On the attempted big ballad "Have I Been Away Too Long" he confuses melisma with yodeling (which is actually pretty funny, albeit unintentional). Elsewhere, however, the album is smart and tuneful, with "The Last Time"--a Phil Spector tribute--and "Pleasure Beach," a '60s party song complete with cheesy Farfisa organ as particular standouts.
