while the Groundhogs played a derivative sound, they were a solid band in their own right, with an especially electrifying live presence, as proven in their Hoggin' The Stage. Originally released in 1984, this album is a collection of live recordings from 1971, during a Stones tour, and a gig in Stockholm in 1976 shortly before they disbanded.
